C20 The Principal Personally Came to Apologize!
After Mrs. Guo entered the restroom, Su Rann casually tossed the pen aside.
Clearly, a guilty conscience is a thief's hallmark. Just the sight of a pen had him petrified, huh?
School Board Member Ma noticed Su Rann's departure and hurried after her.
"When did you arrive in Lan City? Why didn't you let me know?"
He was visibly anxious, not wanting to displease her.
"If anything had happened at my school today, I'd probably be facing bankruptcy!"
A dense layer of cold sweat coated his forehead.
"Make sure you have the contract. I need to get going!"
Su Rann smoothly pulled sunglasses from her bag and slipped them on with effortless grace.
Lin Manyin's brow furrowed upon witnessing School Board Member Ma's deferential behavior.
Could this woman be involved with the school board member? Why else would he look at her with such odd interest?
There had to be some unsavory secrets here!
Had Su Rann really been engaging in all these underhanded activities behind the Lu family's back?
She wouldn't let her off the hook so easily!
Her hands clenched into fists, knuckles turning white. Su Rann wouldn't slip through her grasp!
"School Board Member, what is this supposed to mean?"
The principal's hands shook as he looked at the termination contract, his face falling inch by inch.
He had worked tirelessly to secure this position, and now he was facing dismissal.
"You've crossed someone you shouldn't have," School Board Member Ma huffed.
The principal was bewildered, his mind racing through his recent actions.
"School Board Member Ma, I'm not sure I follow," he stammered, voice quivering.
"You claimed this contract was a fake. Do you realize the potential losses you could have caused the school?"
School Board Member Ma's anger sent a chill through the office.
"But I saw the official seal on the previous contracts," he protested, his palms sweating.
"Utterly foolish!"
How could Su Rann's authentic signature be so easily dismissed?
"Why are you only coming out now?"
Lu Zihann stood with his hands on his hips, his impatience evident.
"Have you gotten yourself into trouble? I just saw Lin Manyin's car pull up! Please, don't cause any more problems for my brother, can you?"
His earnest expression somehow managed to make him look rather adorable.
"Let's head home!"
Su Rann spoke with a hint of detachment.
"You'd better not stir up trouble for my brother, or I'll find a way to have you thrown out of the Lu family!"
Lu Zihann clenched his small fists and threatened menacingly.
"Do I look like someone who enjoys causing trouble?"
Trouble always seemed to find her; she was the type to avoid confrontation unless absolutely necessary.
"You're a walking disaster. Are you really unaware of that?"
Lu Zihann gave her a dismissive glance before settling into a corner of the car, maintaining a distance between them.
No sooner had Lu Zihann and the others entered the house than the principal was knocking at their door.
"Principal, what brings you here?"
Lu Zihann's greatest fear was having a teacher show up at his doorstep.
He had been doing so well in school lately; had Su Rann misspoken at school?
"Principal, did you come to see Su Rann?"
Lu Zihann regretted letting that woman attend the parent-teacher conference in his place.
"Yes!"
The principal mopped the sweat from his brow.
"Principal, if Su Rann misspoke at school, please don't hold it against her. She's not well-educated. Please accept my apologies!"
Lu Zihann forced a smile.
"Actually, I've come to offer an apology!"
The principal continued to dab at the persistent sweat on his forehead.
