C25 Supply Box

Following Liu Rui's gaze, Han Feng noticed the police dog behind him. Turning back, he reassured, "It's a military dog. It won't bite, so no need to worry."

With that, Han Feng made his way to the second floor. He paused briefly, then added, "I'm going to rest for a bit. Please don't disturb me for the time being."

"You should eat something first. You missed lunch, and I saved some food for you," Wai Yun told Han Feng.

"I'm not hungry right now. We can talk about it later." With those words, Han Feng vanished around the corner to the second floor.

Once in the second-floor bathroom, Han Feng silently regarded his reflection. His clothes were torn to tatters, clinging to his body, and the stench of blood was overpowering. His bloodshot eyes were enough to instill fear in anyone.

With a soft sigh, Han Feng stripped off his ruined garments and turned on the shower, beginning to wash away the grime.

Ten minutes later, Han Feng entered the bedroom and sat on the edge of the bed, his attention turning to the system.

"Luna, pull up all the details on the soldiers' health and weapon status," he requested. As he finished speaking, the images in his mind shifted, displaying the profiles of each soldier.

Relieved to see that the eleven Red Alert soldiers were in good health and physical condition, Han Feng exhaled in relief.

The weapons were in good shape, except for the ammunition... The weapons of the fallen soldiers were absent from the weapon inventory.

"It looks like once a soldier dies, their weapons become ordinary, no longer replenished with bullets daily nor protected by the system's indestructibility..." Han Feng mused, then instructed, "Scan the surroundings."

This was Han Feng's first proactive use of the radar to scan his environment, a step towards fully understanding the system by experiencing all of its features.

Four days had passed since the zombie outbreak, and there were still functions Han Feng hadn't utilized, including the radar scan.

"The radar is scanning. Please wait," Luna informed him, followed shortly by, "Scanning complete."

Over ten differently colored dots popped up on the radar screen, clearly visible. Aside from the individuals Han Feng was already aware of, no other life forms were detected.

'What's this?'

"What's this?" Han Feng inquired, puzzled by a small golden dot flickering near his position on the radar. Unable to make sense of it, he turned to Luna for an explanation.

"Report to the commander, we've found a supply box."

"A supply box?" Upon hearing Luna's response, Han Feng paused, his confusion prompting him to rise and search.

"Nothing?" Scanning the entire bedroom, Han Feng couldn't spot anything resembling a supply box.

"Enlarge the radar," Han Feng instructed, returning his gaze to the screen.

With the radar zoomed in, the red dot marking Han Feng's position grew larger.

"A bit more to the left... too far. Now to the right... No, that's not it..." Han Feng muttered, furrowing his brow.

On the radar, Han Feng's location perfectly matched that of the supply box, yet standing atop the bed, he saw nothing.

"Commander, the supply box is under your bed..." Luna gently hinted.

"Why didn't you mention that sooner?"

"You never asked."

"..."

Descending from the bed, Han Feng retrieved the supply box from beneath.

The supply box's silver-white metallic sheen and boxy shape reminded him of the kind used for money exchanges by movie drug lords.

"What's this..." Han Feng placed the supply box on the bed, turning to Luna.

"Commander, I'm not entirely sure what's inside. Until it's opened, the contents remain a mystery," Luna explained. Han Feng, intrigued, followed up, "How do I open it? Is there a password?"

"No password necessary. Just place your hand on it. The supply box is yours alone, Commander. No one else can open or damage it."

Luna barely finished her sentence before Han Feng eagerly placed his hand on the box.

A soft "ding" echoed in Han Feng's mind, and a symbol of a gold coin materialized before his eyes, ascending and then vanishing.

"Huh?" Han Feng's confusion quickly turned to sheer joy.

A wave of elation washed over him – he was now wealthy!

"5,000 gold coins! Haha!!!" Han Feng jubilantly punched the air.

With 5,454 gold coins, he was experiencing wealth like never before since acquiring the system.

