C16 In the Future We Won't!
Without waiting for a response from Soong Yan, Qin Anan gracefully walked toward Gu Li, handbag in hand. As she passed Tang Yi, she gave him a brief glance, then continued on as if nothing had happened. She had promised to treat Tang Yi like a stranger, and she intended to keep that promise.
Seeing the indifferent look in Qin Anan's eyes, Tang Yi felt a pang of unexpected sadness, recalling her words from a couple of weeks ago. Wasn't this what he wanted? Yet, her distant gaze left him feeling uneasy and confused.
Gu Li emerged from the fitting room, catching sight of Soong Yan and Tang Yi not far behind Qin Anan. Her cheerful expression instantly darkened. "Anan, are those two causing trouble for you again?"
Seeing Gu Li's serious expression, Qin Anan felt a warmth in her heart. Knowing her friend's temperament, she quickly reassured her, "No, don't worry."
Hearing this, Gu Li relaxed, but still huffed, "Well, if you ever let Soong Yan get the better of you again, don't say you're my friend. I can't handle the embarrassment."
In the past, Qin Anan had been too concerned about Tang Yi, which led her to back down repeatedly. Now, Gu Li hoped her friend wouldn't tolerate Soong Yan's antics any longer.
Amused by Gu Li's feisty demeanor, Qin Anan promised, "Alright, it won't happen again."
She wouldn't let people like Soong Yan hurt her anymore. When you care less about certain things, you have fewer worries, making you unstoppable. That's exactly how she felt now. She no longer cared about Tang Yi, so why should she care about his opinion?
From now on, whether he's happy or sad is none of her concern. And Soong Yan can forget about using Tang Yi to upset her again.
Gu Li nodded in satisfaction, “That's more like it.” She hoped Qin Anan could quickly move past the shadows of Soong Yan and Tang Yi and never let them affect her again.
Qin Anan didn't want her to get involved with Soong Yan and Tang Yi's issues, so Gu Li decided to stay out of it. But she made a mental note to make sure they got what they deserved eventually. They bullied her best friend and thought they could just walk away as if nothing happened. The thought made Gu Li's eyes flash with determination.
Worried that Qin Anan might feel upset, Gu Li quickly changed the subject and stepped back a bit. “Anan, how do you like my dress?”
Hearing this, Qin Anan looked at Gu Li. The black dress highlighted her slender figure and fair skin, with playful ruffles at the hem that made her look charming and sweet.
Seeing Gu Li's expectant gaze, Qin Anan smiled and said, “Not bad, it suits you well.”
Gu Li's face lit up with a playful smile. “Yeah, I really like this dress too.”
Out of the corner of her eye, Gu Li noticed Soong Yan picking out clothes. She realized they must have arrived before she came out and saw them standing close together. Curious, she asked, “By the way, Anan, what did that troublemaker Soong Yan say to you earlier?”
