C2 He Had Just Arrived

Throughout the journey, Su Rann was freezing. Every time the driver attempted to glance back at her, he was met with her icy stare, as if he had plunged into the depths of a glacial pool that had been frozen for millennia.

This woman was quite intimidating!

"We've arrived!"

The driver stuttered, clearly unsettled. He must have neglected to check his horoscope today; how else could he have encountered such a woman emanating such a malevolent aura?

Su Rann lifted her gaze to the distant villa, her eyes shadowy and unfocused.

She tossed a red bill onto the seat and, clad in a loose hospital gown, vanished from the driver's view.

The driver floored the accelerator, a thin sheen of sweat on his forehead, and headed straight home.

"Knock, knock, knock!"

The door was rapped three times, and a middle-aged woman came to answer it.

"Hello, may I ask whom you're looking for?" she inquired respectfully.

Su Rann surveyed the interior without a word and brushed past the woman, making her way further inside.

"Miss, may I ask whom you're looking for?" Mrs. Lee asked, trailing behind her, uncertain of her intentions.

Even in the baggy hospital gown, Su Rann's extraordinary beauty was evident. The oversized garment made her slender frame seem even more delicate, and her crisp aura was not one to be taken lightly.

"Mrs. Lee, who has the audacity to disrupt my sleep so early in the morning?" an irate voice called down from upstairs, followed by the sound of footsteps growing closer.

The woman descending the stairs was draped in an opulent gold-threaded nightgown, exuding an air of wealth.

"Second Young Madam, I apologize. I failed to stop this woman," Mrs. Lee said cautiously.

Lin Manyin scrutinized the woman before her. The sight of her finely chiseled face sparked a surge of jealousy within her.

"Don't just stand there; call security to throw her out! She's probably an escapee from a psychiatric ward! Mrs. Lee, have you lost your mind? Since when can just anyone walk into the Lu family's home?" Her voice grew sharper with each word.

With her alluring features, she was clearly here to entice the men of the Lu family.

Su Rann observed her domineering behavior. According to Eagle Eye, this woman was her sister-in-law, who had never missed an opportunity to torment Su Rann.

But she was not Su Rann, and she would not be bullied.

Her eyes were clear and cold as she crossed her arms and strode past.

"Stop right there!"

Lin Manyin was clearly furious. How dare this woman treat her as if she were invisible?

Just as she reached out to grab Su Rann, the woman spun around, causing Manyin to clutch at thin air. She stumbled and fell to the ground in an undignified heap.

"Mrs. Lee, call security this instant!"

Lin Manyin's face was livid, the color of overcooked liver. Never in her life had she suffered such indignity.

This woman would pay!

"Enough!" she snapped icily, her voice utterly emotionless.

It was her first utterance since arriving, yet her presence was as commanding as a war-seasoned general, sending chills down one's spine.

Su Rann casually tossed a pile of documents, including her identification and hospital certification, in front of Manyin.

Then, she sauntered into the room with effortless poise.

Lin Manyin's eyes widened in disbelief as she scanned the documents.

Could this woman truly be Su Rann?

"What is this, some kind of sick joke? Isn't Su Rann the doormat supposed to be lying half-dead in a hospital bed right now?"
