C6 Entering the Ancestral Hall!

"Yao..." Qin Yuxiao looked at Qin Luoyao, noticing the eagerness to learn in her eyes, and pressed his lips together.

Qin Yuxiao made a slight movement, one that Qin Luoyao didn't miss. As a top mercenary of the 21st century, she could easily pick up on the subtlest of cues.

"Brother, is something worrying you?" Qin Luoyao asked, a bit puzzled. The hesitation in Qin Yuxiao's words and the strange atmosphere at home were things the old Qin Luoyao would never have found odd, but she did now.

"Brother, I’m not the same person I used to be. Do you believe me?" Qin Luoyao offered a faint smile.

Over the years, Qin Yuxiao had shouldered too much alone. Now, as Qin Luoyao, she didn't want him to suffer for her anymore, not even a little.

"Yao, you are who you are, always Qin Luoyao." Qin Yuxiao smiled, gently patting her head with a touch of affection, though his smile held a hint of depth.

"Yes, brother." Qin Luoyao smiled, the word "brother" rolling off her tongue naturally. She had been so lonely before, and now that she finally had family and warmth, she was eager to hold onto it.

Qin Luoyao's change was evident, and he could see it, even if it had only been a day.

Her demeanor had shifted; she was confident, even daring enough to stand up to the Yang family's servants and proactively talk about training. Such a significant change was hard to miss.

"Yao, do you really want to train?" Qin Yuxiao asked, his tone carrying a subtle depth, as if his words held a double meaning.

Without a moment's hesitation, Qin Luoyao nodded with a light smile. Nothing could deter her from the path of training. Without it, how could she find her place in this world?

"Brother, just tell me. No matter what, I will shed the label of 'useless.' I've had enough of the humiliation over the years. I won't let us be bullied anymore. We will live with pride!" Qin Luoyao declared, once again surprising Qin Yuxiao with her determination.

His sister had truly grown up!

"Yao, come with me," Qin Yuxiao said as he stood up and walked out. Qin Luoyao immediately followed him.

In the courtyard, a small section had been converted into a shrine. It was a simple shrine, with unfamiliar portraits hanging inside and incense burning. The place was dimly lit but clean and refreshing.

Qin Luoyao rarely visited this shrine before. She was naturally introverted and not fond of socializing or speaking much, so she hadn't come here often.

Now that she was here, Qin Luoyao was somewhat surprised. Despite its simplicity, the shrine felt comfortable and fresh. The faint scent of incense was pleasant and invigorating.

At the center of the shrine hung a large portrait, taller than a person. It depicted an elderly man in a white robe, with a kind face and slightly flowing garments. Though the portrait was somewhat faded, it still exuded an aura of wisdom and serenity.

This person must have been significant to be honored in the shrine.

"Yao, kneel," Qin Yuxiao instructed as he knelt before the portrait. He called out to Qin Luoyao.

Without hesitation, Qin Luoyao walked over and knelt beside Qin Yuxiao.

Qin Yuxiao looked at Qin Luoyao with satisfaction, then turned his gaze to the portrait.

"Descendants of the Qin family, Qin Yuxiao and Qin Luoyao, pay their respects to the ancestor," Qin Yuxiao declared with solemn authority and loyalty. He bowed his head, and Qin Luoyao immediately followed suit.

The elderly man was indeed an ancestor of the Qin family, which explained why he was honored here.

After bowing three times, Qin Yuxiao suddenly stood up, approached the altar table, and opened a drawer inside.

With a dull creak, a drawer that seemed like it had never been opened before slid out, releasing a light puff of dust. Qin Yuxiao waved his hand gently, dispersing the dust, and retrieved something from inside the drawer. Qin Luoyao watched him curiously, saying nothing.
