C19 Secretly Making Things Difficult for Him!

The maid assigned by the butler to care for Ye Suhee wasn't selected through the usual process; she volunteered for the role. The butler was puzzled by her eagerness, especially since she was typically indifferent to her mistress, but with the position filled, he consented.

"Miss, I'm aware that I've taken on the responsibility of looking after Ye Suhee. Rest assured, she won't have it easy," Mo, the maid, assured Ye Sunuan while carrying a lunchbox on her way to the hospital.

Indeed, Mo was a covert operative Ye Sunuan had placed within the Ye family to discreetly monitor Ye Suhee's interactions with Murong Yu.

Upon ending the call, Mo entered the hospital's garden and stretched languidly. It was about ten in the morning; she was supposed to have arrived at eight to bring breakfast to Ye Suhee but had procrastinated until now.

Settling on a stone bench, Mo leisurely opened the lunchbox. "Quite the feast," she scoffed, picking through the food meant for Ye Suhee and beginning to eat.

An entire half-hour passed as she nibbled and selected, leaving only a scattering of vegetarian options in the box. Satisfied, she closed the container and made her way to the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department.

Mo's audacity stemmed from her certainty that Ye Suhee wouldn't report her, and even if she did, Murong Yu wouldn't bother to intervene.

"Madam, here is the breakfast prepared by the household," Mo announced unabashedly upon entering the ward. She opened the food box and set it on the bedside cabinet.

Ye Suhee cast a dismissive glance at the meager leftovers and inwardly scoffed. Breakfast? At this hour?

Mo showed no inclination to attend to Ye Suhee further, asking instead, "Does Madam have any other requests?"

"No, you may go," Ye Suhee replied, her voice icy.

With a silent sneer, Mo exited the ward. She was supposed to remain at Ye Suhee's side, but her mistress's dismissal suited her just fine.

Little did Ye Sunuan know, as she plotted to make Ye Suhee's life difficult through neglect and poor meals, that Ye Suhee had no need for such attentions.

"Miss Ye, is your abdomen still hurting?" Shortly after Mo had departed, two nurses arrived to check on her.

It was only in the presence of these angels in white that Ye Suhee allowed herself a slight smile.

Since Murong Yu's departure the day before, these two nurses had been diligently caring for her, clearly going above and beyond their professional responsibilities. They had even prepared her breakfast that morning.

Whether motivated by duty or compassion, Ye Suhee was deeply appreciative. With a gentle smile, she responded, "It's not as painful today."

"That's good to hear. The head nurse instructed us to keep a close eye on you. If you feel any discomfort, just press the call button immediately, okay?" As the nurse spoke, she approached Ye Suhee's bedside and glanced at the food container, her expression turning hesitant.

"Could you help me dispose of it?" Ye Suhee, perceiving the nurse's reluctance, softly requested her assistance.

"Of course, I'll take care of it right away!" The nurse replied, her tone betraying a touch of displeasure. She couldn't help but feel indignant on Ye Suhee's behalf—what kind of food was this to offer a patient?

In the five days of her hospital stay, aside from Mo's daily visits to deliver and collect the lunch box, Ye Suhee had no other visitors. Murong Yu had not made an appearance, a situation that Ye Suhee found preferable; she wasn't in the mood for interruptions.

With the grief of her loss still weighing heavily on her, Ye Suhee began to contemplate her future.

These days had given her the opportunity to reflect on her relationship with Murong Yu. The glimpse of concern she had seen from him on the day of the incident had sown seeds of doubt in her mind, while Mo's spiteful behavior reignited her defiance.

Why should she back down?

If she were to follow through with Ye Suhee's wishes, she would not only be left unsatisfied but also face a bleak and empty outcome.

Though still frail, Ye Suhee had regained enough strength to get up and move around. After handling her own discharge from the hospital, she returned to the Murong family estate without notifying anyone.

Upon her arrival at the Murong family's grand entrance, the household staff stared at her as if she were an apparition. The butler, rather than greeting her, rushed into the Main Mansion.

The Murong family, much like the Ye family, hailed from a long line of fragrance-making experts. However, unlike Ye's Group, which focused solely on the art of fragrance, the Murong Group had diversified its ventures across multiple industries. The family was renowned for its array of talented individuals, with Murong Yu standing out as a business prodigy. His leadership had significantly expanded the family enterprise, propelling the Murong Group to international acclaim.

Ye Suhee, without any luggage, strolled through the courtyard towards the Main Mansion. The air was perfumed with the sweet scent of lilies, but this made Suhee's brow furrow. Lilies were Sunuan's favorite, and since marrying into the Murong family, Murong Yu had replaced all the flowers in the courtyard with them, a constant reminder of his affection for Sunuan. Suhee couldn't help but scoff at herself internally; Murong Yu certainly tended to the flowers with great care.

The walk from the courtyard to the Main Mansion was lengthy, and by the time Suhee ascended the mansion's steps, she was lightly perspiring – a testament to her lingering frailty. She dabbed at the sweat on her forehead before entering the mansion.

A quick look around was all it took for Suhee to understand why the butler had scurried off upon seeing her – he had been sent to give notice of her arrival. Yet, it was clear that his message was of little consequence to them.

Inside the opulent living room of the Main Mansion, Murong Yu reclined on the sofa, the picture of leisure, with the ever-charming Sunuan by his side. They engaged in conversation, seemingly the lord and lady of the house, oblivious to Suhee's presence.

Murong Yu had actually noticed Suhee's arrival much earlier. She appeared less worn after several days of rest, yet still fragile. Realizing he was concerned for Suhee's well-being, Murong Yu abruptly shook off the thought. He affectionately took Sunuan's hand and proposed, "Let's go out for lunch later."

"I'll follow your lead, Mr. Yu," Sunuan responded, her cheeks flushed with delight.

Overwhelmed by fatigue, Suhee felt indifferent to their display of affection, whether intentional or not. Without uttering a word, she passed through the living room and made her way to the staircase.
