C13 Chapter 13

Melanie met Dan examining Rose. She smiled and walked towards them. She looked at him for some seconds and then she smiled.

"He's actually a nice person, he just acts so grouchy.."

"And why are you smiling Doc Melanie?" Dan asked and she sighed.

She's not ready for his tantrums again.

"Nothing special but can't I smile?" She asked him with a sly smile and then rolled her eyes and she turned to face Rose.

"Good morning Rose" She said with a bright smile.

"Goof Morning Doc.." Rose said with a nod.

Suddenly Dan's phone rang and he moved aside to receive the call.

"How was your night?" She asked Rose.

"It was fine" She nodded. Melanie smiled and touched her hair and immediately a strand of it fell off. She wasn't so surprised but this shows that they need to start with the treatment immediately.

Rose noticed it and smiled sadly.

"Yeah, it started coming off yesterday" She said and Melanie smiled at her.

"You will get through this. Just be patient and have faith in God" She said and patted her shoulder lightly.

"You know you are really a good doctor. You really encouraged me even when your boss didn't" She said looking at Dan and Melanie glanced at him and then looked back at her and then smiled.

"Do you know it's because of his stupid illness that I broke up with my boyfriend" She said and her eyes widened.

"What?" She said.

"Yeah, but I broke up with him in the meanest way ever.

" I called him worthless and called him names. I didn't want him to suffer seeing me like this so I just wanted him to go. We were both madly in love with each other until this deadly illness came off. I was even pregnant for him but I had to have a miscarried abortion because of the illness and to be honest that was the biggest mistake of my life. I really regret doing it now" Rose said as tears dropped from her eyes. She quickly wiped them off.

"I should be strong" She said with a chuckle and Melanie watched her pitifully.

Melanie smiled and held her hands.

"Yeah, you should be strong so you can get through this. You can. You can fight to be make it and be alive for your loved ones, hmmm.." She said with an assuring smile.

"Thank you Doc Melanie, you are too nice actually.." Rose said and Melanie chuckled.

"And you know, It's weird but..." Rose paused and studied Dan the more.

"He has a little remembrance to your boss that I even wonder if they are related" She added and Melanie furrowed her brows.

"What's his name?" She asked curiously.

"Enough with the chit chat" Dan interrupted them and Melanie scoffed.

* He's started with his bossy attitude again*

Melanie rolled her eyes but then stopped when she remembered yesterday's occurrence.

"Should she inform him later?" She asked herself.

"But would she not be risking her life by doing that?" She thought further.

"Maybe I'll tell him later and besides it might mean nothing!" She thought and shrugged
