C14 Soong Yan's Goal!

Qin Anan leaned back in her chair, her expression calm and her eyes narrowing slightly like a lazy cat. There was an elegant yet indescribably relaxed air about her. She glanced at Soong Yan and after a moment, spoke in a detached manner, "Is there anything else? Please say everything you need to at once."

She was curious to see what Soong Yan wanted from her.

Suddenly sensing someone watching her, Qin Anan looked up and saw the man standing behind Soong Yan. As always, he was refined and handsome. Her gaze lingered for a moment before she looked away, as if nothing had happened.

Of course, he was here because of Soong Yan. The thought pricked Qin Anan's heart like a needle, filling her with a bittersweet ache. Even though she had come to terms with it, some things couldn't be dismissed just by saying she didn't care. Seeing Tang Yi and Soong Yan together was still a painful sight.

Noticing Qin Anan's subtle reaction, Soong Yan smiled perfectly and spoke gently, "Anan, about last time, Mr. Yi was just too anxious. We're really sorry. Please forgive us."

As long as Qin Anan still cared about Tang Yi, seeing him treat someone else well would surely hurt her deeply. That was exactly the effect Soong Yan wanted. Why should Qin Anan receive so much affection? Anything Qin Anan had, Soong Yan was determined to take.

Qin Anan looked at Soong Yan's gentle and gracious demeanor, her lips curling into a cold smile. Her beautiful face took on a frosty edge. "And then?"

What was Soong Yan really after? An apology? That was laughable. Qin Anan would sooner believe in the end of the world than believe Soong Yan was sincerely apologizing.

No one else might understand Soong Yan, but she knew her all too well. Soong Yan would go as far as to harm herself to frame someone else. How could a person like that ever admit they were wrong? Did Soong Yan really think she had no temper? After being manipulated to the point of losing everyone around her, did she truly believe they could just shake hands and make up?

Thinking about it, Qin Anan couldn’t help but find it amusing. Was it that she seemed too naive, or was Soong Yan just too innocent?

Soong Yan never expected that after saying so much, she’d only get a lukewarm response from Qin Anan, which caught her by surprise. In the past, as long as Tang Yi was around, no matter what happened, Qin Anan would easily forgive her because of him. Why was it different this time? This left Soong Yan feeling puzzled.

But she quickly buried her confusion and, with a bright smile, said, “Anan, you and Mr. Yi have known each other for so many years. He’s always seen you as a sister. Now that we’re getting engaged, he really hopes you can come to our engagement party.”

How does it feel when the person you like sees you as just a sister? Watching the one you love walk down the aisle with someone else must be incredibly painful, right? Ever since Tang Yi announced their engagement, she had been eagerly anticipating Qin Anan’s reaction.

After all, no one else might see how much Qin Anan liked Tang Yi, but she couldn’t hide it from her. She wanted Qin Anan to put on a brave face and attend their engagement party, imagining it would be quite the spectacle. The happier she was, the more she believed Qin Anan would suffer. This thought filled Soong Yan with a strange sense of satisfaction.

Looking at Soong Yan’s expectant face, Qin Anan felt a surge of anger and discomfort. Her clear eyes gazed coolly at the woman before her. Was this Soong Yan’s true intention?
