C8 Escape
The man was closing in, and Yang Wanwan seized the moment to get up, mustering all her strength to slam him to the ground before sprinting away.
"That woman actually got away!" came the man's furious shout from behind. Wanwan's feet seemed to fly as she ran, realizing for the first time just how powerful the human survival instinct could be.
But ultimately, a woman’s physical strength often doesn’t match a man's. As the man drew closer, Wanwan's anxiety grew, her eyes burning with desperation.
In her escape, she accidentally collided with someone, leading to the current situation.
"Ha, thought you could run? Let's see how far you can get!" The man's arrogant words sent a shiver down Wanwan's spine. Luo Yi, witnessing the scene, frowned deeply.
In this chaotic place, incidents like this were common, and the onlookers were merely entertained by the spectacle.
"Didn't know there were still such brazen kidnappers around these days."
The man's cold voice matched his even colder expression, exuding a bloodthirsty aura that made the group of men tremble.
"And who are you supposed to be? Trying to play hero? Let's see if you’ve got what it takes..." The man didn't finish his sentence before Luo Yi cut him off with a powerful punch, the force of which stirred the air around them. The man was sent sprawling several yards away, left with no strength to fight back, only able to moan in pain.
The other men were stunned by the scene.
Yang Wanwan shivered in fear, almost certain she heard the faint sound of bones cracking. It couldn't just be her imagination.
"Is this enough?" Luo Yi asked coldly, his foot planted firmly on the man's chest. His expression was indifferent, as if nothing could faze him.
"Enough, enough... Please, sir, have mercy! I won't dare do it again!" The man clung desperately to Luo Yi's leg, pleading for forgiveness.
"Get lost!"
In no time, the thugs scattered like they were on greased wheels.
Yang Wanwan let out a sigh of relief, her body relaxing. She looked up at the man before her and thanked him, "Thank you so much for what you did."
Suddenly, her legs gave out, and already exhausted, she collapsed to the ground in a heap.
Meanwhile, Yeh Beijin returned to the family home with a stormy expression.
As he opened the door, he saw his mother on the phone.
"What? You messed this up?! You can't even handle something so simple. What use are you to me?"
"Hmph, someone intervened and saved her. Clearly, your skills are lacking, a bunch of..." Before she could finish, Mother Yeh noticed Beijin standing in the doorway.
His body tensed suddenly but quickly relaxed again.
"What did you have them do to her?" Beijin demanded angrily, his usually calm voice tinged with an unrecognized tension.
"Why are you so concerned about that woman? She's just the daughter of a nobody. Is she really worth it?" Mother Yeh countered.
"She's my woman. We've been together, and she might be carrying my child. Do you think she's worth it now?"
"What? That woman might be having your child?" Mother Yeh reacted as if she'd heard something unbelievable, swaying slightly, struggling to keep her balance.
"Believe it or not, I will protect her no matter what," Beijin declared with unwavering determination, as if making a lifelong vow.
But a lifetime is long, and who can guarantee what the future holds, right? When the brutal truth is laid bare, how can these promises be fulfilled?
Beijin looked at her with a hint of reluctance, but remembering how he had been under her control for years, along with what Mother Yeh had done to Wanwan, he steeled his heart.
As Beijin left, he received a call from his assistant.
"Sir, we've found Miss Yang's whereabouts..." The assistant's voice was hesitant, struggling to continue.
"Hurry up and spill it."
"Miss Yang... she was taken to the Imperial Nightclub by a group of men," the assistant, Ye, reluctantly admitted.
Taken to the nightclub? Yeh Beijin felt like he was on the brink of losing it. His lips pressed into a tight line, and his large hands gripped the phone so hard that the veins on the back of his hands stood out, as if he was struggling to contain something.
"Get more people. Drive to the Imperial," Yeh Beijin ordered through clenched teeth, his expression beyond furious.
"Yes, sir."
Listening to the boss's tone, it seemed like he was ready to tear apart the people who kidnapped Miss Yang. Ye couldn't help but take a sharp breath.
Luxury cars sped down South China Road at breakneck speed, causing a stir along the way.
Our big boss Yeh had no idea that his actions were seen by others as blatant flaunting of wealth.
"Wow, having money is something else, huh? Driving not just one, but a whole fleet."
"Yeah, these days, that's how you show off."
"Who is that? All those cars, what a show-off!"
If Yeh Beijin heard these comments, he would probably scowl and be tempted to throw a punch.
Arriving at the Imperial Nightclub, Yeh Beijin parked his luxury car and led his entourage straight into the venue.
"Conduct a thorough search and find that woman immediately," Beijin commanded with the authority of a king, emotions swirling in his amber eyes.
"Yes, sir." The team responded promptly, launching a comprehensive search.
A few minutes later:
"Report: No sign of her."
"Report: Still no trace."
"Report: Word is she was taken by a man."
In the next moment, Beijin's eyes narrowed dangerously, his gaze as cold and deep as a dark, ancient well.
