"Facilitate your scheme? How exactly?" Ye Suhee wrapped her arms around herself, her expression icy. "If I were to do that, Murong Yu would receive the shares grandfather intended for me, and you'd inherit all of the Ye family's wealth, casting me aside. And what would I gain from this?"
"You—"
Murong Yu was visibly shaken, not expecting such words from Ye Suhee. "How could you possibly know all this?"
"Sister, that's not possible. How could I ever drive you out of the Ye family?" Ye Sunuan, fearing that Murong Yu might delve into the events of three years prior, hastily interrupted their exchange.
Yet, Ye Suhee was lucid, her gaze lifting as she smiled with a hint of defiance. "Murong Yu, there's so much I'm aware of. Like the time, three years ago, when my dearest sister drugged us—"
"Silence!"
A slap struck Ye Suhee with more force than any before, sending her sprawling to the ground.
Already frail, Ye Suhee now found herself immobilized, her stomach colliding with a nearby table, a wave of pain washing over her.
"What did you say?"
Murong Yu, oblivious to the assault, was still reeling from Ye Suhee's earlier revelation. He bent down, seizing her delicate arm. "Repeat what you said!"
"Murong Yu, it hurts."
Her complexion grew deathly pale as she sensed an odd sensation but couldn't articulate what it was.
Thinking she referred to the pain from his grip, Murong Yu released her arm, his eyes brimming with tears. "Tell me again what you just said!"
"Ye Suhee, I never imagined you could stoop so low! To think I treated you like my own sister, and yet you accuse me so falsely!"
Terrified that the truth might come to light, Ye Sunuan leaped from the bed and clutched at Murong Yu's arm, weeping, "Mr. Yu, I'm feeling terrible. Can we please send Ye Suhee away?"
The pain was intense; Ye Suhee clenched her teeth as sweat beaded on her brow, her face growing ever paler.
"What's the matter with you?"
Sensing Ye Suhee's distress, Murong Yu's expression turned to one of alarm.
He attempted to reach out and assist Ye Suhee, but his attention was abruptly drawn to a stream of red liquid seeping from beneath her skirt.
Ye Suhee felt a dampness between her legs and began to panic. She frantically clutched Murong Yu's hand, "Murong Yu, you have to save me!"
As tears streamed down her face, Ye Suhee realized she had no one else to turn to. She looked at Murong Yu as if he were her lifeline, "If you don't save me now, it'll be too late."
The blood flowing from between her thighs was increasing, and the pain was unbearable. She cried out, "Murong Yu, I'm pregnant with your child!"
Murong Yu was overwhelmed. He scooped Ye Suhee off the ground, "Quick, call a doctor! Ye Suhee, are you out of your mind? Why on earth did you wait until now to tell me?"
She reached out, desperately grasping his collar, her tears drenching her cheeks.
"I've been trying to tell you, but you never listened. Murong Yu, if we lose the child—I promise you—we'll get a divorce!"
"What are you talking about? Ye Suhee, snap out of it!"
"I've dreamed that you would love me, but you still haven't—"
"Ye Suhee!"
The blood trailed down her thighs like a crimson ribbon, dripping steadily.
The sound of the blood hitting the floor was panic-inducing, and within seconds, the area was awash in bright red.
It was a harrowing sight.
"I give up—"
