C9 Haval H2

"Wait here for a moment. Winter Soldier, we're heading downstairs," Han Feng instructed as he let go of Liu Rui.

Once downstairs, Han Feng surveyed the chaos and directed, "Throw the zombies outside, then barricade the door."

Winter Soldier hauled out three zombies and then blocked the door using a sofa and a cabinet, since he had previously broken the lock.

In the kitchen, Han Feng opened the fridge to find water, cake, leftovers, and half a watermelon in the refrigerator section. The freezer contained meat wrapped in plastic bags, but not much. The pot on the stove held porridge, likely prepared by the nanny for Liu Rui that morning.

Han Feng looked for rice and flour, only to discover there were just small amounts left. The water was potable from the tap, so he filled several buckets, anticipating that the supply might soon be cut off without anyone to maintain it.

Eyeing the limited food supply, Han Feng frowned, realizing the need to stock up. There was enough to last a few days, so there was no immediate rush. He ladled out the porridge and reheated yesterday's leftovers while pondering their next meal.

"Winter Soldier, lend a hand," Han Feng called out, passing the warmed dishes to him.

Together, they carried the meal upstairs.

"Let's eat," Han Feng said, setting the food on a table before inviting the others to join.

The dining room was actually on the ground floor, but since Liu Rui was too scared to go down, Han Feng had no choice but to bring the food up.

"Can you cook?" he asked Liu Rui after they finished eating.

"Does making instant noodles count? I can't really do much else," Liu Rui admitted.

"Ah well... I'm not much of a chef myself, but it should be edible," Han Feng sighed, feeling a bit despondent. Considering his culinary skills... hopefully, the food wouldn't be too bad. It looked like he'd need to find someone who could actually cook.

"Let's take a break now and strategize our next move this afternoon," Han Feng suggested to the pair after a satisfying meal, feeling the onset of drowsiness.

"I want to sleep together!" Liu Rui clung to the comfort that Han Feng's presence brought, his fear still gripping his heart.

Han Feng simply smiled at Liu Rui's request and shook his head, choosing not to respond.

"Make a sweep of the area to ensure it's secure, then you can take a break too. We've got more to do later, so conserve your energy," Han Feng instructed the Winter Soldier before heading into the bedroom himself.

Once he lay down, exhaustion hit Han Feng even harder. The morning's tension had taken its toll, and he quickly drifted off to sleep.

As sleep took over, Han Feng could still hear Liu Rui's barrage of questions about why the Winter Soldier was so obedient, why he wasn't afraid of zombies, and how he managed to get here...

The abrupt ringing of the alarm jolted Han Feng awake.

It was just the alarm...

After silencing it, Han Feng took a deep breath, patted his chest, and rose from the bed.

Glancing at his watch, it read 6:40. He had slept just over two hours. Outside, daylight lingered, but dusk was approaching.

Han Feng checked the system: 75 gold coins? It looked like the Winter Soldier had been busy taking out zombies while he slept.

Stepping outside, Han Feng saw the Winter Soldier resting in a chair, his eyes obscured by the thick gas mask.

"Feeling better? Did you get some rest?" Han Feng inquired.

"I'm physically restored, all systems normal," the Winter Soldier replied, standing up.

After getting the update, Han Feng went back to the bedroom to wake Liu Rui.

"Do you know where we can find a sturdy car?" Han Feng asked, considering the inadequacy of his current vehicle against a horde of zombies.

"There's one... not far from our place. They have the most durable car," Liu Rui mumbled, still groggy and rubbing his eyes.

"Boss Han, you're not planning to steal it, are you?" Liu Rui suddenly snapped to full alertness, his eyes wide with a mix of shock and a hint of thrill.

"Does the concept of stealing even exist anymore in this world? I'm just borrowing it. If anyone's still alive in their home, I'll bring them back with us." Han Feng wasn't heartless. In the apocalypse, seeing another living person was far preferable to encountering zombies.

"Let's go! I'm coming with you!" Liu Rui exclaimed, his excitement tinged with fear of being alone at home, and a thrill for the unbidden adventure.

