C29 Chapter 29

They both got down from the car and rushed in immediately ignoring the stares from the people nearby.

They got to her room and met some of the doctors working on her. She was already sedated.

"Doc Judy, have you performed any test on her?" He asked and she nodded and passed him her file. He glanced at Melanie and checked it. A low sigh escaped his lips and he shook his head.

"Doc Melanie, we have no choice but to perform surgery on her.." He said and Melanie sighed.

He faced Doc Judy.

"Inform her parents of her recent condition and tell them we have no other choice but to perform surgery. She needs her guardian here to sign the documents in case she doesn't make it.." He said and Melanie's eyes widened.

She had never been so attached to a patient like she was to Rose and she hoped that she would make it.

"I will be right back..." He said to Melanie.

"I'll come with you..." She added and they both went out. They were surprised to find Ethan and Chelsea waiting anxiously. But Melanie was even more surprised to see Chelsea.

"Chelsea m, you're here?" She said and hugged her. She nodded.

"Yeah Ethan is my friend..." She added with a brief smile.

"How's she? Is she going to make it?" Ethan asked him and Dan sighed.

"We are not sure yet but just need to be hopeful..." Dan said and Ethan sighed and almost stumbled but Chelsea was quick to hold him.

"Are you okay?" She asked him worriedly.

"Yeah, I am.." He said trying to hold the tears that were brimming in his eyes.

He was the cause of everything in the first place, maybe if he didn't come into her life. She wouldn't be like this.." He thought.

"Can I see now?" He asked and Dan nodded.

Dan was in the laboratory performing some tests. He was bothered about Rose because he knew her chances of surviving was very low. But yet, he would try everything in his power to help and leave the rest to God.

He sighed but then his lips curved into a smile when he remembered her. She always managed to make him smile. He stood up and walked out bringing his phone out of his pocket. He already misses her.

Now he understands why people say it's Crazy to be in love. Yeah, he was already running crazy for her.

He passed by the ladies changing room when he heard some voices.

"Let me go you bastard. Leave me!!" He heard a female yell. He knew that voice. It was Melanie. He opened the thought with a thud and the most shocking sight of his life.

Jacob had pinned Melanie on the wall trying to have his way with her. Her hair was scattered and her clothes were almost torn, her face was already red from crying.

"He dared touch Melanie, NOT ANYBODY ELSE BUT HER, HIS MELANIE.."

He balled his fists angrily. That's the main he reason he doesn't like getting angry. There was a tendency he was going to violent.

He moved suddenly towards them with a sudden speed. He grabbed Jacob by his collar from behind and before Jacob could even regain his senses, a hard punch landed on his lips and Melanie gasped and moved backwards.

She looked at Dan taken aback, he was looking Dangerous, looking like a beast.

Jacob stood up suddenly after regaining his composure and hit Dan on his lips bruising his lips in the process.

Dan stared at him angrily and grabbed us collar and started punching him repeatedly.

"You are jerk, trying to fixed yourself on my woman and in my own hospital!" He yelled as he continued to punch until Jacob fell to the ground half conscious. Blood was already splashed on the ground d and Jacob's face was badly bruised, he was coughing out blood.

"How dare you touch her?!" He yelled and grabbed his collar before raining him punches again until he was almost at the verge of passing out.

Melanie seeing that it was getting out of hand and ran towards him and back hugged him tightly.

"Stop it or you might kill him..." She said softly and Dan felt his anger calming down bit by bit.

He got off him and brought out his phone and dalied a number.

"There's a pest here in the ladies Changing room, come clear him off and you know what you need to do" He said and hung up.

He turned to face Melanie. He was angry with her, he was angry with her that she couldn't protect herself from him. It was not his first attempt..

He dragged her by her wrist and pulled her away forcefully.

"Dan, wait...." Melanie said but he refused to say any thing.

He got to his office and kicked the door open with a thud and he dragged her in. He left her hand and walked up to his sweater. He sat down on it and sighed while Melanie watched him not knowing what to do. She didn't know what force moved her closer to him. She sighed and touched his shoulder but he removed her hand.

"Are you upset with me?" She slowly asked.

"Yes!" He yelled and she flinched.

"You look and you act like you are tough but yet you are still weak. I'm sure that's not the first time that Jacob has done that to you. You should have tried to defend yourself. What if he had succeeded, huh?!" He yelled and sighed breathing erratically.

Melanie sighed and bit her lower lip and here she was thinking he wasn't genuine of his feelings. She knows now how much he cared about her.

"I'm sorry.. I,, i just get some antiseptic and cotton wool for your wound.." She said and made to leave when he suddenly grabbed her wrist and pulled her towards him and in the process she landed on his laps. Their faces very close.

She batted her eyelashes and muttered.

"I'm sorry.."

She slowly caressed his lips with her thumb.

"Does it hurt?" She asked.

"Hmmn, only if you kiss me. The pain will subside.." He said with a smirk and she smiled and crashed her lips on his, she was about to pull away but Dan didn't let her do it. He deepened the kiss not letting her go. After a while he broke the kiss.

He smiled slowly and placed his forehead over hers, their breath fanning each other.

"I seriously don't know how or when I started liking you. It was a shock to me that I could fall in love with such a crazy girl. But you know, if some thing bad happens to you, I won't be able to take it. I know you might not believe me but I love you, I really do, damn much. I love you so much.." He said and Melanie Melanie didn't even know when tears started to fall from her eyes. He smiled again and took her lips in again and Melanie couldn't help but reciprocate. Her hands slowly found it's way into his hair and she tugged at it.
