C31 Chapter 31

Dan please stay with me.." She cried running along with the stretcher that was being wheeled inside.

"Please you can't leave me now, I love you. I love you so much. Kim Dan, you have to stay alive for me. please Dan..." She cried.

They got to the theatre and Doc Anderson( Melanie's senior) rushed Dan in.

Melanie fell on the floor, her clothes were covered in blood. Whimpering and crying at the same time, she clasped her hands together praying that Dan will be safe.

Just then Ethan, Chelsea and Rose who was was wheeled in by a wheelchair came in.

Ethan rushed up to her hurriedly.

'Unnie(Older Sister)what the hell happened to hyung(Older Brother)?" He asked.

"I don't know, I just don't know. I don't know to explain it because it was all just sudden.

" We were just talking when all of a sudden, he swapped positions with me and then I just heard a gunshot. He was already shot.." She said and Chelsea helped her up.

"Calm down, let's just hope and pray that it will be fine..." Ethan said but deep down inside, he was really scared. Dan was the only family he had, his useless Dad deserted him. So how could he lose Dan.

"I can't calm down causes it's all my fault. It's my fault that Dan is in thus condition. I think the gunshot was meant for me but he took it instead. I won't be able to forgive myself if anything happens to him..." She cried and Chelsea patted her back.

"Calm down Mel, just hope. He will be fine. Just calm down.

The door opened and Doc Anderson along with other doctors came out.

"How's he?" She immediately asked.

"We managed to stop the bleeding but he is not out of danger. The bullet is very close to his brain and if we don't perform surgery on him. He won't survive though the chances of him surviving the surgery is very very slim but we would still try our best and leave the rest to God.." He said and Melanie busted into another round of tears.

Doc Anderson turned to leave but Melanie voice stopped him.

"I will perform the surgery..." She said end he turned back and a frown appeared on his face. He squinted his eyes and then looked at her intently before asking.

What do you mean?" He asked.

"I said I will perform the surgery Doc Anderson, I'll do it well I promise" She said.

"Look Melanie, I understand that you are one of the best surgeons in this hospital and moreover you learnt under Doc Dan but you are not in the right state nor position to do so..." He explained.

"But...

Doc Anderson came closer to her and whispered to her ears.

"I'm aware of the relationship the both of you share so don't you be so persistent.." He said and Melanie saw him glare at her.

He smiled and Melanie could tell that if was fake.

Looking at her one more time, he walked into the theatre.

Fours hours later.

Melanie who had being restless all this time couldn't hold it in any more. She wanted to know what happened to Dan.

Ethan kept patting her shoulder every second.

Suddenly noises was heard and all of them stood up.

It was a sound from a walking stick. Melanie looked down from his glittering shoes to his fine suit and then his face.

Ethan was surprised.

'What are you doing here?!" Ethan asked rudely surprising every one.

The man smiled and shook his head.

"Why do you look like you don't miss me, son.." He said and Ethan scoffed while Melanie gasped.

"Get out of here! He doesn't need your fake sympathy.." He yelled and Chelsea held him.

"Calm down..." She whispered and he sighed.

"And who are they?" Rodger said lifting his aid stick at Melanie and Chelsea.

"You don't need to know them..." Ethan muttered rudely.

"Are you his girlfriend?" He asked pointing his aid stick to Melanie who scoffed.

"Sir, as you can see we are worried about Dan here so can you please keep your questions for now!" Melanie said.

"Wow! Feisty!" He thought

"Dan made a good choice but you won't last long.." He muttered.

The door opened and Doc Anderson came out with the other doctors.

He looked at Rodger and a quick smile escaped his lips but he was quick to hide it but Melanie had already noticed it.

She looked at him and then at the strange man suspiciously.

Something was weird between them.

"How's he?" She asked.

"We managed to remove the bullet but we can say if he safe because he is in a coma but if he doesn't wake up in the next 48 hours, I'm sorry but he is in danger..." Doc Anderson said and Melanie sniffed.

"Can we see him now?" She asked.

"Yeah but be very careful around him..." Doc Anderson muttered.

"And miss, why do you act like you are his wife. Aren't we the family member supposed to see him..." Rodger said.

"He doesn't need somebody like you..." Ethan muttered.

"Try stopping me if you can..." Melanie said coldly.

"Unnie, you can go in. I will come in after you.." Ethan said and she nodded and walked in.

"That brat..." Rodger cursed under his breath.
