C6 Suspicious! Your Goal!

When Xueling woke up again, the carriage was already on its way back to the Soong estate. Remembering how she fainted in the carriage without anyone showing concern, Xueling couldn't help but let out a cold laugh. It only made her see more clearly the selfish and indifferent nature of these people.

"Miss, you're finally awake. I went out of my way to fetch a cloak for you, but who knew you'd fall asleep?" Furong couldn't help but complain when she saw Xueling awake.

Xueling ignored her. This girl would have to be dealt with, but not just yet.

Seeing that Xueling wasn't paying her any attention, Furong pursed her lips in dissatisfaction but said nothing more.

Armed with the memories she had gleaned from Furong, Xueling felt more confident. Once back at the Soong estate, she went straight to her original room, leaving behind a firm instruction: "No one is to disturb me without my permission." She then entered the room.

Xueling sat cross-legged on the bed, focusing her mind. The stabbing pain in her head was secondary; what worried her more was the exhaustion from overusing her psychic force. She had overestimated this body's endurance.

She remained seated from noon until dusk, finally calming the chaos in her mind. With a sigh of relief, Xueling slowly opened her eyes, only to tense up immediately: "Who's there?"

In the pitch-black room, a soft chuckle echoed: "Miss Soong, you're as sharp as ever."

"So it's you, Prince Peaceful," Xueling Soong rose from her bed, her brows slightly furrowed. "You've appeared before me twice today. Are you following me?"

With the help of Furong, Xueling had already learned Chu Yuan's identity.

"I haven't been following you," Chu Yuan replied, his voice laced with amusement that grew more evident. "Our earlier encounter was pure coincidence, though I must admit it was quite entertaining. But this time, I am indeed here for you."

Xueling lit the candle on the table, her gaze settling on Chu Yuan. He wore the same flamboyant crimson attire from earlier, his demeanor just as infuriating, though the dim candlelight softened his features slightly. "So, what exactly do you want, Prince? I've thought it over, and I can't imagine what you could possibly covet from me."

"What if I'm simply drawn to your beauty?" Chu Yuan's eyes danced with mischief as he looked at her.

Xueling's brow twitched, and she fought the urge to slap this rogue prince. But knowing she was at a disadvantage, she held back. "You're joking, right? A worldly man like you has surely seen countless beauties. How could someone as plain as me catch your eye?"

"You certainly have a good sense of self-awareness," Chu Yuan chuckled softly.

Soong Xueling felt an itch in her hand. "So, what's your real aim, Your Highness? If there's something you want from me, just say it, and I'll gladly hand it over."

"Strange," Chu Yuan suddenly mused, seemingly out of nowhere. "Why do I feel like your attitude towards me has changed?"

Xueling was momentarily taken aback, then gave a self-deprecating smile. The last time she encountered Chu Yuan, she didn't quite grasp the rules of this world and didn't think much of him. But after gaining new insights, she naturally began to weigh the pros and cons. Though she had her pride, she wasn't blindly arrogant; she understood the importance of assessing the situation.

Previously, she only knew him as a prince, but now she realized he was a force to be reckoned with, someone even the current emperor couldn't control, let alone someone like her, who was often looked down upon.

But was her change in attitude that obvious? Was he really that perceptive?

Chu Yuan tapped the table, speaking in a low voice, "I'll allow you to act as you did before. I won't hold it against you."

Xueling was speechless. Did he have a penchant for being challenged? Or was it because everyone else only ever flattered him, that encountering someone who dared to be aloof made his heart race uncontrollably?

The thought sent a chill down Soong Xueling's spine, and her demeanor naturally turned cold again. "If you have no business here, please leave. I don't have time for idle chatter."

Chu Yuan's lips curled slightly, but his tone became serious. "Miss Soong, while you were unconscious, I already examined your condition."
