C23 The Treasure Girl Su Rann!
Another workday arrived swiftly, and Mu Xiaoran was on her way to the company, pedaling her bicycle as she always did.
Chi Xin regarded Su Rann with contempt. "I can't fathom how a woman of such plain looks could capture Young Master Jiang's interest." Her gaze was like a sharp knife, relentlessly slicing through Su Rann.
Chi Xin always saw her in casual attire, lacking the allure typically found in a seductive woman. Aside from a pretty face, her figure was undeveloped, reminiscent of a young schoolgirl. And she was always either taking the bus or riding a bicycle. How did such a woman end up working here?
Many of the women in Group D shared a sense of aversion toward Su Rann, the unexpected newcomer. She wore an expressionless face daily, and an icy aura seemed to emanate from her, keeping others at bay. They couldn't help but feel alienated from her.
"Su Rann, have we met before?" Jiang Zhehan would ask himself each time he saw her, convinced he had encountered her somewhere in the past.
Su Rann remained silent, focusing on her work.
"Why do I get this sense of déjà vu when I see you? Could it be fate?" Jiang Zhehan mused, leaning on his desk, his gaze fixed on Su Rann.
The other women in the office seethed with envy when they saw Young Master Jiang seeking her out for conversation, only to be met with her indifference. Everyone knew Jiang Zhehan was not a man to be trifled with.
Was Su Rann so clueless? She wouldn't even grant Young Master Jiang a passing glance. This woman was truly a master at playing hard to get!
Jiang Zhehan kept his eyes on Su Rann. She stood up decisively and began to tidy up her desk without a word.
"Is anyone there?" she asked, her voice devoid of emotion.
Jiang Zhehan stood frozen, realizing she had no intention of sitting with him. This woman had a strong personality, and he found that appealing.
"Su Rann's coyness is truly unparalleled," Chi Xin remarked scornfully. "It's no wonder Young Master Jiang sees her in a different light. She's playing the game well!"
"This woman is the MVP of pretense!" another woman added with disdain.
"This woman doesn't seem to realize that once she leaves Young Master Jiang's side, who in the office would actually want to sit with her?"
As Su Rann approached, many in the office moved away from her. No one wanted to risk offending Young Master Jiang.
"Sit here," Liu Jiatong offered, standing up.
Su Rann gave the woman before her a quick look. She wore her hair in a simple ponytail, exuding a sense of stability.
Carrying her office supplies, Su Rann headed towards her.
"Have you crossed Young Master Jiang? I can only help you so much. In this company, it's best to steer clear of Young Master Jiang and those other women," Liu Jiatong advised after pulling some documents from a folder.
"Here's some basic sales knowledge for the company. Have a look, and if there's anything you don't understand, feel free to ask me. I'm Liu Jiatong."
She smiled, revealing charming dimples, before returning to her work.
Su Rann browsed through the documents with a deep and tranquil gaze. After setting them aside, she pulled out a somewhat archaic finance book and began to read intently.
Liu Jiatong wrapped up her tasks and noticed Su Rann engrossed in other reading material.
She shook her head at the sight of the slightly yellowed pages. It looked like it would take some time to get Su Rann back on track. The journey ahead was long and arduous!
In the afternoon, as work came to an end, Su Rann chose a secluded path for her bike ride home. Naturally reserved, she preferred quiet over chaos.
Along the way, she encountered a group of men harassing a woman.
"Hand over anything of value you have on you."
The menacing knife gleamed in the sunset, resembling a venomous snake ready to strike.
"Come on, hurry up. You do realize that blades are blind," the street thugs coerced the woman.
The gleaming knives menacingly circled her.
"I really don't have anything valuable," the girl pleaded repeatedly.
"You're quite a looker. If you don't have anything of value, just make us happy, and we'll let you go," one of the thugs said, whistling and lasciviously licking his lips.
"Let me go!" the girl demanded, trying to break free from their circle, but as she attempted to flee, they cornered her against the wall.
"What do you want?" Su Rann's voice was icy as it cut through the air.
"Big brother, look, another one. This lady is even more stunning!" A thug beside her remarked, salivating at the sight of her.
The three thugs approached Su Rann, clearly intent on taking advantage of the beautiful woman who had seemingly walked right into their grasp.
With sleazy grins plastered on their faces, one of the men reached out to touch Su Rann, but before his hand could make contact, she struck.
"Ah!" With a swift punch, Su Rann connected with his head.
"She's a tough one!" The other two thugs exchanged knowing looks.
With the grace of a willow in the wind, she leapt up, her long, slender legs delivering a precise and ruthless blow to their groins. Her clothing billowed as her limbs moved with lethal precision.
"Scram!" Her voice, cold as an early spring chill, sent shivers down the spines of the men on the ground.
A sinister gleam flashed in her deep eyes.
Jiang Zhehan, who had been following her, witnessed the entire scene. He was stunned by her elegance and efficiency; even he doubted he could have subdued the street thugs so effortlessly.
He was amazed that Su Rann's delicate frame housed such formidable strength.
"Are you okay?" Su Rann asked Liu Jiatong, concern in her gaze.
Liu Jiatong, still trying to process the recent events, had been cowering in a corner, not realizing the thugs had vanished.
Su Rann extended her hand, offering support. "I'll take you home."
Any girl would be frightened after such an ordeal.
"Ms. Rann!" Jiang Zhehan exclaimed, rushing to her side, his earlier shock having caused him to forget to capture the moment with his camera.
Su Rann's actions had been nothing short of awe-inspiring.
"Why are you here?" Su Rann asked, her voice tinged with annoyance.
"I'll take you both home!" Jiang Zhehan's admiration for Su Rann was as deep and ceaseless as a mighty river.
"My car is right over here."
Su Rann assisted Liu Jiatong into Jiang Zhehan's car.
"Make sure she gets home safely, and call me once you're there," Su Rann instructed before confidently mounting her bicycle and pedaling away.
"Ms. Rann, rest assured, I'll definitely call you!" Jiang Zhehan called out, watching Su Rann's retreating figure. She was a blend of cool elegance and captivating charm—a truly remarkable girl.
