C19 A Small Revenge!

He walked over to Qin Luoyao's side, observing the people in the courtyard, many of whom were slightly injured.

*Cough, cough...* Yang Qing's face turned an unnatural shade of purplish-red, struggling to breathe.

"Please... Qin Luoyao, I'll let you all go, just release Qing!" Yang Bahu's expression turned grim. Yang Qing was his only son, his pride and joy, and he couldn't let anything happen to him.

"You have someone you care about?" Qin Luoyao remarked with surprise, as if uncovering some unbelievable truth.

A flicker of displeasure crossed Yang Bahu's face. "Everyone has someone they care about!" he retorted, his focus entirely on Yang Qing, his heart in his throat, terrified of what might happen to him.

"Oh? I hold his life in my hands. How does that feel?" Qin Luoyao asked calmly. Before Yang Bahu could respond, she continued, "The way you feel now is exactly how I felt back then."

Yang Bahu suddenly realized that Qin Luoyao was drawing a parallel to the times he had bullied her.

How could these situations compare? His son was a distinguished mage, while Qin Luoyao was just a nobody!

"Qin Luoyao, I promise never to harm you again. Please, just let Qing go," Yang Bahu declared with conviction, his tone as firm as a vow.

"Really?" Qin Luoyao raised an eyebrow, smiling slightly. "Didn't you just say you were going to burn my house down? Hmm? What about that?"

She glanced at the struggling Yang Qing in her grasp. The feeling of having power over someone was indeed exhilarating; no wonder she had been bullied before.

"I... didn't... mean it..." Yang Qing stammered, desperately tapping Qin Luoyao's hand, his words broken and strained by his struggle to breathe.

"Didn't mean it? Did I hear wrong?" Qin Luoyao mused thoughtfully.

"Yes, yes, haha, how could we do something as extreme as burning your house down! Haha!" Yang Bahu interrupted Qin Luoyao's thoughts, trying to salvage his earlier words.

Qin Luoyao glanced at Yang Bahu, observing his pitiful, dog-like demeanor. She let out a cold laugh. People are just like that.

"Extreme? I think it's quite extreme too," Qin Luoyao chuckled.

Seeing Qin Luoyao smile, Yang Bahu breathed a sigh of relief and nodded obsequiously. The immediate priority was for Qin Luoyao to release Yang Qing. Afterward, he planned to teach these siblings a lesson for daring to challenge him!

"But I enjoy doing extreme things. If I burn this house down, I'll let him go," Qin Luoyao's voice suddenly rang out, startling Yang Bahu, who widened his eyes in shock.

Burn... the house?

All of the Yang family's assets were here. If it burned, they'd have nothing left! No way, the family legacy, protected by their ancestors, couldn't be destroyed on his watch!

However, Qin Luoyao held his son's life in her hands. If he didn't comply, wouldn't he be sacrificing his son's life? This was his only son, a gifted mage, and he couldn't bear to harm him.

Yang Bahu was caught in a dilemma, unsure of what to do.

"Qin Luoyao, I'm begging you, please spare Qing. He's innocent," Yang Bahu swallowed his pride and pleaded with Qin Luoyao, looking genuinely pitiful, as if he had suffered a great injustice.

Innocent? That word entered Qin Luoyao's ears and became the most ridiculous joke of the moment. Yang Qing had killed Qin Luoyao and had bullied her for years with other kids. Innocent?

To cruelly bully a child and beat them to death—was that just child's play?

"Yang Bahu, after all these years, has your arrogance finally given you a sense of superiority?" Qin Luoyao looked at Yang Bahu with a gaze as cold as ice.
