As agreed, I wait in the forest near the campus for everyone to leave. I had to find an excuse for Owen and Simon to go home without me, but they asked fewer questions than I thought. They must have understood that I wanted to be alone and they too have their own problems to deal with.

When I'm sure I'm alone, I sneak to the library and spot an open window high up
