C17 Soong Qingyue Do You Want to Die?
"Soong Qingyue, have you lost your mind?" The roar was filled with fury, and Soong Qingyue felt a powerful shove that sent her tumbling to the side. The sting from scraping her hand against the ground jolted her back to reality. She looked up to see Ye Qingchuan glaring at her, his dark eyes seething with rage.
She hadn't expected Ye Qingchuan to come to her rescue. Wasn't he supposed to just stand there and watch her get run over?
"What are you staring at? Help me up already," Ye Qingchuan demanded, his voice dripping with disdain as if he hadn't been the one to save her life moments ago.
Soong Qingyue scrambled to assist Ye Qingchuan, but he roughly pushed her hand away. "Never mind, I'll get up myself. I don't want your filthy hands on me."
Already upset from not being able to find Dabao and Erbao, Soong Qingyue's frustration boiled over with Ye Qingchuan's provocation. "You ask for help, then reject it. Ye Qingchuan, what's wrong with you?"
"Yes, I'm sick," Ye Qingchuan snapped back. "Sick for saving you. I should've let that car run you over, so you wouldn't be a constant irritant."
Soong Qingyue let out a low scoff. There it was, his true feelings laid bare. He still wished she were dead.
With her mind preoccupied with Dabao and Erbao, Soong Qingyue had no desire to engage further with Ye Qingchuan. She left him with a parting shot, "Rest assured, Mr. Ye, even if I survive, I won't be cluttering up your view."
With that, she resumed her search along the street.
Ye Qingchuan's brow furrowed deeply, his otherwise impeccable face twisted with anger. Did she have no heart at all? Not even a word of thanks after he had saved her life.
He let out a cold laugh. The day Soong Qingyue showed gratitude would be the day the sky rained crimson.
Casting one last glance at the retreating figure of Soong Qingyue, Ye Qingchuan turned and settled into his car.
Soong Dabao, with his large, inquisitive eyes, dangled his legs and asked Ye Qingchuan, "Uncle, where are you taking us?"
Ye Qingchuan's lips twisted into a sinister smile.
If Soong Qingyue couldn't find them, she would surely be frantic.
Unbeknownst to Ye Qingchuan, it was the disappearance of Dabao and Erbao that had nearly led to Soong Qingyue being hit by a car, an accident from which he had rescued her.
Soong Dabao, noticing Ye Qingchuan's silence, wondered to himself.
Was this uncle mute?
After all, he had previously joined that villain, Soong Qingrou, in tormenting his mother.
Dabao's eyes darted around before he leaned in and whispered to Erbao, "Erbao, this uncle is a bad man. We have to find a way to tell Mommy."
Erbao nodded, signaling his understanding.
The driver, sensing the mounting tension, involuntarily shuddered.
He was itching to inform Dabao that his "whisper" was loud enough for Director Ye to hear every word.
Yet Dabao remained oblivious, convinced he was still sharing secrets with Erbao. "Erbao, remember, this uncle is very, very bad. He's always picking on Mommy.
You know, Mommy being sent to jail? It was his doing."
Soong Erbao's eyes grew wide in shock, as if asking, "Is that true?"
Soong Dabao nodded solemnly, though he was merely speculating. Since the uncle was close to that wicked Soong Qingrou, he instinctively linked him to the incident.
Meanwhile, Ye Qingchuan sat upfront, his expression turning increasingly icy.
