C1 New Identity

"Miss Su, it's time to take off the gauze."

The young nurse, with a sympathetic look on her cherubic face, felt sorry for Su Rann's misfortune.

Since the car accident, her in-laws had visited just once, leaving behind nothing but cold stares and harsh words.

Her own parents hadn't even made an appearance.

She was like an abandoned child, except even less fortunate. The driver responsible for the accident settled with 300,000 yuan, but her in-laws callously took 200,000 yuan of the compensation meant for her recovery.

Her body was mostly unharmed, but her face was destroyed. The 100,000 yuan needed for reconstructive surgery was barely within reach, and even her doctor lacked confidence in a full restoration.

"Oh."

Su Rann responded faintly, her gaze fixed on the world outside the window.

"Where do you live? Our hospital offers a shuttle service." The nurse asked with genuine kindness, her pretty eyes smiling like crescent moons.

But Su Rann's medical bills had drained her finances; she couldn't afford such a luxury.

The nurse felt for her, especially seeing no family present on the day of her discharge.

As a fellow woman, she empathized with her plight.

"No need."

Su Rann's voice was terse and slow, chillingly cold.

She didn't even know where her new identity was supposed to live.

Who would have thought that in a blink of an eye, she had lived for over two millennia? All these years, she had been yearning for death, but the last wishes of her master and senior brother kept her enduring silently.

To die freely and completely, she needed to gather five keys to unlock the Qin First Emperor's Tomb and find her master and senior brother's remains.

She wanted to tell them face to face that she didn't wish to live this solitary life anymore!

Her face, forever unaging, meant that periodically, she had to assume a new identity.

Su Rann had perished in a car crash, and thus, she seamlessly stepped into Su Rann's life.

As the bandage unwound from her head, her sculpted features were revealed, so beautiful they sparked envy. Her porcelain skin beckoned for a caress.

The nurse's eyes were wide with a mix of admiration and astonishment.

"Is Director Liu in line for a pay raise?"

How on earth did she manage to turn 100,000 yuan into such a fortune? She couldn't help but admire this woman's incredible luck!

Stepping down from the hospital bed in her gown without any rush, she paused at the door. "What's your name?"

"Shen, Shen Mann," the nurse replied reflexively, watching Miss Su walk away before calling out, "Miss Su, your surgery was a success. Take a look in the mirror, and don't forget to leave a positive review."

Pulling out a black, bulky phone from her hospital gown, it resembled an outdated brick phone.

"A nurse named Shen Mann at Central Hospital is due for a promotion." She cut off the call before the other person could respond.

On the other end, someone was flustered, quickly pulling up all the nurse profiles from Central Hospital. But there was no Shen Mann to be found, only a Shen Mann.

Reward her! She was determined to reward generously!

Better to over-reward a hundred times than to miss one deserving case.

The young nurse hadn't even processed what happened before she found herself promoted to head nurse.

She switched to a short number.

"Eagle Eye, I need all the details on Su Rann within three minutes. The more comprehensive, the better," she commanded, gripping the phone with her delicate fingers, her walk exuding a nonchalant swagger.

"Boss, I've waited a year for this call. Please, don't rush to hang up," came a sycophantic voice from the other end, though the meticulousness in his eyes was genuine.

"..."

Eagle Eye chuckled slyly as his computer, booted up in a second, began to work.

Su Rann hailed a taxi at the roadside, diving in with a trace of chill in her air.

As the driver was about to pull away, he caught sight of her strikingly beautiful face beneath the loose hospital gown, her long, straight, snow-white legs captivatingly exposed.

His gaze turned icy as if falling into an ancient, frozen abyss, and he instantly killed the engine.

"Miss, where to?" the driver asked, his voice tinged with nervousness.

"Here." Su Rann presented the driver with the address Eagle Eye had just sent.

Cloud Sea Villa was a well-known enclave of affluence.

The driver floored the accelerator, hoping the thrust of the seat would steady his racing heart.

The black phone unfolded into four sections, creating a single screen, already displaying over a dozen messages.

At the age of nineteen, Su Rann found herself in an arranged marriage with Lu Jinhan. Within the Lu family, she became the proverbial punching bag.

Neither her father nor her mother showed her any affection, and to make matters worse, Lu Jinhan was utterly indifferent towards her.
