C20 Defensive System

"Let's check out the other features," Han Feng mused, deciding it was best to familiarize himself with the radar's additional capabilities first.

With Luna at the controls, the display transitioned to the Red Alert Soldiers' detailed profiles.

The Winter Soldier was the first to appear, his ammunition count and physical condition immediately evident.

"This feature allows the commander to easily access each Red Alert Soldier's specifics," Luna explained, then resumed her operation of the radar.

"Commander, the radar is requesting a link to your visual feed. Please confirm."

"Confirmed."

No sooner had Han Feng spoken than the perspective shifted dramatically. He was now looking at the first floor!

Surveying his surroundings, Han Feng realized he was seeing through the eyes of the Winter Soldier.

He issued a mental command to the Winter Soldier.

The soldier exited the villa and started running. Han Feng felt a surge of excitement as he mentally directed every move of the Winter Soldier.

"This enables remote control and shared vision. As long as it's within the radar's monitoring range, you can link up with any Red Alert System's individual units," Luna elaborated for Han Feng.

"What else is there? Any more features?" Han Feng asked eagerly, his excitement palpable as he bombarded Luna with questions.

"Commander, that's all the radar has to offer for now. With an upgrade, you'll gain access to more advanced permissions." After Luna's response, Han Feng had her navigate the radar once more, taking his time to get accustomed to these new features.

Eventually, Han Feng left the radar interface and clicked on the personnel icon.

"No new units with the radar upgrade?" Han Feng queried the system, incredulous.

"That's correct, commander. For new unit deployment, please construct a combat lab."

Han Feng let out a silent sigh upon hearing the system's reply.

"Hmm? What's this..." Just as he was about to exit the system interface, Han Feng's eye caught something intriguing.

Next to the humanoid icon, there was a new shield-shaped symbol. As a die-hard Red Alert fan, he instantly recognized what it signified—a defense system!

With a heart racing and hands trembling, Han Feng clicked on the shield icon, his excitement uncontainable.

"Holy smokes!" he shouted, bolting upright in bed.

"Everything okay?"

"Boss Han? What's going on? Did something happen?"

"Brother-in-law! What's got you so spooked?" Liu Rui and Wei Jia's voices drifted up from the first floor.

"Oh, nothing! I'm all good! You guys go back to sleep, I'm fine." Han Feng reassured them after opening the door, then he shut it again to delve back into the defense system's details.

Walls, pillboxes, and sentry guns! "Wow... impressive..." Han Feng's mouth hung open as he marveled in a whisper.

Clicking through each item, a detailed description unfolded beneath.

– Wall: A robust defensive structure, cast from solid concrete. Impervious to bullets, fire, and crushing forces. Each square meter can withstand up to five tank gun rounds, with a two-meter thickness. Priced at 10 gold coins per 10 meters, and it's recyclable.

– Pillbox: Activates when a single soldier enters. Regardless of troop type, the armed weapon is an M60 machine gun with 5000 rounds. Minimum dimensions are five square meters and two meters in height, with only horizontal firing capabilities—no vertical attacks or repositioning. Effective range: 120 meters, optimal for taking down individual soldiers. Ammo replenishes every 24 hours. Costs 2500 gold coins, and it's recyclable.

– Sentry Gun: Identifies enemy electronic devices and small defensive structures. Armed with a twin-barreled 70 mm Vulcan Cannon and 5000 rounds. Requires a minimum of five square meters and two meters in height, with a 60-degree firing angle. Stationary. Effective range: 300 meters, ideal for neutralizing both infantry and vehicles (cars, tanks). Ammo refreshes every 24 hours. Priced at 5000 gold coins, recyclable.

"Damn... that's steep!" Han Feng's jaw had been slack since he started reading the descriptions and prices.

After a brief pause, he regained his composure and remarked, "Impressive, sure... but way too pricey!"

At the bottom of the introduction, a note read: "All defensive equipment can only be constructed within one kilometer of the base."

"Base? Does that mean this villa we're staying in is the base?" Han Feng queried the system.

