C6 Bring Her Back

After staying at the hotel for a while, Lauren dragged her heavy luggage and left.

As the night gradually deepened, she walked aimlessly on the street. The street lights pulled her figure very far, and her thin body looked especially lonely in the night.

Perhaps it was because she had cried, Lauren accepted the reality with a calm expression.

For her, the most important thing right now was to return to the country.

She had to pay for her naivety. If she had to blame someone, she could only blame herself for not being able to see through Duncan's true colors earlier. Now that she had fallen to such a state, she had brought it upon herself.

After recalling her thoughts, Lauren suddenly stopped and looked around in confusion.

It was already past eleven o'clock in the evening, and the streets were very quiet. Only two small shops were still open.

To her left was a restaurant, and the fragrance of food wafted out from inside. Suddenly, her stomach made a gurgling sound.

Lauren licked her lips and could not help but swallow her saliva.

She was very hungry!

Previously, she had been reluctant to eat anything because she couldn't bear to spend money on food on the plane. After that, so many things happened, and when she came back to her senses, she realized that her stomach was aching.

Lauren frowned and took out her wallet from her luggage, intending to go in and eat something.

However, when she opened her wallet, the remaining thirty dollars made her feel as if the entire world had turned dark.

She had spent all of her savings on the plane ticket, and she didn't have much money left. Not to mention eating, even her accommodation was a problem, let alone three days of living in this place.

Realizing the severity of the problem, Lauren sat down on the side of the street in a dejected manner.

What should I do?

Besides knowing Duncan, she didn't know anyone else here. Who could she ask for help at this time?

It was impossible to find Duncan, so she would rather starve to death.

Should I go back and find Layne?

No! She was in a hurry to escape from that place just now, so it wouldn't be strange if she went back now.

After thinking about it, Lauren finally gave up on eating and asking for help from others. Instead, she found a small park nearby and planned to spend the night on the bench. She would think of a way to find a way to find Layne when the sun rose.

At dawn, the sky was already covered in fog. The night was as dark as ink, and not a trace of moonlight could be seen. It seemed like it was going to rain.

She leaned against the back of the chair. The long journey and the mental blow from the night had made her feel dizzy.

At this moment, a man's voice suddenly came from afar. She was so shocked that her eyes widened. She listened carefully and heard footsteps approaching from afar.

Lauren's nerves were a little tight, and she almost reflexively pulled her luggage and left.

After all, she was a girl. It was not safe to be alone at night, not to mention that she was in a foreign country. If anything happened, she probably wouldn't be able to return to this world.

Thinking of this, she couldn't help but quicken her pace.

Just as she was about to reach the exit of the park, a loud shout suddenly came from behind her, "I found her! She's here!"

Startled, Lauren turned around to look.

She didn't know when a burly man in a black suit had suddenly appeared behind her. He spoke in English, but because he seemed to be confused, Lauren didn't react at all.

It was not until another three or four burly men ran over, one of them holding a photo in his hand. He took a picture of her face and said, "It's her. Mr. Duncan is looking for her. Hurry up and bring her back!"

Lauren slowly came back to her senses and her expression changed drastically. She pulled her luggage and ran out.

Mr. Duncan...

He already knew that she had left the hotel and sent people to bring her back?
