C38 She Only Trusts Me

Chapter Thirty Eight: She Only Trusts Me

Lu Yao's expression hardened. "Now? Are they downstairs? "

Lu Yao had gone to the front desk to ask the receptionist to tell her if they arrived, but she didn't expect them to be here so quickly.

Lu Yao glanced at the girl sitting on the toilet and said on her phone, "How many people are there?"

Shao Yunchen had not come, had he?

"Three."

Three?

She bit her lower lip and asked in a whisper, "Oh, Liu, is there a young man among them who is handsome but reserved? He must be in a gray suit."

She thought it must be gray, although she could not make out earlier if it was black or gray from the distance.

The receptionist muttered to herself for a second before replying softly, "Ms. Lu, I don't know what you're talking about. None of the three are handsome at all."

Lu Yao let out a small sigh of relief and said lightly, "All right, invite them in."

After Lu Yao hung up, she waited a few more minutes for Tian Tian to clean up before leaving.

"Are you hungry? Have this."

Passing by the cafeteria, Lu Yao bought a bag of snacks and gave it to her. At that moment, she saw three people turn round the corner from the elevator.

"Long Teng Corporation?" Lu Yao asked them as she walked over.

"Hello, are you Ms. Lu?"

Lu Yao shook hands with them. "Yes, hello. I'm Lu Yao. Welcome to Ying Xin Technology Corporation."

When the representatives saw Tian Tian hiding behind her, they smiled politely. "Is that your daughter? She's very cute."

Lu Yao thought it better not to explain who Tian Tian was and just smiled apologetically. "Sorry, it wasn't convenient for me to leave her at home, so I brought her here. She is very obedient and doesn't disturb the work."

"It's all right, we understand. It's not easy taking care of kids." The others nodded in agreement.

Without further pleasantries, Lu Yao took them to the conference room to discuss their partnership and contracts.

After working a few years in the company, she was able to handle meetings of this scale.

The clock struck twelve after a while.

She had a tacit understanding of what it meant to take them out for lunch.

"It's noon. Why don't we go downstairs and have lunch? We can continue after that."

The representatives looked at each other and nodded. "All right."

Lu Yao nodded back and turned to the assistant standing behind her. "Zhang, call up the restaurant and reserve a table for us. Tell them that we'll come shortly."

"Ms. Lu, there's no need to go through so much trouble. We explored the places nearby this morning and found a good restaurant we could go to. How about you come with us?" one of the representatives interrupted her with a smile.

"I think that's a good idea. We'll be in each other's vicinity from now on. It'll be good to be out in the neighborhood for a while," someone else said.

Lu Yao hesitated for a moment before smiling. "Why not? Please wait for me downstairs. I'll only take a minute."

"Sure."

When they left, Zhang, the assistant, looked at Tian Tian and could not help but ask, "Ms. Lu, do you really need to go?"

Lu Yao sighed. "I've already committed to it. Wouldn't it be rude if I said no?"

"Then why don't you ask someone from the department to look after the kid?" He grinned.

Lu Yao carressed Tian Tian's hair and shook her head. "Other than her father, she only trusts me."

Saying that, she looked at the assistant and smiled. "You're young and hardworking. If you really want to help me, just drink my share of wine at lunch."

No one in the company knew that she was pregnant. She did not know what excuse she could give for not drinking with the representatives.

Zhang straightened his posture and smiled. He said solemnly, "All right, Ms. Lu. Don't you worry, I will definitely help you out with that."
