C8 Relations upon revelations

SERENA'S POV

How dare they? I am water, and I am above them all. It is about time I get revenge, permanently........

I silently contemplate who to destroy first. It doesn't take me long to settle on Stephanie, the orchestrator of my humiliation and pain. My blood boils as I tighten my grip on the water that takes her breath away. The entire hall descended into chaos a while ago, but I am only vaguely aware of it, my focus only on my victims. I mentally count as Stephanie takes her final breaths, but I'm distracted by a delicious voice before I can finish my mission.

"Serena, please stop." I turn to see my distraction in the form of Dominic. He slowly moves towards me, as if afraid I'm going to harm him too, and I almost laugh.

"Don't worry, you don't need to be scared of me, I am only after retribution for their sins against me," I tell him to calm him down.

"Yes, I know that, but I also don't want you to hurt them too. You won't be happy with that when you come out of this haze." He tries to reason with me, but I laugh.

"You don't know anything about me. I definitely won't regret getting rid of these flies. Anyway, stay away and stop distracting me." I turn back to her to work when I feel his hands on my shoulders, his touch soothing.

"Please don't do this, I know they have messed with you badly, but let's punish them the right way. Not in a way where you also get in trouble for killing them." I consider his words while he starts to rub his hands on my shoulders. I finally let them go after deciding it would be fun to watch them get punished. I release my hold on the water around their throat, and they drop to the floor, coughing and holding their chest. So dramatic. I guess I used too much energy because when I tried to leave the cafeteria and the disaster I created, I got dizzy. I hold my head and try to steady myself, but it doesn't work because I start to feel myself fall, and before I know it, everything goes black.

I wake up feeling like a sledgehammer is being slammed into my skull multiple times. I try to open my eyes, but I'm assaulted by a flood of light, prolonging the clearing of my blurry eyes. With my eyes finally clear, I notice three things. The first thing I notice is that I am not in my room. The second thing I notice is that it feels like I'm forgetting something. The third thing I notice is that I am definitely not in this strange bedroom by myself. Lying beside me on the bed and snoring softly is Dominic. I forget to be intimidated by him as I wake him up. At the first tap, he jolts into a sitting position.

"Where am I? I mean, where we are?" I ask him as he collects himself.

"We are in my bedroom," he tells me before yawning loudly without covering his mouth.

"Wow! What happened to manners?" I mutter sarcastically, but he hears me and smiles sheepishly.

"Sorry about that. Do you need anything?" He apologizes before asking.

"Yes, I do. I need answers to my questions. Why am I in your room? I knew you were creepy, but I never thought you were a kidnapper." Instead of taking me seriously, he starts laughing at me.

"You are hilarious. I am not a kidnapper. In fact, for your information, I am your helper. I brought you here after you fainted from over-exerting your powers."

"My powers?" This guy is crazy crazy.

"Yeah, your powers. Don't you remember trying to kill three people a few hours ago?" His words immediately triggered my memory. I knew I was forgetting something important but I couldn't place what.

"So, what you are telling me now is that what happened in the cafeteria is not a dream? Me trying to kill that bitch and her friends is real?" I started to have a mini panic attack with the realization of what I did now that my head is clear.

"Yeah everything is real, and not to add to the mini panic attack I can see is slowly starting to build but you are in deep shit. There's a whole lot of things you were not aware of but will soon be. Before we get into that, let us have lunch." He stands up and stretches a hand to me to help me up. We head downstairs and I'm stupefied by the extravagance of his home.

"You live here?" I ask while looking around in amazement as we enter into a state of the kitchen.

"Of course, what will you like?" I don't have anything in particular in mind and can't think since I'm preoccupied with gazing at his beautiful kitchen, so I just reply with "anything".

He tells his chef to make us something to eat while pulling out a chair for me to sit on by the island. We wait in a tense silence until our meals are served. I am surprised by the tomato base pasta and salmon which is my favorite meal and finish it in record time.

"Wow, it's like you just knew the perfect thing to serve me. Pasta is my favourite dish." I tell him Dominic as a conversation starter and he just smiles at me.

"Well, I am glad you liked it. Now that our bellies are full, there are something's you need to know about Haven and yourself." I remain quiet as he talks, my belly tight with tension.

"Haven Town is a town for supernatural beings, the same way Haven College is a school for supernatural bein-" Before he can continue I interrupt him.

"What do you mean by supernatural beings?" I ask him.

"All your questions will be answered, you just need to be patient." I nod at his words and resolve to let him fill in the gaps.

"As I was saying, Haven College is a school for supernatural beings. To answer your question, Supernatural beings are creatures above nature; often so considered because it is given by a deity or some force beyond that which humans are born with. What I am trying to say in simpler terms is that supernatural beings are people with extraordinary abilities. We are not all the same and have different abilities but all are considered extraordinary."

I am finding it hard to wrap my head around all that has been said so I just keep quiet.

"Haven is not the only supernatural town, there are many other supernatural towns on Earth as well as several other supernatural schools and colleges. Now do you have any questions?" He gestures at me to go ahead and ask when I nod my head as a yes.

"You mentioned that Haven is a supernatural town and Haven College is a school for supernatural beings, so why then am I here? Why is my mum here? I was offered a scholarship to attend school here, why is that?"

"Humans have this thing where they never mind their business, therefore, to stay under the radar, we admit a few humans into the school every year. By doing that, we stay hidden and avoid suspicion."

"I guess that does make a lot of sense." Now that the initial shock has worn off, I am excited to learn more. “You mentioned that there are different types of supernatural beings, can you expatiate on that?"
