C7 Soong Qingyue You Really Are Petty!
Soong Qingyue gripped her fists tightly. "I don't care whether they are Ye Qingchuan's children or not, they are my children. As long as they bear the Soong name, the so-called stain you speak of will never be erased."
"Furthermore, if it weren't for your precious daughter Soong Qingrou, this stain wouldn't even exist!"
"You should be settling your scores with Soong Qingrou, not me, and certainly not with Dabao and Erbao!"
Soong Yi's face was livid with rage. "How can you despise Qingrou to such an extent that you would defame her like this? For three years, there hasn't been a day when Qingrou hasn't defended you. Yet, you persistently target her. How could I have fathered such a daughter?"
"Dad, please don't speak about my sister in that way. I know that because of me, she lost your affection, which is why she has never liked me. If she dislikes me so much, I'm willing to step aside and leave the Soong family. I'll do anything to make her happy."
Soong Qingrou's words pierced Soong Yi's heart like a dagger.
Pointing at Soong Qingyue, Soong Yi exclaimed, "Look at the sacrifices Qingrou has made for you, and yet you! How can you be so narrow-minded?"
Narrow-minded?
Soong Qingrou had gotten her sent to prison, and now she was accusing her of being narrow-minded?
She was tempted to ask exactly what sacrifices Soong Qingrou had made.
All it took was a few words from her, and she had everyone's sympathy.
"Qingyue, I am profoundly disappointed in you," Ann Yun stated icily before turning to Soong Qingrou with a gentle tone, "Qingrou, your health isn't the best. Go and rest. Don't worry, Mom won't let you be wronged."
"Mhm," Soong Qingrou responded meekly and left the living room with Ann Yun.
Soong Yi glared at Soong Qingyue with venom. "It should be you who's leaving, not Qingrou. You must attend the matchmaking appointment tomorrow. It must be a success, or else... You're well aware that a convict without the Soong family's protection can't possibly survive in the capital with two bastards."
Soong Yi was threatening her.
Her father was doing this all for the Soong's project.
He could even make it impossible for her to survive in the capital.
What kind of sin had Soong Qingyue committed in her past life to be born into the Soong family, which devoured people without remorse?
"Think it over carefully."
With those words, Soong Yi left the living room.
In the now empty living room, only Soong Qingyue, Dabao, and Erbao remained.
Soong Dabao, despite the pain in his back, approached Soong Qingyue, took her hand, and asked, "Mom, are you okay?"
"Mom, you still have me, and you have my sister. We will always be your solid support! Let's leave this place. I'll find a way to take care of you."
Determination shone in Soong Dabao's grape-like eyes as he gripped his small hands tightly.
He was resolved not to let his mother endure any more mistreatment.
Back in prison, everyone had been kind to him and his mother.
But now, outside, her own family treated her mother so poorly.
He decided his mother didn't need such relatives.
Soong Qingyue crouched down to look at Dabao and Erbao.
She, too, longed to leave.
But where could she go if she left this place?
Soong Qingyue sighed and led Dabao and Erbao to her old room.
Three years had passed, yet the room remained unchanged.
Fortunately, Dabao’s back injury was minor, just a red patch that was easily treated.
Having not eaten since their release from prison, Soong Dabao now pouted and rubbed his belly, "Mom, I'm hungry."
Soong Erbao nodded in agreement.
Soong Qingyue stroked their heads and said, "Mom will go make some food for you."
