The two women exchanged knowing smiles, eager to see what sort of credentials a servant from the Lu family could possibly have to offer financial support. As their conversation unfolded, the surrounding onlookers shifted their attention toward Su Rann.
"This... This seems rather challenging, doesn't it?" Ms. Zhao said hesitantly, considering that even the principal had been unable to resolve the issue without the board's input.
"Not at all, Ms. Zhao," Mrs. Guo interjected with a hint of sarcasm. "Aren't you aware that in Lan City, the Lu family is renowned? We're confident that what seems like a big deal to us is but a minor issue for them. Isn't that right, Lu Zihann's parents?"
"That's right," chimed in the short-haired woman, her tone dismissive. "Everyone here is well aware of the Lu family's stature in Lan City. Perhaps today is the day we all witness the Lu family's true capabilities."
The crowd murmured in agreement.
Su Rann calmly pulled a stack of documents from her bag and said nonchalantly, "Okay." She was there to deliver the contract to School Board Member Ma.
Ms. Zhao approached her, puzzled. "What does this mean, Lu Zihann's parent?" Her eyes widened in surprise upon seeing the land contract.
Mrs. Guo, driven by curiosity, wondered what Su Rann was playing at. But when she caught sight of the contract, she burst into laughter. "I never imagined there could be such a brazen woman in this world! Haha..."
Her laughter was tinged with scorn, her status forgotten.
"You're quite the actress," Mrs. Guo sneered. "Did you really think you could deceive everyone? You're nothing but a servant of the Lu family, yet here you are, audaciously signing the contract as if you had the authority. It's unbelievable! I've encountered shameless women before, but you, you take it to a whole new level!"
Following Mrs. Guo's outburst, the short-haired woman stepped closer, a smirk on her face as she too saw the contract. "I suppose not everyone is aware of this woman's true identity. I've confirmed she's merely a servant of the Lu family. I had intended to expose her, but who would have thought she'd actually produce a contract? Isn't that just hilarious?"
"Do you really take us for fools? This contract has to be a fake!"
Ms. Zhao never anticipated that a straightforward parent-teacher meeting could devolve into such an incident.
"Parents of Lu Zihann, if you're not able to sponsor us, we won't hold it against you. However, presenting a fake contract to deceive us isn't right, is it?"
As a newcomer, Ms. Zhao was always anxious about unexpected events. She tread carefully, always cautious, fearing any misstep.
If she were to present this counterfeit contract to a School Board Member, it would surely lead to a scandal with consequences too dire to contemplate.
"Who says this contract is fake?"
Her voice was crisp and cool, with a trace of impatience in her gaze.
"Did everyone hear that? This woman insists the contract is genuine. How about we place a wager on it?
If the contract is authentic, I'll personally ensure the cleanliness of all the school's restrooms for a month!
But if it's a fake, then you'll be the one cleaning the toilets for a month. How does that sound?"
Mrs. Guo's smile was laced with contempt.