"Luna, tell me where I can find more supply boxes," Han Feng asked urgently, the allure of a one-time windfall of 5,000 gold coins proving irresistible.

Supply boxes are generated at random following a radar scan, and their appearance is unpredictable. That means there's no guarantee that a supply box will be detected with each scan, nor is there certainty about the number, location, or other details," Luna explained, pausing briefly before continuing. "Since this is the commander's first time initiating a radar scan, the system offers one free scan, and it will automatically deploy supply boxes in your vicinity."

"What? There's a charge for scanning?!" Han Feng blurted out in surprise.

"Yes, commander. Each scan costs 100 gold coins," Luna confirmed.

Han Feng was momentarily at a loss for words after hearing Luna's explanation.

100 gold coins! It takes 100 gold coins! To think that amount could summon a mobilization soldier!

The initial excitement that Han Feng felt was quickly doused by this 'fee' revelation.

"Understood. I'll call you if there's an issue," Han Feng said, exiting the radar interface.

"Very well, goodbye, commander," Luna's voice echoed in Han Feng's mind as he signed off.

Now composed, Han Feng pondered over how to best utilize his 5,000 gold coins.

He opened the construction menu and saw that at the current stage, he could build either a heavy factory or a combat laboratory.

Both were priced at 10,000 gold coins...

"Sigh... not enough..." Han Feng sighed, closing the construction menu and moving to the summoning interface.

Han Feng had two American soldiers and nine mobilization soldiers at his command, making up his entire force, along with a police dog.

Glancing at his phone, it read four in the afternoon, yet there was still no signal.

After a brief rest, Han Feng headed downstairs.

"Hehe, such a well-behaved creature. I wonder what its name is? With such a majestic presence, it must have a powerful name, right?" Han Feng heard Wai Yun's giggles before he caught sight of anyone.

In the living room on the ground floor, the police dog lay sprawled on the floor, surrounded by the Wei siblings and Liu Rui, while the red police soldiers were either resting or standing guard.

Upon reaching the ground floor, the noise drew everyone's attention away from the dog and onto Han Feng.

"Boss Han, you've arrived. Why not take a longer break?" Wai Yun inquired with genuine concern.

"Boss Han, where on earth did you find this military dog?! It's so impressive!" Wai Peng's voice chimed in, full of curiosity.

Han Feng didn't respond to their questions, his eyes wide as he scrutinized the police dog.

Rising from the ground, the dog stood erect before Han Feng, as if undergoing his review.

"This..." Han Feng was at a loss for words, gazing at the 'heroic dog that saved them,' unable to utter a single phrase.

It was simply too large. During the tense battle, Han Feng hadn't taken the time to properly look at the police dog. Now, in a calmer moment, he was astounded.

With its limbs planted firmly, the dog's head reached Han Feng's waist! Its lithe body screamed agility, and its bright eyes appeared to comprehend every word spoken to it.

Black fur covered its back, identifying it as a German Shepherd, commonly referred to as a wolf dog.

The sight of its robust muscles gave Han Feng an overwhelming sense of protection. Its razor-sharp teeth looked capable of effortlessly crushing the toughest human bones!

"Sit!" Han Feng commanded abruptly.

At his word, the police dog obediently sat down.

"Wow! My goodness! When did you develop this unique skill?! We've been talking forever, and this venerable creature didn't budge an inch!" Liu Rui exclaimed, green with envy.

"There's still plenty you don't know," Han Feng replied with a playful smile and a raise of his eyebrows.

"What's its name?" Wai Yun inquired.

"He's called Wind," Han Feng replied after a moment's thought, deciding on the name Wind.

The reason was simple: thanks to its speed, Han Feng and his companions had managed to escape the horde of zombies. Thus, the name Wind also honored its remarkable deeds.

"By the way, has Lin Lan woken up?" Han Feng suddenly remembered the female special police officer and turned to Wai Yun with the question.
