C1 Chapter four

Anger is a wind which blows out the lamp of the mind by Robert Green

Irene's POV

Waking up to meet an unfamiliar gray room. On instincts, I hurried and sat on the bed I was on. The duvet wrapped around me and cocooned my body like a mother bird would her child. I took a survey of the room and it reeked of testosterone. My eyes continued their scan till they fell on a male figure half way across the room. He looked uncomfortable as his large frame was barely hanging on the sofa. He was snoring too, full blown snores that could wake up anyone left him and that's when I giggled.

Brown eyes stared at me and that was when I noticed how good looking he was. He had that early morning look all guys had. First confusion for the first three seconds and then full awareness of his surroundings. It was cute the way he rubbed his eyes, trying to get the foggy image out of them.

"Why are you giggling?" His raspy voice asked as his face furrowed in confusion when I giggled again. I gasped as his morning voice was out of this world. Unknown to me, I was making a puddle in my panties. Add his voice to his Greek- god look and he was a twelve out of ten.

I sighed, staring with my hands on my chin. I knew I had a silly look on my face but I didn't mind as I tapped my cheeks slowly with my fingers. He then gave me a creeped out look and rose to his feet, strode towards the windows and opened the blinds. Rays of sunlight escaped into my eyes and that was when my head started aching ___ scratch that___ my head was pounding like I had smashed it against a wall repeatedly.

He noticed my discomfort as I massaged my blazing forehead with my palm. He sighed and slipped out the door, returning a minute later with some pain killers.

"Here," he handed them to me along with a glass of water. The tasteless fluid hit my tongue and I greedy drank it all along with the pills. I didn't notice before how thirsty I was. Slowly, I dropped the glass on the bedside table and brought my hands back to myself. I began fidgeting when he continued to stare and me, not moving an inch as silence rained down in the room. The tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife.

No words was spoken between us but I guessed he understood my silent question when I gazed back and forth between him and the bed. My thoughts were running wild.

"No, we didn't have sex," he said bluntly and went back to his sofa. My eyes turned saucers maybe even bigger. That wasn't my silent question.

"That wasn't my question," I voiced my exact thoughts. I was fully clothed and knew nothing of that manner occurred. He rose his brows in confusion, beckoning me to go on.

"I want to know how I got here."

"Oh! That." He fell silent for a second before he continued, "We met at a bar last night where you told me about your messed up relationship which was kind of stupid by the way," he held up his phone without a care in the world. He looked and acted like a business person.

"How could you not know your partner rolled the other way?" He continued, slicing through my heart with each word but I couldn't stop him. It felt like a stab to my chest as he continued. My lips couldn't move but my ears were wide open, listening and digesting his poisonous words.

"That's just stupid," he added mockingly, insulting my intellect which caused my fury to go up the ladder. I couldn't contain my anger and in minutes, I exploded.

"Who do you think you are?" I asked, raising my voice, about bringing down the roof as my temper grew. My eyes turned slit as I narrowed my eyes. He was stunned by my outburst but I wasn't finished. I was going to give him a piece of my mind. He just messed with the wrong person. Irene Ocean doesn't take crap from anyone. I may seem quiet but insults was something I didn't tolerate no matter the situation.

"You have no right to talk to me in that manner, you have no idea what I've been through these past months that this happened so don't talk to me like you know everything," I didn't know when I approached him and had my fingers up him face. He was so stunned, he hadn't said anything.

"I could be the stupidest person in the world which I'm not, and that still would not give you the right to say it to my face," I knew I was red. My anger went up the scale in minutes. Something I had been controlling for sometime but this guy had me crazy. If it wasn't for his good looks, I would have scratched his face and left some claw marks.

I glared at him when he tried to defend himself. He shut right up after. I leaned over him to grab my bag he had placed behind the sofa. A quick search around the room and I was with all my stuff. I threw one last glare at him as I stormed out of his apartment with my dignity intact.

He was so full of himself. Feeling on top of the world like he was better than the rest of us. What did he think of himself? A god? The nerve of the guy. With how hot he was, I would have thought he was smart but how wrong I was. I don't know why the pretty ones always have to be so stupid. And to think I was beginning to crush on him. I take it all back. Can't crush on a moron.

Thanks for reading!
