"Ari!"
When I entered the school, there was suddenly a shout behind me. I turned my head, seeing Clara jogging towards me while holding her backpack in her hand. She was wearing boyfriend jeans and a simple white T- shirt with the words 'Baby Pokémon' on it.
Clara was not a tomboy but she was the type of girl who would rather act like a boy and wear the guy's clothes instead of the girl's ones despite having a killer body. Her straight and long dark hair was scattered all over her shoulders and her brownish, almost black eyes squinted as she smiled at me. It was obvious that she didn't care about any makeover on her face, but she was still beautiful.
"Hey, what's up?" I replied back cheerfully.
"Ew, so fake." She grimaced in my face.
I chuckled weakly at that. "Don't you dare avoid the topic. Spill the beans, bitch."
Immediately, her face changed to scowl and she muttered, "It's Alec. He uh.."
"You confessed to him!?"
"He is bisexual!?" I exclaimed in surprise and the passersby turned to stare at me. I knew Clara liked Alec for a long time, but didn't think she would actually confess.
"Shhhh, no need to be so loud, girl."
"Why didn't he tell us all this time?"
"Yeah, he said it was his first time 'coming out' to anyone. And that had to be me who confessed her love to him," she bitterly rolled her eyes.
Raising my eyebrows towards her, I asked, "So...did he accept it or what? Well, since he's bi, it's an arrow with two pointed heads, right?"
The look in her eyes was profound as she replied, "I don't know. He said he needs time to think about it." Then, she sighed frustratedly and continued, "I mean we have been friends for years and I don't think I was so subtle about liking him all the time we hung out together." Yup, not so subtle at all. Clara was never subtle about anything, she was straightforward, and down to earth type of person. Then again, the responsible person could be completely oblivious about the situation.
"So, what did you guys do yesterday?"
"Nothing. As usual, he picked me up from my house and was telling me about which boba tea shop is the best of all when my mouth slipped out the confession. Don't ask me, I had no fucking idea how it happened either. There, he stopped the car and just..." she waved her hands speechlessly, then she heaved a long sigh. Yeah, the rest was the history.
Speak of the devil and it shall appear right in front of us. As we walked in, we saw Alec was standing by the locker, laughing with his friends. His fluffy brown locks were fluttering as he talked while he was leaning on his side beside the locker.
He was taller than most boys in this school and that was saying something about his height. He finally saw us coming in and looked at our way with his blue eyes which matched the blue backpack on his shoulder. Then, my eyesight landed upon my best friend who was by my side, who was also gawking at the man in front of us openly, almost drooling, so I raised my palm under her chin to help close her mouth. man I want to hide my existence.
Alec strode over towards us as he smiled at me cheekily before he looked at Clara. His smile dimmed a little but he still smiled in understanding towards her.
Ugh so awkward! That's why it's never good for two best friends to date! Now, I am stuck!
"Hey," he was trying to test waters out.
I raised my eyebrows at him.
"Ah yeah, sorry about yesterday. Saw the little missed calls, haha." He said while rubbing his nose.
I jumped and hugged his neck with one arm, causing him to bend over, before I raised my other hand to neck chop him. Once, Twice, Thrice. Not satisfied yet, four times! Or is it Quadruple? How come there was nothing after Thrice as in Fourice?
"Can we do this bullying somewhere secluded to preserve my dignity maybe?" He repeatedly tapped my arm on his neck and whimpered in a choked voice.
"Sure, we will get there after the school." With a final tighter hold which he let out a dying gasp, I released him after that.
"I'm glad you came today, Aria." Alec smiled in understanding at me after catching his breath. Then, he reached out to pat my head..more like messing up my hair, so I instantly slapped his hand, "Hey! Stop that."
Just after that, the bell dinged and I left my two best friends together behind as I went ahead towards my class. They needed to solve their matters out by themselves without me getting in the way.
Suddenly, there was a tap on my shoulder and I turned around to see Polan catching up to me and walking beside me. He had a mane of gorgeous brown hair, its length fell to his neck and curling slightly at the ends where some blonde strands could be seen now and then when his hair fluttered. He said, "what's up?"
"Hey, Polan." I gave him a smile and greeted back. Somehow, a muscle twitched on his face before he chuckled to himself lightly.
"What?" I asked.
"Nothing, hm." He shrugged off.
I scrunched my eyebrows at him but decided to let it go since we had already arrived the class. I was honestly surprised when I saw Oliver sitting in his seat, chatting with his friends; Luke and Philip. I had thought he wouldn't come since he just looked so sad yesterday.
He was wearing a grey undershirt with a black leather jacket on it. His hair looked messy but handsome as ever with a hint of exhaustion on his face. He looks so tired...
I stared at his side profile for a while then, Luke saw me coming in and motioned for him to look at me. No, no, no. Why you gotta do that, Luke?
I immediately lowered my head and quickened my pace to reach to my seat, all while trying my best to avoid the gaze lying on me. I wasn't ready to face him yet after what he called me yesterday. I went up to the last row and got myself seated followed by Alec and Clara beside me.
Alec leaned near me and I heard him muttering, "I saw someone staring daggers into your back when I followed you. And why does he look like someone died?"
I gave him a glance.
He looked at me back and the next second, his eyes widened as if he had realized something, "Hold up, fuck. Right, sorry. Someone did die. I totally forgot about your fiancé's existence." He freaked out before he continued, "No offense, he's hot though."
I gave him another glance.
Alec laughed awkwardly, "I know you already heard about me from Clara. Personally, your fiancé is a whole meal, but since he's yours, bros before hoes, yeah? Wait, is it sis before bros in this case?"
Beside him, Clara smacked him on the head, "Shut up!"
