C10 Personality Shift

Royce Miller's POV

As of the moment I am inside Reid's room and I feel uncomfortable. This is not my own bed. Everything does not belong to me. How could I sleep here? I rolled my eyes at the ceiling because I really can't sleep.

Suddenly, my phone rang. As I looked at the screen, I noticed it was coming from my best friend Vince. Actually, I am using a dual sim. The first one is the number I'm using as Royce and the second is the one I'm using as Reid. Walter had put all the important contacts of businessmen and other VIPs on Reid's number so I need to be very careful not to get confused about it.

"Hello, dude! Wassup man?", I heard Vince speaking from the other line.

"Yes dude, wassup?" I responded.

He asked me about Reid's comeback to META but of course, I cannot tell him the truth. I only told him what he needs to know and that's all. Although he is my best friend and I know him very well, but it's not yet the right time to open up something very confidential.

Vince is my best friend because we have something in common and that's being a happy-go-lucky one. We became friends when we were in first-year college. And even when we were expelled from Claremont, we continued our friendship. Vince is also coming from a well-off family. He is the youngest among the three siblings. His eldest brother is a lawyer and the second one is a surgeon. The two of them have already their own families but Vince, I don't know if this guy is planning to settle down because like me, I don't have any plan.

Vince and I used to hang out at bars and nightclubs together with some of our friends. We enjoyed the nightlife and we don't care about our future. Like me, Vince has also a lot of casual flings that end up in bed. Although we are stubborn, but we never had any experience to get into trouble and illegal activities. We just drink, dance, date, and that's all.

"What about a hangout later bro?", Vince's voice.

"Later?Where?", I asked excitedly.

"At Skybar. Actually, I'll be meeting my girlfriend", Vince spoke.

"Oh, seriously? You have a girlfriend?", I asked, quite not convinced.

"Actually, it was just a mere fling. But damn, I fell for her", Vince chuckled softly.

"Who is that lucky woman bro! But I don't think she is lucky", I laughed out loud. Vince also laughed knowing that I am just joking around.

"But seriously bro, I want to introduce her to you", Vince uttered.

"Okay fine, but who is she? Would you please tell me?", I asked eagerly.

"Uhm. I think you know, Alexa Morris. Remember, we were at her thanksgiving party before. That was three years ago".

"Alexa Morr---Yah..yah. so she is the unlucky woman?", I jested.

"And why you want me to come, for me to be your scorer?", I joked again.

"Of course not, she said she is bringing with her, her best friend. And do you know who is she?"

"I don't have any idea, but who is she? You're giving me a thrill", I replied.

"The one you kissed three years ago, remember her bro?" Vince uttered.

"You mean, Vera Anderson?" I asked.

"Exactly! So you need to come, I know you are attracted to her back then. And this is your time now", Vince said in a much more convincing voice.

I don't know why I feel so excited when I heard that Vera would be coming with Alexa tonight at Skybar. But how could I do that? When I am no longer Royce but Reid?

"Bro, are you with me? Is it a deal or no deal?", he chuckled.

"I will just try bro but I won't promise", I said, still confused on what to do.

"But no, you should come!", Vince insisted.

After some time, we ended up the call. I stood up, walking to and fro, inside Reid's room, still thinking on what to do. I looked at myself in the mirror. I already dyed my hair, so how could I come to Skybar with this aura? Besides, I need to sleep early for my work tomorrow.

I sat on the couch near the bed table still in deep thought, taking a long deep sigh at intervals. I really want to go to Skybar. But how could that be possible when dad's men are just around the house?

Suddenly, something came up my mind. I hurriedly went out of Reid's room and entered my room that is just right next. I rummaged through the drawers and cabinets looking for something that could be of great help to me in this time of difficulty. I don't care if everything gets messy for as long as I would find it.

After a few minutes of thorough searching, I finally found it.

My undercut style blonde wig!

I used it before when I was not yet decided to blonde my hair. I originally had dark brown hair, just like Reid but because I wanted to have at least a distinction between the two of us, I went to the salon and had another style and color.

I picked it up and tried putting it on in front of the mirror. I smiled upon looking at my own reflection.

"Royce is back!", I whispered to myself.

The next thing that I need to plan carefully is how to sneak out of the house later when there are CCTV cameras around the corner except on the third floor. If I will go out as Reid, everyone in the house would become suspicious because Reid won't usually go out in the evening except during weekends. So there's no other choice but to come out as Royce. Well, at least everyone knows that Royce would come and go out of the house anytime.

I went back to Reid's room and fixed everything for my plan. I placed all the pillows next to each other and covered them with a big blanket. I turned on the aircon and the television. Then, I took the key to his room and locked it as I went outside. Gladly, there is no CCTV here since our rooms are on the third floor, so I am safe with this.

The time flies so fast and when I looked again at my watch, it's already 6:30 in the evening. I quickly took a hot shower and after a few minutes, I stepped out of the bathroom, put a towel around my waist, and dried my hair for a while before I got dressed.

A maroon long sleeve and dark blue jeans caught my taste because this is what I usually wear whenever I go out. Then I put on my artificial blonde wig, and gladly it looks like a real one. I smiled as I fixed myself in the mirror.

"Welcome back Royce, and stay here for a while Reid. I just need to go out to see someone else", I whispered showing a winking gesture at my own reflection. Then, I sprayed my favorite vanilla scent men's cologne on my wrists, inner elbows, and belly button. I think I'm ready to go now, but I need to be very careful of my action.

I stepped out of my room and went down the stairs. I did not see dad and mom in the sala so probably, they are already in their bedroom. Housemaids were also not around because usually at this hour, they were busy cleaning the kitchen and doing other chores. I continued walking through the lobby going to the entrance door.

As soon as I reached the porch, some of dad's men noticed me and showed me some respect. I think they don't have any doubts about my personality because I know I did my role very well. Besides, this is me, Royce Miller.

Riding with my Porche Cayenne, I pulled off the road heading to Skybar. I'm sure Vince is already waiting for me now and of course his girlfriend Alexa and...

Thinking about seeing Vera Anderson a few moments from now makes me excited just like a teenager who's having a first date with his girlfriend. I hit my car's accelerator to increase its speed like I want to reach the place very soon.

After a 10-minute ride, I finally arrived at Skybar. I walked through the sliding door and looked around. Until I saw Vince waving his hands at me. I smiled and waved my hands too. I'm sure the woman beside him is Alexa and the other one sitting opposite to them is no other than Vera. But she did not turn around instead she is busy on her cellphone.

"Bro, am I too late?", I said, giving Vince a high-five.

"Nope. You're just on time bro", Vince replied and gestured me to sit beside Vera. Then he introduced his girlfriend Alexa to me. But of course, I know her so we smiled at each other.

When Alexa introduced Vera, I looked at her. She is really pretty with those two expressive blue-grey eyes. And I think she looks even prettier now. I shook her hand and I feel the softness of her palm when it touches mine. I know she is affected by my presence and I could sense it.

Our order came in and so we started to eat. While taking our food, we're having a few casual talks like how Vince and Alexa started dating each other and how the two of them have decided to enter into a commitment. Vince and I were throwing jokes at one another while Alexa and Vera were just listening.

After a while, we heard the music start to play on the dance floor. Vince and Alexa were very much excited to dance and so Vera and I were left at the table.

"Do you wanna dance Vera?", I asked.

She smiled and told me she still had to go to the ladies' room, but as soon as she stood up, she lost her balance. Gladly, I was too quick to catch her and she fell in my arms. I cupped her face and threaded my hand through her hair. I lost myself as I stared into her eyes.

Damn, I kissed her!
