Fu Xuezi looked at the platinum ring on her finger, a pleasant smile flashing across her face. "Chen isn't back yet. I'll take you on a tour of the office."

"I saw him in the lobby when I got on the elevator. But I don't think I need to see him now."

Now that she had witnessed the truth, Lu Yao could not bear it any longer. She took off the burning ring on her finger and placed it on Fu Xuezi's palm. "He was the one who bought me this ring. There's no need for me to keep it now. Could you remember to return it to him?"

Lu Yao turned to leave. Watching her back, Fu Xuezi's expression darkened.

She removed the platinum ring on her finger and placed it in the velvet box. Then she placed Lu Yao's ring next to it.

When the delivery for the ring arrived some time ago, Fu Xuezi received it. When she saw that it was a velvet box from Tiffany's and that it contained a beautiful ring, she could not help but take it out to see how it looked on her hand.

It was not like she told Lu Yao that Shao Yunchen had gifted it to her. It was Lu Yao herself who misunderstood the situation, and Fu Xuezi conveniently let her.

Fu Xuezi did not mind it one bit.

Lu Yao held onto Tian Tian's hand and left the Long Teng building. She called Mr. Ji as soon as she stepped out of the door. "Mr. Ji, please send someone else over. I'm not suitable to be a part of this meeting. I don't need the money either."

Without waiting for Mr. Ji to reply, she hung up the phone.

She had only been inside their office building for ten minutes, but to Lu Yao it felt like a century had passed.

Tian Tian noticed that Lu Yao looked sad. She pulled her hand and Lu Yao bent down. Tian Tian hugged Lu Yao and rubbed the corner of her eyes with her soft hands.

"Auntie is fine." Lu Yao laughed, her voice choking up with emotion. "You must be very hungry. Let's go and have lunch!"

Tian Tian nodded.

Lu Yao took Tian Tian to Pi Shengke. Tian Tian was picky about her food, but she seemed not to dislike the restaurant. She did not mind having pizza and pasta.

The restaurant was crowded at noon. Quite a few people waited in the queue and it was noisy.

Finally, when their food was served, Lu Yao found that she had no appetite. Tian Tian handed her a pizza slice.

Lu Yao forced a smile on her face, but could not bite into the pizza. The faint taste of seafood made her feel nauseous. She felt bile rise in her throat. Covering her mouth, she ran to the washroom.

She had not eaten anything since morning, so she only spit out water.

Lu Yao understood her body. She paled when she realized what this unusual nausea could be hinting towards.

As soon as Tian Tian finished eating, Lu Yao went to the hospital with her. She needed to get a pregnancy test done...

Inside the nurse's room, the two bars on the pregnancy strip stung her eyes as soon as she saw them. She was so shocked that she almost doubled over

The nurse glanced at Tian Tian and laughed. "Your daughter is old enough that you can have a second child. Remember that you're pregnant now, so don't wear high heels for a while."

"Thank you."

After the nurse left, Lu Yao sat paralyzed on the hospital bench for a long time.

Shao Yunchen did not want children, so he was always very careful in bed. How did this happen? Lu Yao could hardly believe it.

When Lu Yao heard his voice, the tears in her eyes fell harder. "Shao Yunchen, I want a divorce. I don't want anything to do with you anymore. If you don't agree to a divorce, we'll meet in court!"

Lu Yao ended the call and blacklisted Shao Yunchen's number at once.

She did not even want to listen to his voice.

Lu Yao felt better after crying. She wiped her tears and took Tian Tian to the airport.

They returned to Southern City at half past seven that night.

Xiang Dongnan had still not returned, so Lu Yao brought Tian Tian to her house. She informed her mother that Tian Tian was Xiang Dongnan's daughter, and that she had borrowed two million and five hundred thousand yuan from him.

After learning about Tian Tian's condition from Lu Yao, Mrs. Lu sighed. "Dongnan has been living a difficult life. If he is so busy, let me take care of his kid. It's the least I can do for him. After all, he has lent us so much money."
