C16 Chapter 16

What's she doing?"* He thought.

Melanie quickly got hold of herself and pulled away. She could see the shock written on his face.

"I'm sorry, I just got carried away" She said with her head bowed and he nodded.

"It's okay, are you fine. Were you injured?" He asked and Melanie looked up.

*He's really concerned about me, I didn'texpect that* She thought.

"I'm fine thanks" She said.

He nodded.

"Good night.." He said and made to leave but Melanie was quick to grab his wrist. He turned back and looked at her surprised.

"Don't leave me here all alone. Who knows if another burglar might come again, I'm scared" She said shaking and looking left and right.

Dan was almost tempted to laugh, seeing this cute side of hers was so funny.

"Please can you take me home" She pouted blinking her eyes and Dan sighed.

*What did I get myself into?* He asked himself.

"Please, you can't just leave me here?" She said .

"Fine ..." He sighed.

"Come on let's go.." He muttered walking away while Melanie quickly followed him scared that another burglar might show up.

The ride home was a silent and boring one. Neither of the both of them could bring up a topic though they exchanged occasional glances at it.

"I find this ride so weird. Gosh! He's so boring" Melanie thought and secretly rolled her eyes. The car suddenly halted and that's when Melanie noticed that they were at her home. Well, he used a Google map so that's why he was fast.

Melanie was quick to get down from the car and Dan did the same staring at her environment.

*It looks decent enough* He thought.

"Thank you for today Dan" She said and bowed her head slightly while he scoffed.

"Dan..." He muttered.

She turned to leave but abruptly turned back.

"Will you like to have some ramen (Korean noodles) before you go?" She asked.

"Oh! That junk food, I don't eat it thanks" He said and she rolled her eyes.

"It's a delicacy. I'm sure you will love it" And besides I don't want to owe you any debt" She muttered angrily and Dan shrugged.

"He thinks so highly of himself!" She said.

"Fine, let's see what so special about that, that even my brother disturbs me for" He said coldly and Melanie glared at him but replaced it with a smile.

*I wish I can mix laxatives to it so he can visit the rest room all night but I won't because he saved me* She thought as she opened the door.

Thankfully Chelsea being the good girl she was already arranged the house.

"Why did I even follow her here? I should have just refused?" He thought staring at her not so large spaced living room.

"I will be right back!" She said and hurried off while Dan was busy looking around. He didn't know why he couldn't say no to her stupid request.

*I'm sure she is bewitching me!" He thought. His eyes caught a photo frame that was placed on the table.

It was placed backwards, so he couldn't see it. He didn't know why the picture suddenly piqued his interest.

As he made to get it, Melanie came out with a pot of rameyeon and Kimchi and placed it on the dining table.(note that these are Korean dishes)

"Here it is" She announced and he immediately turned.

He walked towards her and she immediately drew out a seat, she unconsciously placed her hands on his shoulders and made him seat and Dan's eyes widened.

"Are you aware that I'm your boss?" He suddenly asked and she shook her head.

"You're Dan here and not my boss. Your bossiness ended with my shift" She said with a smile and Dan wondered if she had gone nuts.

"Here enjoy" She said and pushed the plate to him as he stared at the noodles with a disgusted look on his face.

*Kim Dan, Eat it and get it over with or your stupid doctor won't let you rest" He thought. He took his chopsticks and took the noodles and slowly but gently put it into his mouth.

The disgusted look on his face changed to a surprised one. He looked at Melanie who gave him a knowing smile.

"I told you" She said and added more Kimchi to it and Dan started eating more now while Melanie smiled.

She noticed some food particles on his mouth and she stretched her hand and cleaned it and that single act alone made Dan's heart skip.

Dan immediately looked at her and she returned the stare, almost staring at each other for a minute , it was like a slow moment to them until Dan suddenly stood up and wiped his mouth with his handkerchief.

He didn't know what happened to him earlier and he didn't like it at all.

"I will be going now" He said awkwardly and Melanie immediately nodded. The two of them walked out quietly and Melanie watched Dan drive out.

"What was that?" She yelled and held her racing heart.

"I totally felt like a fool there" She said and rushed in.

She leaned on the door and remembered the events earlier and she screamed. The door suddenly sprang open and Melanie fell on the floor.

Chelsea came in and saw Melanie on the floor.

"Mel, are you okay?' She asked Melanie who had already scattered her hair.

"I don't know" She muttered absent minded and Chelsea sighed and looked over to the dining table.

"Did you have a visitor?" She asked.

"Yes, I treated my boss to have rameyeon ( Korean noodles) with me" She said still absent minded.

"What?!" Chelsea screamed and panicking Melanie stood up.

"You shouldn't have done that, when a lady invites a man to gave rameyeon at her house, it means that she is seducing him!!!!!" Chelsea yelled .

"What? What the hell?!!" Melanie yelled back at her with her eyes wide opened.

(Note also that this some kind of Korean belief)
