C10 Chapter 10

A blush suddenly crept on her face and she quickly removed his hands from her wrist.

"It's no big deal. You're welcome" She said and quickly ran off before he could notice that she was blushing.

Dan's lips suddenly curved to a small smile but he quickly composed himself but Ethan saw him anyway.

"Hmmn.." Ethan scoffed and faked a cough.

"And here I thought that she is just a friend" Ethan teased and Dan glared at him.

"Just drive!" He snapped at him and Ethan chuckled.

"My eyes are on you brother!" He said and Dan sighed.

"Drive you troublesome brat!" He snapped and Ethan chuckled and started driving off immediately.

Melanie quickly packed all her stuff and walked out of the office.

It was already 10pm and her shift ends now to begin at 9am tomorrow . She walked to the parking lot slowly remembering what happened today. Then she started hearing some voices.

"That darn brat, I wonder why he is here. Alfred and him weren't on good terms so why would he will everything to him. He gave him 95%of his assets and left me 3% person and then gave you 2%!" The person said angrily and Melanie stopped on her tracks immediately she heard that.

"Wait Alfred, isn't that Kim Dan's father, the owner and founder of the hospital" She thought.

"What are they talking about?" She asked herself.

"Yeah, we need to use him to get close to him and then once we get his signature, we will..."

Melanie's bag suddenly fell down cause a thud. She gasped and quickly picked it up before she tip toed slowly and hid behind another car.

"Wait someone is listening" The caller said and took a few steps closer. Melanie's heart kept on beating faster and she closed her eyes praying that she should not be caught.

The caller looked around and when he found nothing, he stopped. He then spoke on his phone again.

"I will brief you about it tomorrow" He said and looked around again making sure that the coast was clear and then he hung up and then entered his car and drove off.

Melanie stood up panting heavily. She entered into her car hurriedly and drove off.

"What was that about?" Melanie said and then drove more faster.

Chelsea sighed as she dalied Melanie's number for the umpteenth time.

Just as she was giving up, Melanie opened the door and walked in.

"Babe, you want me to go crazy!!" She yelled and Melanie scoffed but quickly ran to her and hugged her.

"Why do I have a feeling that something is bothering you?" She said.

"Is it your nightmare?" She added.

"No.." Melanie replied. She didn't want to trouble her so she just said another thing.

"Chels, you won't believe? My bossy boss thanked me!" She said and disengaged from the hug and shrugged while Chels laughed.

"And I also met his brother today, I mean he's totally different from his brother.

His brother is such a lively person and he thought I was his girlfriend" she said and laughed at the thought.

"Me? A whole Melanie? Be a girlfriend to that arrogant coldhearted guy? Never" She said and breathed out. Chelsea came and sat beside her with a mischievous smirk.

"But come to think of it, is your boss handsome?" She asked and Melanie scoffed quickly.

"Yuck! He isn't at all" She said.

"Mel, from your expression, I'm sure he is. I can't wait to see this boss of yours" Chelsea said.

"Once you meet him, you will hate him. I just hate him" She said in gritted teeth.

"That's how love always starts. we've always watched it in the dramas" She said and Melanie looked at her - no glared at her.

"Shut up" She muttered.

"Your hatred for him is your love"She said and ran away off. Melanie just shook her head and but then she remembered what happened earlier and she sighed.

"What was that about?" She thought.
