C33 Chapter 33

"Who are you?" He asked and immediately Melanie's eyes widened. Her heart racing fast than she could imagine.

"What? What are you saying?" She stuttered as tears rolled down her cheeks.

"Dan, what are you saying? Don't you know Me? I'm Melanie?" She said with a choked voice.

"Aish!" He groaned again and held her forehead.

"I don't know you..." He said looking away while Melanie stood up shocked shaking her head.

"No, no this can't be happening.?" She thought.

*What the hell happened to him? Why can't he recognise me any more? No, this can't be happening?"* She muttered as more tears fell from her eyes while Dan watched her with an untold emotion.

"Dan, what do you mean? How can you forget me Dan? It's me Melanie! Your Melanie? How can you forget so easily.." She said almost bursting into tears.

"Aaargh!" Dan groaned and held his forehead.

"I'm sorry but I don't know you. I can't even remember your face, please just go. I don't know you at all!" He said and Melanie gulped hard.

She felt like bursting into tears and moment from now and she couldn't do it here.

"You have to remember me.." She thought and smiled.

As soon as she turned to leave, he held her wrist and she turned to look at him. There was a wide smile playing on his lips and before she knew it, he laughed.

Melanie's eyes widened.

"He was actually joking. He remembered her. He did..." Her heart screamed happily and before she knew it, she jumped on him hugging him tightly while he chuckled.

"So you thought I forgot you, huh?" He said softly caressing her hair while tears rushed from her eyes. She raised her head from his chest and hit him lightly.

"You are bad, did you know how scared you made me..." She pouted with her eyes red.

"I actually thought you forgot me. That made my heart almost stop breathing...'" She said and held her chest as she breathed out heavily.

Dan raised his hand and caressed her cheeks lovingly.

"I'm sorry... hmmn... "

"I just decided to pull your legs.." He said and She smiled.

"I'm glad that you made it or else.." She said and he smiled again.

"I'm alive, aren't I?" He asked and she nodded.

"You look like you didn't get enough sleep?" He said noticing the dark circles under her eyes

"uhm!, why would I? You were in a such bad state, you almost lost your life Kim Dan and that too because of me. I know you sensed something that's why you swapped positions with me. I feel really guilty and really so bad knowing I'm the one causing all these trouble for you.." She said.

Groaning he gently sat up looking at her and gently he holds her hands and made her sit at the edge of the bed.

"I will gladly take another bullet to save you. That's because I love you really damn much... I told you earlier right..." He said cupping her cheeks and Melanie smiled.

"I love you too.." She said and his eyes widened.

"What did you just say?" He asked unsure.

"I love you..." She said with smiles.

"Wait, are you serious or..." He didn't complete his statement when she pecked him on the lips.

"I love you Kim Dan, I can't believe I fell for my bossy boss.." She laughed and he chuckled and hugged her lightly.

"Dan..." She called.

'Hmmn..."

"Somebody is after your life " She said her head still on his chest.

"I know..." He said and she raised her head to look at him slightly while he pecked her lips.

"Wait, how?" She asked him.

"I heard someone talking about killing me in my sleep. The voice was so familiar but I couldn't pinpoint who!" He said with a far away look in his eyes.

I heard him say countless time that he would kill me and take my wealth. I mean who does that? My Dad left me all that after his death..." He said and scoffed slightly.

"And I'm sorry for telling you this late. I also overheard some one talking on the phone about your father giving you all his wealth but I didn't know who it was.." She said and Dan sighed.

"Do you know your uncle is around and here?" Melanie said again and hearing that he immediately stiffened.

"Why? Why is here?" He asked. He remembered the time when he asked him to see him but he wasn't in the mood.

*Uncle is just like father. Birds of the same feather..."* He thought and Just then the door swung open and Melanie made to get off Dan but he held her waist firmly.

"What are you doing? They might see us..."

"I know and I don't care baby..." He said with a wink before kissing her lips lightly while she chuckled and buried his face on her chest blushing embarrassingly.

"Wow! You're awake and the first thing you thought to do was to romance.." Rodger's voice came through and Dan's grip tightened on Melanie's hand.

She knew he was getting angry and she wanted him to calm down.

"What are you doing here?" He cut him with a cold look.

Rodger ignored his question and spoke more in order to infuriate him.

"Dan, I admit you gat a taste in choosing women but this pesky little thing, who is she? Who are her parents?" He said and Dan gently released his grip on Melanie.

"Don't mind him, Dan. You are just recovering..." She said but he ignored her and pushed her off gently. He carefully but painfully removed the wires of the drip attached to him and walked slowly to Rodger as memories started to flood his head.

"This batard..." He thought. He moved closer to him and suddenly grabbed him by his collar since they were both the same height just that Rodger was a little taller.

Melanie gasped seeing the sight .

"I dare you to say another word against my woman..." He said his gaze hardened and cold while Rodger stared at him in complete shock.
