C10 Divorce!

She felt a piercing pain with every breath and gradually began to lose the little consciousness she had left.

She had loved him for so long, yet she had never felt this exhausted before. Perhaps it was destiny, destiny that decreed Ye Suhee and Murong Yu were not meant to be together.

If destiny was unchangeable, she thought it best to let go.

"Where's the doctor? Get the doctor here, quick!"

Murong Yu, frantic, carried Ye Suhee out of the ward, leaving behind three people still stunned by the unfolding events.

"She's pregnant? How could she be pregnant?"

No sooner had Murong Yu left than Ye Sunuan began screaming hysterically, "Impossible! Didn't you say she couldn't get pregnant? Did you lie to me?"

"No, it's true that it's very difficult for her to conceive. How could a one in ten thousand chance happen to her?" Luo Yu was equally incredulous.

"Now it's all ruined. Mr. Yu will never be with me again. Mom, what do we do?"

Ye Sunuan burst into panicked tears, the sight of blood everywhere triggering a wave of fear.

"This..." Luo Yu turned to Ye Shengcheng, who was still in a daze, and growing concerned at his vacant expression, she asked, "What's wrong?"

"Did I just kill my own grandchild?"

Although Ye Shengcheng had little affection for Ye Suhee, she was still his daughter, and the unborn child was his blood. Now, having caused their deaths, how could he not be wracked with guilt?

"What are you talking about?" Seeing Ye Shengcheng's remorse, Luo Yu quickly tried to absolve him from any blame, "Ye Suhee was spouting nonsense and falsely accusing Nuan. She deserved to be punished!"

"But..." Ye Shengcheng, looking at the blood on the floor and thinking of the grandchild he'd lost, felt as if his hands were stained with guilt, "It's always me..."

"Dad!" Ye Sunuan caught her mother's eye and feigned guilt as she tried to console Ye Shengcheng, "Blame me if you must, I upset my sister."

They couldn't afford to let Ye Shengcheng feel any sympathy for Ye Suhee!

"How could I blame you?" As expected, when Ye Sunuan took the blame upon herself, Ye Shengcheng's inner scales tipped once more. In truth, he had always been heavily biased towards Sunuan. He answered as if under a spell, "Your sister was at fault."

Ye Sunuan softly sobbed, leaning into her father Ye Shengcheng's broad shoulders, yet out of his sight, she threw a triumphant smirk at Luo Yu.

Luo Yu approached and gently stroked Ye Sunuan's head. The three of them huddled together, effectively leaving Ye Suhee feeling like an outsider in her own family.

In the hospital's obstetrics and gynecology department, Murong Yu's hands trembled as he watched the medical team frantically work around Ye Suhee, who was on the bed. The piercing cries stabbed at his heart.

"Oh no, the patient hasn't fully miscarried, she's going into shock!"

"The patient is losing too much blood! Quick, get to the blood bank!"

"We need to operate immediately! Move, move, move!"

Murong Yu was inadvertently bumped by a nurse rushing by. She didn't apologize but instead paused to give Murong Yu a glance. Her face was mostly covered, yet her eyes conveyed a clear message of reproach.

Overcome with guilt, Murong Yu murmured to the stranger, "It was an accident..." But she was too preoccupied to engage with him, dashing off to retrieve blood.

Standing there, Murong Yu felt an overwhelming sense of powerlessness for the first time.
