C2 Being Forced to Take Medicine
After a pause, Yeh Beijin added, "I want to know everything she's been through since she was a child."
The next morning.
Yang Wanwan left her house as usual, pretending to head to work, but after a series of twists and turns, she ended up at the park. This puzzled Yeh Beijin, who was following her from a distance.
"What is she doing?" he wondered aloud.
The assistant in the passenger seat was equally confused. "Maybe she's here to exercise?"
Watching her slender figure, Yeh Beijin felt a mix of emotions he couldn't quite articulate.
"Ding."
The assistant glanced at his phone and then turned to Yeh Beijin. "Sir, the investigation results are in."
"Go on," Yeh Beijin replied coolly.
"Yes," the assistant nodded, eyes on his phone. "Yang Wanwan, father Yang Li, mother Muh Wanxiu, born in..."
"What did you say her mother's name is?" Yeh Beijin's eyes suddenly sharpened.
His voice turned icy, his expression serious, and his amber eyes were filled with coldness.
The assistant swallowed nervously and said, "Muh Wanxiu."
"Muh Wanxiu?"
Could it really be such a coincidence?
"It better not be the Muh Wanxiu I know," Yeh Beijin sneered. "Do you have a photo?"
"No photo, but there's an ID picture," the assistant replied cautiously, glancing at Yeh Beijin. "Would you like to see it, sir?"
Yeh Beijin didn't say a word but simply gestured with his finger, prompting his assistant to quickly hand over the phone.
On the screen was a photo of a woman in her fifties, her face adorned with a gentle smile and a soft glow that made her seem as kind as she appeared.
"It really is her," Yeh Beijin murmured, tapping the phone lightly as a slight furrow formed on his brow.
The assistant held his breath.
Yeh Beijin turned to look at Yang Wanwan, a fleeting emotion passing through his light-colored eyes. He watched her quietly for a moment before looking away and resting his head in his hand.
"Go, bring her a morning-after pill," he instructed.
The assistant hesitated briefly, then quickly got out of the car. After purchasing the pill as fast as he could, he found Yang Wanwan.
Yeh Beijin remained in the car, never glancing at Yang Wanwan again, but his furrowed brow made it clear he was in a foul mood.
Meanwhile, Yang Wanwan stared at the stranger who had suddenly appeared, telling her to take the pill, unsure of how to react.
"What do you mean?"
"Morning-after pill," the assistant said curtly. "Take it."
Yang Wanwan's heart skipped a beat as she suddenly recalled what happened the previous night. "Who are you?"
Though she couldn't clearly remember what happened later in the night, she distinctly recalled the face of the man who opened the door—it wasn't the person standing in front of her now.
"Who I am isn't your concern, Miss Yang. I doubt you'd want to be an unwed mother, and I'm sure your father wouldn't want that either."
The assistant pushed the birth control pills closer. "It's for your own good. Take them."
Yang Wanwan's hands clenched unconsciously as she stubbornly lifted her gaze. "Just because you say they're birth control pills doesn't mean they are. I'm not taking them."
The assistant didn't react much, simply pulling his hand back silently. "Miss Yang, you should take them yourself, or I might have to help you."
Though his words were threatening, his tone was gentle, and the seriousness in his eyes showed he wasn't joking. He was clearly sent to do this, but the real person behind it...
Yang Wanwan casually glanced around, finally locking eyes on a black Maybach parked by the roadside. Her clear gaze fixed on the car, and inside, Yeh Beijin was watching her too. Even though he knew she couldn't see him, Yeh Beijin adjusted his posture slightly.
"Miss Yang, please..."
Before the assistant could finish, Yang Wanwan bolted toward Yeh Beijin's car.
"Damn it!" The assistant was momentarily stunned before scrambling to chase after her. But he underestimated Yang Wanwan's speed; before he could catch up, she'd already opened the car door.
Yeh Beijin was startled by Yang Wanwan.
He stared at her, expressionless, as something inside him fluttered slightly.
"It's you!"
Yang Wanwan pressed her lips together. "Did you investigate me?"
The answer was obvious.
"I'm sorry, sir, it was me..." The assistant was sweating bullets but was cut off by Yeh Beijin raising his hand.
With a wave, the assistant and driver got the hint and left.
"Get in," Yeh Beijin said, shifting slightly to indicate she should sit next to him.
"No need. We can talk right here," Yang Wanwan replied, not intending to get in the car. "We're strangers. Just say what you need to."
Her assertiveness was something Yeh Beijin wasn't used to.
His brow twitched slightly as he reached out, grabbing her wrist and pulling her into the car with a gentle force.
"I don't like disobedience."
Yang Wanwan fell against him, scrambling to get up and jump out, but Yeh Beijin was quicker, shutting the door and trapping her between him and the seat.
They were so close that Yang Wanwan could see her reflection in his eyes, those amber eyes so stunning they took her breath away.
Watching her face turn red, Yeh Beijin felt something inside him slowly soften.
"Be a good girl and take your medicine."
His words snapped Yang Wanwan out of her daze, and the flush on her face slowly faded.
"What if I don't?"
"You'll have to take it eventually. It's more comfortable if you do it yourself." Yeh Beijin leaned back, watching Yang Wanwan with a relaxed gaze. "Just listen."
His tone was more reassuring than commanding.
Yang Wanwan let out a cold laugh. "Afraid I'll end up pregnant with your child?"
Yeh Beijin remained silent.
"Don't worry," Yang Wanwan continued. "I'm not interested in that either. I already took the pill yesterday. Goodbye, and I hope we never cross paths again."
As she moved to get out of the car, Yeh Beijin grabbed her wrist once more.
"Wait."
