C27 Where Did You Fly Over From?

Once they reached the hotel entrance, Lu Yao got out of the car with her bag in hand.

Xiang Dongnan was waiting at the entrance after receiving her message. Seeing that she was fine, he heaved a sigh of relief. "Yao Yao!"

"Sorry, Dongnan. I made you worry." Lu Yao smiled at him in embarrassment.

"It's good that you're fine." Xiang Dongnan smiled gently and could not help but touch her head.

Shao Yunchen, who had just got out of the car, witnessed the intimate exchange. His eyes dimmed and he lost the will to talk to Lu Yao alone. Closing the car door firmly, he threw the key to the valet next to him before entering the hotel.

Lu Yao stared after him. "Shao Yunchen!" she called after him before she could stop herself.

Despite her shout, the man walked away without even turning his head back.

The whole episode had left a bitter taste in her mouth. She felt strange.

Xiang Dongnan looked in the direction he left. "Did you quarrel with him on the road?" he asked hesitantly.

Lu Yao's mood had soured. She shook her head gloomily. "It wasn't a loud argument."

It was just a meal. He probably had not even eaten his fill.

Xiang Dongnan assumed that she was just tired. "You are tired. Go back and rest."

Tian Tian had already fallen asleep, so Lu Yao bid goodbye to Xiang Dongnan before returning to her own room. She took a bath and almost fell asleep in the bathtub.

When she emerged from the bath wrapped in a towel, the water had gone cold. She slipped under the quilt and fell asleep without a thought.

Her biological clock made her get up as early as she usually did most mornings.

Xiang Dongnan was busy, so Lu Yao took Tian Tian to the hotel's restaurant for breakfast.

She bumped into Shao Yunchen while she was helping Tian Tian get her food. Fu Xuezi was next to him. Both of them were dressed in casual attire. He was handsome and almost six feet tall. She looked good next to him at five foot three. They appeared well-matched.

As Lu Yao ran her eyes over him, he too happened to look over. Their gazes met, but Shao Yunchen did not stop to greet her. He moved away.

Lu Yao curled her lips. She lowered her head and picked food for Tian Tian as she asked the latter about her preferences.

After a while, Tian Tian tugged at Lu Yao's clothes, pointing at a small piece of cake with her pinky finger. She blinked at her.

"You want cake?" Lu Yao asked.

Tian Tian nodded.

Lu Yao smiled gently. "All right, I will bring you a piece."

Truthfully, she herself was tempted to have cake. It was common knowledge that pregnant women developed a liking for sweets.

She picked up a knife and cut a small piece for Tian Tian, then cut a big piece for herself. As she turned around, she did not notice the man who passed in front of her. Just as she was about to bump into the bowl of hot soup in his hands, her mind went blank and she forgot to move aside.

When she finally came to her senses, the first thing she heard was a familiar low voice. "Lu Yao! What were you doing just now? Don't you know how to move?"

Lu Yao looked at the cake on his clothes, then at his handsome face. She laughed dryly, feeling guilty. "Where did you fly over from?"

Shao Yunchen shrugged, took one of the tissues on the table and wiped at his coat. "Why did I never realize how silly you can be? You simply didn't bring your brains with you."

Lu Yao's face darkened. It was just an accident. How could she have the time to think about her reflexes?

Besides, he had only been around her a handful of times in the three years that they had been married. Where did he get off, calling her silly?

Bastard!

Gritting her teeth in annoyance, she wished she could slap the cake in her other hand on his clothes as well.
