C12 Yan She Has Already Left My Life!
Qin Anan hesitated for a moment before tentatively calling out, "Shuyan?"
Hearing Qin Anan's gentle and melodious voice, Liang Shuyan felt a wave of nostalgia wash over him, reminiscent of the past. After a brief pause, he said, "Anan, I'm coming back to Lancheng tomorrow. Can we meet?"
He had seen the email from Tang Yi, announcing his engagement in five weeks, but the bride-to-be wasn't Qin Anan. This news stirred a longing in him to see her again.
Liang Shuyan and Tang Yi were high school and college classmates. They became friends due to their shared interests, and he was curious when he learned Tang Yi had a childhood sweetheart.
However, from the moment he first saw Qin Anan, he was drawn to her. Over time, as they interacted, his feelings deepened. When he graduated, he mustered the courage to confess, but, as expected, she turned him down.
He had planned to move on, especially knowing Qin Anan and Tang Yi might end up together. But after reading Tang Yi's email, the feelings he thought he had buried began to resurface.
Qin Anan recalled the somewhat forlorn figure of Liang Shuyan when he left two years ago. She felt a bit awkward and wanted to refuse but couldn't find the words.
"Then tomorrow at eleven, at Red House Café," Liang Shuyan said, hanging up before Qin Anan could respond.
Staring at her phone, Qin Anan was momentarily stunned by the abrupt end of the call.
Shortly after, a striking couple entered the store. The woman, with delicate features and a graceful appearance, wore a long-sleeved lace white dress. Her long, straight black hair cascaded casually over her chest, highlighting her fair skin and elegant demeanor. As she glanced around the shop, her eyes landed on the woman sitting with her legs crossed on a chair. Her gentle smile froze for a moment before she turned to the handsome and refined man beside her, saying, "Yi, isn't that Anan?"
The man followed the woman's gaze beside him and saw a strikingly beautiful woman sitting casually on the sofa. She was as serene as a lovely painting, making it hard to disturb her tranquility. However, recalling recent events, Tang Yi's expression turned noticeably colder.
He quickly looked away, glancing at the woman next to him without emotion. "Yan, she's no longer part of my life," he stated flatly. He and Qin Anan could never return to their childhood days. He preferred they remain strangers rather than tarnish the last of their memories.
The Qin Anan he knew was no longer the sweet girl from his past. Hearing Tang Yi's emotionless words, Soong Yan felt a deep satisfaction. Her delicate face broke into a gentle smile as she spoke understandingly, "Mr. Yi, I'm sure Anan didn't mean any harm last time. Don't hold it against her."
Wasn't Qin Anan devastated to be abandoned by the person she relied on the most? Soong Yan had always disliked how Qin Anan acted so recklessly, emboldened by Tang Yi's indulgence. The thought of Qin Anan now being forsaken by her closest and dearest filled Soong Yan with a sense of triumph.
Seeing Soong Yan's gentle demeanor, Tang Yi realized how careless Qin Anan had been. "Yan, let's not dwell on it. Mistakes have consequences."
