C2 Betrayal

It was past 1 am and there were no more cars on the street. It took Fianna a long time to get a taxi.

By the time she returned to her small rented house, it was already two o'clock. After showering and cleaning her injured feet, she took two stomach pills. Ever since she started this line of work, stomach pills were Fianna's most commonly used medicine. Covering her stomach, Fianna laid down on the bed and slept.

Although the pain did not immediately alleviate, and her stomach was still screaming, the fatigue in her body could not be stopped anymore. Fianna fell asleep.

In her dreams, she dreamt of Lowell again. She dreamt of their incomparably happy past. Lowell would make her favorite sweet and sour pork ribs, and he would smile and look at her warmly.

Suddenly, Lowell changed into a different appearance. He was cold and ruthless, and he said to her with a ferocious face, "Fianna, I hate you. Why did you lie to me? Why did you leave me? I will make you pay the price."

"No, no, Lowell, I didn't lie to you. I don't want to leave you. Listen to me, listen to me..."

However, Lowell did not even turn his head back. Fianna wanted to catch him, but she only caught air. Fianna woke up from her dream.

She had another dream. Ever since she left Lowell five years ago, every time she thought of Lowell or people or things related to Lowell, Fianna would have this dream. For the past five years, this dream had been repeated countless times, but the outcome had never changed.

Fianna thought to herself that she owed Lowell too much. In this lifetime, she had owed too many people, her parents, Lowell, and even Ronan.

Fianna worked in the public relations department and lived a very different life. The night was the real time for her to work.

This job was better described as a salesperson or a public lady. It was worse described as a saleswoman who would drink and smile. However, it was not selling herself. It was not that noble. Even if she had not wronged Lowell, she was not qualified to be with Lowell anymore. Fianna thought to herself.

The next day, when Fianna arrived at the company, she found that everyone was very enthusiastic to greet her. Fianna responded to everyone one by one, but Fianna felt that it was strange. However, she did not know what to ask. She could only do her job as usual, but she found that everyone was looking at her strangely and seemed to be hesitating.

Fianna was not a person who would dwell on these things. She did not want to waste time thinking about these problems. However, the strange looks from everyone made her feel uncomfortable. Just as she was about to ask what was going on, the manager walked over.

Fianna pretended to work hard, but the manager walked to her enthusiastically and said happily,

"Fianna, you are really a great contributor to our company!"

Fianna was stunned. She did not know what had happened. She thought that the manager was just encouraging her to work so hard last night to get the contract. She could only smile and say, "It was nothing last night. I did what I should do. I will work hard to get the contract in the future."

This time, the manager was stunned.

"Fianna, what are you talking about? I was talking about the West Venture Capital. You don't know, right? Today, the boss of the West Venture Capital personally came to our company and said that he wants to invest 10 million in our company. He also specified that you are responsible for this project. I have already told everyone about it."

Fianna was stunned. West Venture Capital? Lowell?

What was he trying to do?