"Reporting to the commander, the current residence is now designated as a temporary base. A permanent base will require the construction of physical buildings by the MCV. Once set, the temporary base cannot be changed for a month."

After some thought, Han Feng decided that there was no need for such robust defensive fortifications in a temporary setting. Once the base was established and funds were available, he'd certainly invest more in security!

Filled with excitement, Han Feng continued to navigate the system's interfaces, eager to master all its features.

The next morning, the sun bathed the earth in its warm glow as it always did.

"Ahaha..." Han Feng sat up in bed, stretching lazily. He checked his phone—it was ten o'clock, and still no signal.

Having stayed up late exploring the system's new functions, Han Feng had overslept.

After freshening up, he headed downstairs.

"You're up? Come eat," Wai Yun called out upon seeing Han Feng.

"Sure. By the way, has Lin Lan woken up?" Han Feng asked, concerned about the policewoman's condition.

"Not yet, but she should be fine," Wai Yun replied, heading off to prepare breakfast.

"Still asleep..." Han Feng glanced at the vigilant red police soldiers and mentally commanded the system, "Summon two American soldiers and ten mobilized soldiers. Confirm."

"The system is summoning. Please wait," the system responded. Han Feng then began his breakfast with his bowl and chopsticks in hand.

Han Feng mused that it was better to summon soldiers than to hoard gold coins while fending off zombies. This way, he could quickly increase his gold reserves and feel more secure. Why not? But his stash of gold coins was running low...

After breakfast, the summoned red police soldiers approached Han Feng in a disciplined formation.

He issued a brief command to the new recruits, instructing them to refer to him as Captain Han from now on.

As he watched the imposing figures outside the villa, a profound sense of security enveloped him.

"Winter Soldier Wynne and Number One, fall in!" Han Feng commanded, and the three promptly took their places in the formation.

Currently, there are three American soldiers and twelve mobilized soldiers under Han Feng's command. These fifteen individuals comprise his entire military force.

"American soldiers, fall in! Each of you will take command of four mobilized soldiers to form a squad, making three squads in total. You are the squad leaders. Begin formation now!" Although Han Feng could issue orders telepathically, voicing commands felt more befitting of a commander.

The fifteen soldiers swiftly assembled into their squads, with each American soldier followed by four mobilized soldiers in neat rows. The Winter Soldier and Wynne were teamed up in Squad One.

After inspecting the troops, Han Feng stepped forward and instructed, "Squad Three, fall in! Your duty is to ensure the villa's security. The American squad leaders will organize the watch schedule. Your top priority is the safety of the villa and its inhabitants. Understood?"

"Yes, Captain Han!" the five members of Squad Three responded in unison.

"Squads One and Two, you're with me. When off-duty, you'll rotate with Squad Three. Gear up, we're moving out soon." With that, Han Feng turned and made his way back to the villa.

Once in his room, he addressed Liu Rui, "Hand me two sets of car keys."

The villa complex housed several off-road vehicles. They weren't as robust as the sturdy Hummers, but their power was still formidable. Han Feng had previously gathered a few and parked them at the villa's entrance, ready for use.

He had confirmed with the Winter Soldier and Wynne that the mobilized soldiers couldn't drive, but the American soldiers could. Accompanied by two American soldiers, Han Feng would be able to operate three vehicles.

Taking the keys, Han Feng sought out Wynne and the leader of Squad Two.

"Follow me in the vehicles later. Each car will carry three mobilized soldiers, with the remaining two in my car," Han Feng directed, then after a pause, added, "The Winter Soldier will ride with me."

"Yes, Captain Han," the two American soldiers acknowledged, taking the keys to locate the vehicles.

With preparations complete, Han Feng bid farewell to the group.

"Take care and return soon," Wai Yun expressed with concern.

"Don't worry. I've got plenty of protection. I'll be back by dinner," Han Feng reassured, waving as he headed to his car.

"Sis, there are so many people... How did Boss Han round them all up?" Wai Peng asked, his voice tinged with envy as he watched the cars drive away.
