C9 Last Dinner(8)
The curtains are moving even more violently, almost to the sky. The sound of heavy blows still lingered in his ears. Through every gap and hole, he drilled into his masochistic consciousness.
Chung Jingchen was pressed down and could not move. He could only turn his head and adjust his posture. He looked at the wound and saw something similar to liquid seeping in through the gaps in the window.
... ""
Chung Jingchen wanted to remind Wai Heng to pay attention to the smuggling that happened by the window, but he was pressed too tightly. It was difficult for him to even speak, not to mention that his mouth was wrapped in bandages.
He began to struggle desperately to attract Wai Heng's attention.
"Don't move." Wai Heng whispered into Chung Jingchen's ear. His night vision was good enough for him to see his surroundings in the dark.
He accidentally glanced at the window and met his three red eyes.
Chung Jingchen was pushed under the bed by Wai Heng. He also tore off the wrapped tape. He wriggled onto the bed like an animal without limbs and covered himself with a blanket.
The intense beating of the drum began to replace the impact of the water pipe. It symbolized the victory of the prey. The sound of thousands of turns made one's scalp tingle.
Chung Jingchen was lying under the bed, staring at the monster that was slowly crawling. At first, he only had three eyes, but now that he was close, he realized that it was a green thing with countless eyes, but those eyes did not turn on a red light.
Wherever he passed, there would be a trace of green light. It was similar to the oil lamp.
Its target was very clear. It moved towards the edge of the bed. The half-liquid that it dragged turned into short limbs and began to climb the edge of the bed.
Chung Jingchen hid in a corner and bent his legs and waist as much as possible. For the first time, he felt that he was exceptionally flexible.
The monster did not realize that there was another person hiding under the bed. It opened its mouth and left a smelly saliva. It slid down the edge of the bed and appeared in front of Chung Jingchen.
Wai Heng was still on the bed. Did he guess that the monster would run to the bed?
Chung Jingchen looked at the extinguished oil lamp lying on the ground alone. The bed began to shake.
The monster had already confronted Wai Heng.
Chung Jingchen bit his lips, spread his limbs, and crawled towards the oil lamp, staining one of his hands with oil.
When he looked up, Wai Heng's arm was wrapped by the monster. The monster's body seemed to be made of glue, and it clung tightly to its prey.
Chung Jingchen kicked one of the monster's unlit eyes. A strange cry pierced through his eardrums, almost cutting off Chung Jingchen's nerves.
He was right. These unlit eyes were the monsters' weakness.
Before the monster could react, he used his oily hand to dig at the monster's eyes. Green flames burned and jumped to the roof.
"Chung Jingchen! Throw it away!
The monster's scream shook Chung Jingchen. He was so confused that he didn't even know how to move his feet. The flames spread to his arms.
Wai Heng didn't care about his hands when he saw this. He went forward and grabbed the burning monster. He quickly opened the window and threw it out.
Without the protection of the oil, Wai Heng's hand was burned by the green fire, leaving a red mark. The burning sensation pierced into his skin.
Chung Jingchen only came back to his senses after he realized what was going on. He weakly sat on the ground.
The relief of surviving a disaster enveloped the two of them.
"Is your hand okay?"
Chung Jingchen saw Wai Heng being eaten by the monster with his own eyes. If he was a little slower, he might have eaten his whole body.
"Luckily, the digestive fluid is a little disgusting." Wai Heng took a deep breath and wiped his hands clean with the curtain.
The horizon began to show signs of brightness. No one knew what a new day would come.
