C200

The moon was bright, and the shadows of the trees were dancing.

Within the silver light that was being cast down from the trees, there was a black shadow constantly moving at a rapid speed. The two of them were so fast that they were unable to tell whether it was a human or some sort of ferocious beast.

"Who is it!"

The man, who was protecting the girl behind him, stared at the black forest with a grave expression. It was as if there were countless netherworld within the depths of the darkness as he silently roared and laughed sinisterly.

However, the strange thing was that the man did not show any fear when faced with this unknown terror. He had a face of serenity, perhaps because he did not care in the first place or because the beautiful figure behind him had reasons he could not fear.

He quickly picked up the wooden branch that he had thrown to the side. Two fresh, roasted fish were stuck in it. However, the man could no longer care about anything else.

"Young master ?"

A hint of fear was in her eyes, a bit curious and a bit satisfied. With her hands behind her back, the woman suddenly discovered that she was no longer worried as she looked at the muscular figure in front of her, as if he was a towering giant rock, shielding her from the wind and the rain.

"Shh."

"En," the man replied. He held the wooden branch in one hand and the girl in the other.

Suddenly, the man's eyes narrowed and he threw the wooden branch deep into the darkness. The sound of air splitting was so loud that it caused the leaves on both sides of the tall branches to explode. It was like a sharp sword was thrusting forward!

"Pa!"

There was no earth-shattering sound as expected. It was only a soft sound, as if a mortal had just casually thrown it to the ground.

He frowned deeply. Although the man did not know what kind of terror was hidden in the darkness, he knew that his violent throw had been easily resolved. He could not help but feel astonished in his heart while being even more on guard.

The man didn't know how powerful his attack was, but he could faintly judge that it was impossible for an ordinary vicious beast to break through it so easily. Hand, throw, and hit it. It was completed in less than a breath's time as if it were flowing clouds and flowing water.

Taking a deep breath, the man understood one thing. The deepest part of the darkness was that it was either human, and it was an extremely terrifying human, or a beast.

Whether it was humans or beasts, they would not be so easy to deal with today.

"If it comes out later, I'll trap it. At that time, you just have to desperately run away. Do not turn back, or you might run into some villagers."

The man was still staring at the darkness as he said this in a low voice.

When the woman heard this, she was slightly stunned, but she immediately understood what the figure in front of her said. In a moment of panic, she grasped the large hand, but before she could open her mouth, she heard a strange sound coming from the darkness.

"Creak creak."

The woman's thoughts were interrupted by the strange sound and she did not say anything. She tightened her slightly sweating hands even more, but her face seemed to have made a decision. She smiled quietly.

With a slight frown, she pulled the girl back a little and pulled out a match from the bonfire. Then, she suddenly threw it into the darkness!

"Squeak, squeak!"

A voice that sounded as if it was filled with anger made the two of them feel stunned for a moment. After a moment, they heaved a sigh of relief and turned their heads to look at each other.

From the sound of it, it turned out to be just a monkey.

"Squeak squeak squeak squeak!"

After a moment of silence, the monkey in the darkness noticed that the man and woman seemed to have stopped moving and started to cry out even more happily. However, the man could hear something else in their cries, as if they were anxious?

"Hmm? What exactly is this beast trying to do? "

The man looked suspiciously at the strange monkey that refused to reveal itself and turned to look at the girl. Seeing that she was also at a loss, he did not open his mouth to inquire further.

"Pa!"

Just as the man raised his head in confusion, a wooden stick suddenly flew out with a "sou" sound. It was neither slanted nor slanted, and it struck directly onto the man's head!

"Heeheehee!"

Although it was not smashed painfully, a faint red mark was left on its forehead. Coincidentally, at this moment, an extremely joyful laughter came from the depths of the darkness, even though it was emitted from the monkey's mouth. It truly had a human-like smell to it.

"Bastard!" What exactly do you want to do!? "

With an explosive roar, the man bent down, pulled out a fire staff, and was about to walk into the forest, but was stopped by the woman.

"Young master, look."

When she looked down, she saw that the woman was holding a wooden stick that the strange monkey had thrown out. When she looked at it with rapt attention, she realized that it was the same stick that she had thrown.

Rubbing his forehead and sniffing with his nose, the man immediately frowned. Sure enough, he even brought the strange monkey's mouth full of liquid and directly smashed it against his own forehead. Thinking this, the anger in his heart flared even more.

"Young master, I think that the monkey might have caught a whiff of the aroma of the fish, but I don't think so."

The lady pointed at the leftover fish on the wooden stick and said as if she had thought of something.

The man did not know whether to laugh or cry when he heard this. He did not expect that such an intelligent beast would be lured out from his random roasting. He had not managed to get even a little bit of profit, yet the grilled fish had been eaten by this beast.

"Heeheehee!"

At the same time that the man shook his head and bitterly smiled, another wave of laughter rang out. However, he felt that he was a bit closer to the two of them, so his voice became clearer.

"Looks like it really did come here in search of Young Master's grilled fish. It does not have any ill intentions."

Laughing softly, the girl looked at the man with eyes filled with gentleness. Recalling the man's words just now, she felt a wave of happiness for no reason at all.

"It's a mess today, so we might as well let it eat enough."

The girl bent down to pick up the grilled fish she had eaten earlier. Unexpectedly, she didn't have the slightest fear as she walked forward and yelled towards the depths of the forest.

"If you want to eat it, then come and get it!"

When the man saw the woman take a step forward, his heart tightened. He hurriedly took two steps forward to block her behind him. After that, he took out the wooden stick in the woman's hand.

"Stand back, don't let the beasts hurt you."

The woman's heart warmed with each of her words, but she did not insist. With a soft grunt, she stood behind the man.

"In this valley, you are quite intelligent. Other than the two of us, I'm afraid that you are the only one. Meeting is fate. If you want to eat, then come out and get it."

Placing the wooden stick on the stone beach, the man spoke with an indifferent tone.

In the deep valley, under the moonlight, was there anyone who could understand the loneliness? Thinking of loneliness?

Other than each other, who would hold their hands tightly? Who would care about the other so much?

Was it because of loneliness? Or was it just a light feeling?

However, who would be able to say it all clearly? Everything was hidden in their hearts, silently enjoying, protecting, and experiencing ? everything was enough.

"Gulp!"

It seemed as if the gluttonous bug was rolling and hooting, or as if it was sucking in a three feet long mouthful of air from its mouth. After a short while, under the gazes of the two, an extremely strange 'monkey' finally jumped out.
