C13 Su Rann's Abnormal Behavior
"Do you really want me to leave your brother like this?"
Su Rann asked, shaking the bank card in her hand.
"Yes, my brother doesn't need a worthless woman like you around! You only married him for his money, and there's no love between you two!"
Hearing such words from a teenager, Su Rann couldn't help but find it somewhat amusing.
In all her years, this was a first for her – being scorned by a mere kid.
She handed the bank card back to him.
"You don't need to concern yourself with adult matters!"
As Su Rann turned to leave, Lu Zihann blocked her path.
"I'm not a child anymore. Su Rann, you only get one chance. If you don't seize it, you'll regret it later!"
She hadn't expected Lu Zihann, so young, to be making threats!
"Brother, we have a parent-teacher conference next Saturday!"
In front of his brother, Lu Zihann was the picture of obedience, all his sharp edges tucked away.
"Okay!"
Lu Jinhan added a few pieces of beef to his bowl.
Seeing Lu Jinhan's positive response brought a smirk to Lu Zihann's face.
The sight was somewhat irritating!
After dinner, Lin Manyin confronted her.
"So, Su Rann, how did things go at the company today?"
Her voice dripped with contempt.
"I heard none of the other sales team leaders wanted you, and you ended up in Group D. Do you realize that's the worst group?"
Lin Manyin's snort was laced with arrogance, as if she felt superior to everyone else.
In her eyes, a woman like Su Rann deserved to be beneath her forever.
When Lin Manyin saw that Su Rann didn't reply and attempted to leave, she tried to trip her.
But Su Rann was quick and blocked her before she could make a move.
Lin Manyin ended up in a humiliating pose.
"Ah, Su Rann!" she spat out through clenched teeth.
"A good dog doesn't stand in the way; a yapping dog is just a nuisance!"
Su Rann wiped her shoes with a tissue and strode away.
"Su Rann, don't get too cocky just because you landed Boss Chen's order. Wasn't it just dumb luck that day?"
"If you don't show any strength in the sales department, you'll eventually be ousted from the company!" Lin Manyin said with a sneer.
Su Rann gave her a chilling look, reminiscent of a Rakshasa emerging from the depths of hell.
Lin Manyin was silenced before she could continue, her words caught in her throat. The intensity in this woman's eyes seemed to possess the power to swallow darkness whole. For a moment, Manyin's heart quivered in fear.
In the shadows, a figure stood like a sovereign of the night, his presence emanating a palpable chill.
"Is the information on Su Rann confirmed?" he asked, a cigarette pinched between his index and middle finger, his tone edged with frost.
"Mr. Han, here is some of Miss Su's hospital information," Nan Jun said, handing over the documents.
The records were comprehensive, detailing Su Rann's hospital stay, her primary doctor, and her nurse.
"Is there anything unusual?" His lips were a tight line, his face betraying no emotion.
"There doesn't seem to be anything out of the ordinary with Miss Su. However, there's something peculiar about the nurse who was constantly by her side," Nan Jun observed.
Lu Jinhan's penetrating gaze held an air of grandeur, as if he were an unapproachable figure perched atop a snowy peak.
"Oh?" he responded, continuing to flip through the papers without slowing.
"As soon as Miss Su was discharged, the nurse, Shen Mann, who had been attending to her, was promoted to head nurse!"
Nan Jun had always assumed it was simply good fortune, but he felt compelled to share his suspicions with Lu Jinhan.
Jinhan's eyes narrowed sharply, a tumult of emotions stirring behind them.
