C2 It Wasnt Me!!

Despite her love for him, Ye Suhee had never stooped to such lows.

"Trust you? Ye Suhee, why should I trust a woman with a heart as venomous as yours?"

Murong Yu's anger surged without warning. He stood at the edge of the bed, his gaze icy as he looked down at the woman who had turned pale and powerless.

Ye Suhee bit her lip and yanked the blanket beside her over herself. She couldn't bear to meet his frosty stare, as if she were guilty of an unforgivable sin.

"Every day, you come home drunk and treat me like this. Murong Yu, don't you feel a shred of guilt for how you treat your wife?"

Powerless yet defiant, Ye Suhee looked up, her dark, clear eyes radiating innocence.

Murong Yu couldn't bear to see her like this and averted his eyes with indifference.

"Wife? I've never acknowledged you as my wife. If it weren't for you, Nuan and I would have been together long ago. You don't even spare your own sister. Ye Suhee, you're truly heartless!"

A sneer flickered through Ye Suhee's heart as she observed Murong Yu's face, filled with contempt.

"Sister? When did you ever see me as your sister? Murong Yu, do you truly want a divorce?"

The word 'divorce' echoed in Murong Yu's ears once more, and his deep eyes finally rested on Ye Suhee. He saw her huddled figure, her delicate face bare yet stunningly beautiful, almost too much to look at directly.

She was more beautiful than Ye Sunuan, but her heart was as cruel as a viper's. How could she ever compare to his Nuan?

"Yes, ever since the day we married, I've been thinking of nothing but divorcing you."

Ye Suhee's hands, clenched tight within the blanket, suddenly relaxed. She nodded, "Fine, I agree to the divorce."

She had never uttered the word 'divorce' herself. Why? Because she couldn't back down. Even as Murong Yu mentioned it day after day, she wouldn't relent.

She had always believed that with enough perseverance, Murong Yu would eventually fall in love with her and appreciate her devotion.

Despite enduring three years of unbearable suffering, she ultimately conceded.

"Whatever happened three years ago, whether I did it or not, I'll take the blame. Murong Yu, I'm well aware of the kind of woman you think I am. I'm not cut out to be Mrs. Murong, so I'll leave that role to Ye Sunuan!"

"Leave? That position has always been Nuan's. By what right do you claim to 'leave' it?"

Irritation flickered across his face, and he forced a thin, icy smile. "Tomorrow afternoon, I'll be waiting for you at the Civil Affairs Bureau. Ye Suhee, you know the consequences if you don't show up."

The door slammed shut, and his words echoed in her ears, leaving her alone in the desolate, chilly room.

Tears spilled from her eyes as Ye Suhee gave in to her sobs.

She had been so wrong, so terribly wrong! What had she been holding on to for these three years?

The following day at ten, Ye Suhee arrived at the Ye family home by taxi. She had nothing from the Murong family, not even the simplest means of transportation; he hadn't bothered to provide her with that.

In that moment, Ye Suhee realized just how foolishly naive she had been.

"Miss, what brings you here?"

"Why, am I not allowed to visit?"

The maids, upon seeing Ye Suhee's troubled face, understood all too well that the true lady of the Ye family was, and always would be, Ye Sunuan.