"Keep your eyes open and stay safe out there. They're zombies. Don't let them bite you, or you'll turn into one of them..." Han Feng advised, pushing aside the sofa that barricaded the door and looking back at Liu Rui with a serious gaze.

"Don't worry, Boss Han! I'm not scared of them! If they come at us, I'll knock them down with a punch and a kick each!"

"Enough, enough. Okay, I get it, you're tough. Just make sure to keep a safe distance," Han Feng said, trying to suppress a smile at Liu Rui's eager, chubby face.

Shaking his head with a smile, Han Feng knew Liu Rui was just psyching himself up.

"Let's move out." Han Feng led the way, opening the door. The Winter Soldier had already cleared the area of zombies, so there was little to worry about. Any remaining zombies were few and far between.

The trio climbed into the car Han Feng had arrived in, but now Liu Rui took the wheel.

Starting the engine, releasing the handbrake, shifting gears, and hitting the gas, Liu Rui executed each step flawlessly. Impressed, Han Feng couldn't help but praise from the passenger seat, "Nice driving, brother!"

"Obviously! I was into cars way before I even started high school! But your car, it's not the best. Huh? Where did you get the money for this car? You didn't steal it, did you?" Liu Rui's tone shifted from boastful to teasing as he flashed a sly grin.

"I didn't steal it; I'm just using it. Besides, I can't drive," Han Feng replied, a bit defensively.

"We're here. This is the place," Liu Rui announced, pulling the car to a stop and speaking to Han Feng as they both got out.

Since the two homes were close by, and Liu Rui was a fast driver, they quickly arrived at the doorstep of the residence in no time at all.

Stepping out of the car, Han Feng spotted a black "grand car" parked next to the villa.

"This is the Hummer H2, with a V8 engine and 6.2-liter displacement, it's got power! Zero to a hundred kilometers in just ten seconds! Next to it, everything else is like tofu, although it's a bit of a gas guzzler. But when it comes to taking on zombies, it's an absolute beast!" Liu Rui's eyes sparkled as he explained to Han Feng.

Car enthusiasts are like men catching sight of a beautiful woman, especially one who's just revealed her charms!

Clearly, Liu Rui was smitten with the Hummer.

After listening to Liu Rui, Han Feng began to walk around the Hummer, inspecting it.

"Wow, what a commanding presence..." Han Feng murmured in awe.

The sleek black finish glistened in the sunlight, and the muscular body of the car seemed poised to burst into action. The trunk was filled with everyday clutter, but its astonishingly large capacity still impressed Han Feng.

"This is perfect! This is the one! It feels so safe!" Han Feng exclaimed, his face alight with excitement. He thought to himself that in a post-apocalyptic world, this car would provide a significant sense of security.

"But... we don't have the keys," Liu Rui pointed out, trying the door only to find it locked. He turned to Han Feng.

"The keys must be inside the house, right?" Han Feng suggested, glancing at the villa beside the car.

Liu Rui didn't respond, instead, he looked to Winter Soldier, knowing that he was their best bet against the zombies.

"Winter Soldier, break us in!" No sooner had Han Feng spoken than Winter Soldier delivered a solid kick to the wooden door.

Han Feng was beyond caring whether there were survivors inside. In a world overrun by zombies, a door held no value.

"Boom!" As expected, the door burst open under the might of Winter Soldier's kick.

"Roar!" Zombies inside the house staggered toward the sound of the commotion.

There were three zombies. It seemed that this household hadn't escaped their infected fate.

Before Han Feng could speak, Winter Soldier charged into the house, wielding a fire axe.

Feeling the addition of three gold coins, Han Feng knew the fight was over.

"Let's head inside and search for the keys. And while you're at it, see if there are any water buckets and food. We'll take them with us when we leave." Han Feng instructed Liu Rui as he made his way into the house.

"Winter Soldier, sweep all the rooms. Eliminate any zombies you find. If there are survivors, bring them to me," Han Feng decided, issuing the command to Winter Soldier.

"Understood." With that, Winter Soldier ascended the stairs.

Liu Rui headed for the kitchen to scavenge for food, while Han Feng began his own search for the car keys.

"Bang, crash—" A significant noise erupted from upstairs. The increase of two gold coins alerted Han Feng to the presence of more zombies above.
