C9 Linglong

As the night deepened, I took a deep breath and fell asleep.

Faintly asleep, a figure appeared in my dreams. I took a closer look and saw that it was the short-sleeved woman from before.

She suddenly smiled at me and said in a sinister voice, "My name is Ling Long."

After saying that, she quickly walked towards me and extended her hand towards my chest. I hurriedly retreated, tightly protecting the family jade pendant in front of my chest. When she saw this, she chuckled.

I wanted to keep moving back, but there was no way out. I wasn't going to die in a dream, was I?

I sighed softly and closed my eyes.

The expected pain did not happen. The jade pendant on her chest suddenly emitted a red light. The woman called Linglong took a few steps back and then disappeared.

At that moment, I heard a knock on the door and woke up from my dream.

The door was pushed open and the person who entered was my mother. I looked towards my mother with some suspicion. My mother had a serious expression on her face as she slowly walked to my bed. According to my mother, something seemed to have happened outside.

However, not long after he left, he saw a woman pestering the yellow skin in front of him.

When I saw the woman's appearance, I couldn't help but cry out in alarm. This woman was the one who had beaten up Grandma at the market.

When my mother saw this, she rushed forward and pushed the woman away. Then she picked up a random root from the ground and went up to the tree and beat at the skin, but she was too careless and stopped for a moment. I saw that my mother's hand had been bitten and shouted anxiously, "Mother, be careful!"

His mother nodded and hit him with all her might. Yellowhide was injured and had to flee.

The woman, seeing her mother do this, did not even say a word of thanks before she ran off.

I didn't pay any attention to the woman. Instead, I went forward and pulled my mother. After a careful look, I discovered that there was a wound on her hand. Under the moonlight, it looked somewhat frightening.

I remembered that there was a medicine specially used to cure this yellow skin. After telling my mother to wait for me here, I quickly ran back home.

Pushing the door open, I hurried to my mother's room and quickly found a bottle of medicine.

As I was walking on the road, I accidentally saw a very familiar figure. It was Old Wu.

I couldn't help but be a little surprised. It was already so late, why was he still hanging around outside?

I could see he was sneaking around, glancing back from time to time. A gust of cold wind passed, and he quickened his pace.

I must have been overflowing with curiosity as I quietly followed behind him.

I followed him to a small room, where I saw him push open the door and enter.

I slowed down and walked over to the window. I saw that he had moved a box away. I put my foot on it and looked inside. It was actually a basement!

I saw him walk into the basement without a word and wait at the door for a long time until I saw him come out again and push the box shut.

After this series of movements, he left the room.

Then I pushed open the door and the box, and before I could go I saw a candle on the table, polished it, and climbed down.

When I reached the basement, I lifted the candle a little higher and looked around.

I slowly walked forward. Somehow, I felt a chill down my spine and goosebumps rose all over my body.

As I walked along, as if I had stepped on something, I shone the candle down into the ground and took a few sudden steps back.

There was, there was a corpse!

I looked at the corpse on the ground and couldn't believe that it was the woman named Ling Long who had appeared in my dreams.

Just as I was about to muster up the courage to look again, my cell phone rang in my pocket.

I took a deep breath and opened my cell phone to find that it was a call from Yellow Bridge.

Yellow Bridge told me that there was something new about their death. The medical examiner found a strange bug in their bodies, and after an examination it was confirmed that it was a corpse.

One of the young doctors was curious and took the bodies taken from them and studied them, saying they must have had something to do with the cause of death.

After hanging up, I was ready to head over to the Yellow Bridge.

I glanced at the body on the floor and crawled out of the basement.

Looking at the medicine in my pocket, I prepared to give it to my mother first. Just as I was about to reach where my mother was, I was suddenly hit on the shoulder.

When I turned around, I saw that it was her. Her eyes were filled with hatred when she looked at me, which confused me.

I was about to open my mouth to speak to her, but she was already swearing at me, saying that the thorn had always been kind to me, that there were no enemies, that I must have killed the thorn.

I asked her why she suspected me, and she said I was the closest to Beard.

I shook my head and told her what Yellow Bridge had told me on the phone.

She calmed down, and when I saw that she had calmed down, I announced to her that I would investigate his brother's death. She nodded.

Actually, from what she said, I also thought of a few things. If someone were to go to his store and fight with him over some stuff, it would be acceptable for them to silence him.

However, since the thorn had always been kind to others, this sort of thing was unlikely to happen.

If he wasn't going to buy anything, then could it be a matter of delivering items?

At this thought, I patted my head and immediately ran forward. I looked back and saw that my sister, who had a thorn in her head, was looking at me with a puzzled expression.

I just smiled at her, patted my chest, and shouted, Don't worry!

My mother was still waiting for me, and I ran fast, forcing the medicine into her hand, and I left.

The voice of my mother calling after me still echoed in the wind, but I ignored it.

It's not that I don't want to, it's just that right now all I have to do is find Yellow Bridge and tell him what I'm thinking.

If he could find the source of the goods, he might be able to investigate a little bit more.

The only person who can help me now is Huang Qiao.

When he found the yellow bridge, he was sitting at home with his head lowered, thinking about something. Unexpectedly, the door was not closed.

Huang Qiao seemed to be able to see through my doubt and smiled at me. "I knew that you were coming, so I didn't close the door."

I replied with a smile and told him why I had come to see him.

I told Yellow Bridge to investigate the source of the item. After a short while, there was a reply, which made me marvel at his ability to negotiate.

The source of the goods was a local property tycoon.
