C9 Crazy things are happening

"Sure. There are werewolves, witches, vampires, fae, and nature manipulators. We were more than that, but the others have gone into extinction." He explains.

"Okay, what supernatural being are you?"

"I am a -" His words are interrupted by ringing.

Dominic glances at me before answering his call. I look away, pretending like I am not eavesdropping when I am.

"Hey dad, okay, we will start coming. Bye. " He ends his brief conversation with who is obviously his dad before turning to me.

"Let's go." He commands.

"Go where?" I ask, deciding to ignore the thrill I feel at his command.

"To face your fate. Remember how I told you earlier that you are in deep shit?" He doesn't wait for my response before continuing. "This meeting determines your fate after you almost killed those girls." My belly churns bitterly at this.

"What are they going to do to me?" I ask him.

"I don't have an answer to that. What I can say is that I will try as much as possible to protect you." I don't know why, but I believe him.

"Okay." His hand finds mine as we walk to his car. He opens the door for me and only closes it after he is sure I am comfortable. He gets into the driver's seat and drives off. I take the opportunity to think back to times where I've had an incident relating to water but dismissed them as something trivial. From the bathtub incident to the tea incident.

We pull up to a grand, charming brick building with flowers cascading down the walls. Dominic rushes to open the door for me before I can do it myself. We walk into the building and are greeted by a grand lobby. The walls are pristine white, the floors sparkle, and the entire aura is sophisticated. The few people in the lobby stare at me as Dominic leads me into a dimly lit hall. A wide, round table sits in the middle of the hall with six chairs surrounding it. Seated on five out of the six chairs are three men and two women. The occupied chairs are equal in size, a bit smaller than the unoccupied chair. They all stare and observe me like I'm a mouse under a microscope. Dominic holds my arm lightly and guides me to the front of the table before introducing me to the seated people.

"Good morning leader, this is Serena Stone, the girl who has caused quite a stir and my mate." What does he mean by mate? I want to ask but decide it's not the right time. He goes on to introduce them to me. He starts with the first person on the left and continues until the last person on the right. “This is Mother Raven, the head witch of the Haven coven." I nod my head slightly at the beautiful woman with black hair and green eyes. The next person I am introduced to is a man. "This is Faelord Reuben, the leader of the faeries residing in Haven." The man in question is an ethereal being with voluptuous blue hair cascading down his body. The next person is a man who looks a little familiar. When Dominic introduces him, I understand why. "This is Alpha Tanner Powers, the leader of the Haven wolf pack and also my father." I can see where Dominic got his looks from. The final person I'm introduced to is a pale, handsome woman. "Finally, this is Mistress Luciana, the leader of the vampire clan. The empty seat is for the queen, but Her Majesty only uses it on matters where we have no choice but they involve her. Together, they are the governing body of Haven town."

I take in all that has been said, digesting the information. A seat is brought for me to sit, and I do so, ready to face my fate.

"Do you know why you are here?" Mother Raven asked me after clearing her throat, and I nodded my head yes and answered.

"Yes, I do. I am here to face punishment for almost killing my coursemates." I look at them as they look at each other and start laughing.

"I mean, you attempting to kill those girls was wrong, but nothing that hasn't happened before. You are here because you are supposed to be human. Instead, you displayed raw power, and not only that, you displayed raw power that is supposedly extinct." Mother Raven tells me.

"All I did was control water, I don't think that is a big deal," I tell her.

"It is a big deal. It definitely is a big deal when no one has been born with this power for years. It definitely is a big deal when your first use of it was precise and skilful. You, my darling, are a prodigy." Mother Raven fawns at me.

"Normally, had this power been detected in you as a child, we would have trained you to the best of your ability, but it's not too late. Your power can not continue to lie dormant." Says Faelord Reuben.

This situation is getting out of hand. I expected to come here and face punishment. Instead, I am faced with talks of training and extinct powers. Alpha Tanner interrupts the planning going on between the Mother and Faelord.

"Before you all get carried away, remember that she is the mate to my son. Therefore, she belongs to my pack. Any decisions concerning her training and her life from now on should be as we see fit." His opinion starts up another argument before Mistress Luciana interferes.

"You all are getting ahead of yourself. How about we ask the girl what she wants? I believe she doesn't fully understand what is going on. So, instead of fighting over a person, how about we hear her opinion."

"Master Lucian, you make it seem like we are trying to force her into something, we just recognize that she has something great she has no idea how to use and want to guide her. “Mother Raven counters Mistress Luciana.

"Alright, let's ask her what she thinks." They all turn to me, and Master Lucian gestures at me to speak.

I clear my throat before I begin. "Thank you all for this opportunity, but unfortunately, I don't understand what is going on. Dominic has explained a few things to me, but I'm still confused about myself. What am I? How did I get this power? What is a mate? Why am I being referred to as Dominic's mate?" I ramble all this out, and when I'm done, I take a deep breath.

"To answer your questions, once upon a time, supernatural beings consisted of various creatures, but unfortunately, over time, they became extinct and died off. Some of these extinct creatures were extremely powerful, and they are called water manipulators. They are part of the family of nature manipulators, but they all died off due to unknown reasons. The nature manipulators left are just a few. The power is generally hereditary, but in your case, how you got it is unknown. Finally, in the case of mates, a mate is a soul completer, a gift from the moon goddess to her Werewolves to complete their soul. We keep calling you Dominic's mate because you are his mate."

"How can I be his mate? How did he know? " I ask them.

"He knew because his wolf recognizes your soul." This gives me an understanding as to why he keeps following me around. He is my mate. The entire story is crazy but what's even crazier is that I believe it. "So what happens now?" I ask

"Now, we figure out what to do with you." Replies, Mistress Luciana.
