C5 Since You're Back Marry Someone Else!

Two hours later, at the Soong family villa, Soong Qingrou had arrived home first and was now comfortably seated on the sofa, engaged in a pleasant conversation.

Soong Qingyue stood at the door like an outsider.

It was Soong Qingrou who first spotted her. "Sister, why are you just standing there? Come in already. This is your home, after all."

The feigned innocence on Soong Qingrou's face nauseated Soong Qingyue. Without a glance in her direction, she led Dabao and Erbao toward her room.

"Stop right there!" Soong Yi commanded in a stern voice.

Soong Qingyue halted but didn't turn to face him.

Soong Yi's frown deepened. "Three years in prison and you've lost all sense of manners? Qingrou is speaking to you. Are you listening?"

A cold smirk played on Soong Qingyue's lips.

Qingrou, Qingrou. She was all anyone could see.

If it hadn't been for Soong Qingrou, she would never have been imprisoned, nor would she have had to raise Dabao and Erbao behind bars for three years.

As Soong Qingyue remained silent, Soong Yi's voice grew even more severe and tinged with anger. "Soong Qingyue, are you deaf? And those two brats, who gave you permission to bring them back?"

Soong Dabao, though young, was sharp. Hearing Soong Yi's words, he immediately bristled. His little face scrunched up in anger, his dark eyes clouded with discontent. "Grandpa, Dabao and Erbao aren't brats. They're my mom's kids."

Soong Yi let out a scornful laugh. "Children raised in prison—if they're not brats, then what are they? Besides, I don't acknowledge any grandchildren of convicts."

His words unjustly condemned Dabao and Erbao.

Soong Dabao huffed in disagreement. "What's wrong with growing up in prison? A child raised there knows better than to carelessly call others brats. And they certainly know not to judge people through a biased lens because of their past."

That a three-year-old could utter such sentiments was surely a testament to Soong Qingyue's teachings.

Like mother, like child, as the saying goes.

Soong Yi quickly redirected his criticism toward Soong Qingyue, "Soong Qingyue, is this the fine son you've raised? He's clearly come out of prison with no sense of discipline."

Soong Qingyue, cradling Erbao and holding Dabao's hand, scanned the faces of everyone present before her gaze settled on Soong Qingrou's fragile visage. "At least I didn't teach my son to pin his crimes on someone else after committing murder."

Soong Qingrou trembled under Soong Qingyue's stare and quickly sought refuge in Ann Yun's arms, "Mom…"

Ann Yun, who had remained quiet until now, gave Soong Qingyue a look. "What's the point of bringing this up now? You're back, and I'd rather not hear about the past from you again."

"Mom, why do you keep defending Soong Qingrou time and again, even to the extent of making me take her place in jail?" Soong Qingyue was genuinely baffled, particularly by Ann Yun and Soong Yi's attitudes toward her. It was as though her sole purpose was to clean up after Soong Qingrou. She bore the Soong name too! She was just as much a living, breathing person!

Ann Yun's eyes flickered at Soong Qingyue's question, but she avoided a direct answer. "Now that you're back, embrace your role as the First Miss Soong. I've arranged a blind date for you tomorrow. The man doesn't mind that you have a child. Make sure you impress him; I expect nothing less."

Soong Qingyue was stunned by Ann Yun's declaration, her eyes wide with disbelief. "Mom, what are you saying?"

"The man is the CEO of Qiheng Group. He may be a bit older, but he's certainly a suitable match for you," Ann Yun stated, leaving no room for discussion.
