C2 Tell the truth

TRAVIS SKY

I raced for her and pulled her out of dangers sight.

"Great speed dude." Alaric complemented as he shifted back to himself.

"What the hell? You almost killed me!" America yelled out.

"But I didn't." He chuckled and America waved him off like a fly. "I'm here for you Travis, the alpha is calling for you."

"Dad? Why?"

"Don't know."

"I'll be there."

★ One week later ★

I laid on my bed with my eyes closed and a pillow against my face, trying to keep the sound of my ringtone out of my head.

I heard a knock on my door and before I could even answer, it click opened.

"Travis." Mom said in the most tender voice.

I raised the pillow from my face and stared silently at her. She climbed my bed. "Look outside the window."

I got off my bed and reluctantly walked to the window. Peeking through the curtain, I saw America as she strolled down the road, she stopped, kicked an innocent stone, then continued walking.

I went back to my bed. Mom wrapped her arms around me and gently patted my back. "Your Father and I, the instant we saw each other, we knew we were meant to be and nothing could do us apart. Now I'm happy with three beautiful kids."

"Why are you telling me this?"

"I would be lying if I said I know what you are going through, I don't and I'm sorry you have to face it alone."

I smiled.

"Come downstairs for breakfast, it's been a while."

"I'm not hungry." My stomach grumbled in disagreement. "Great timing!"

My mom chuckled. "You haven't eaten in a while or left your room."

"For all we know, she circles around our house and I don't want to see her."

"At least join us for breakfast. I made spaghetti."

She wouldn't leave if I refused so I had no choice than to accept, plus, she made the best spaghetti ever! "Alright."

"I'm waiting on you." She placed a light kiss on my forehead before leaving my room.

I didn't want to go down to face my Dad of all the people, he was the cause of this but I had to eat with him like everything is okay.

"Look what the wolf dragged in." My little sister, Laura said as she saw me climb down the stairs. "How long has it been? Three years?"

"Haha funny."

"It's her way of saying she has missed you, take it that way." My mom said as she walked out of the kitchen with our breakfast.

"Hey baby bro."

I turned around and found our eldest walking into the dining room with her little pup in her hand. "No way! Linn!"

"Come here you." She pulled me in and hugged me.

"Hi there!" I smiled at the baby in her hand.

"This is Liam, your nephew."

"Hi nephew. Does Dad know?"

She shrugged.

"You are not worried? Or scared?"

"Why would I be? Because he is the Alpha or because he is my Dad?"

"Good point but still–"

"--I hear he has made another terrible decision, trying to ruin another of his kids' lives, are you gonna let him?" She interrupted me as she walked to the dining table and I followed.

"Linn, your Father only wanted what was best for you." Mom said.

"For me or for him?" Linn frowned.

"Linn."

"Isn't that why he sent his own daughter out of the pack and cut me off as his child?"

Mom sighed and placed a hand on her hip. "Linn I know, your Father made some… wrong decisions." She tried to choose her words wisely.

"Well here he is doing it again." She shrugged.

"Good morning everyone." Dad said as he entered the dining room and the whole room fell silent. He turned to look at Linn but said nothing, then he looked at me. "I see you finally chose to join us for breakfast."

"Morning Dad."

"How nice to have you at the table Travis. I wonder what this rogue is doing here." He turned to Linn but she only scoffed and looked away.

"Please everyone, Travis finally came down to eat, let's eat quietly in peace." Mom said like my presence was a big deal.

Everyone ate without uttering a word. Dad's expression proved he was going to say something that I didn't want to hear. "I heard America came here this morning."

"Yeah?"

"Travis." He sighed, "I want you to know that you are doing the right thing for our family, our pack, our community." Linn scoffed and Mom stomped on her feet. She had this kind of expression that said "what?" But Dad chose to ignore the storm at the table. "Don't let that girl keep troubling herself, she is a young wolf which I'm very sure will find love the instant you let her know the truth."

I opened my mouth to speak but I realized it wasn't worth it. I left the table and went back to my room, ignoring the calls of my Mom.

I heard a knock on my door and as expected, whoever it was didn't wait till I said "who is it" or "come in" like every normal person should.

"What's up my man?" Dylan said as he walked in with the rest of my pack.

"Why do you look like the moon?" Darby his twin asked me.

"The usual."

Darby sighed and climbed my bed. She rested her head on my shoulder, "everything is going to be alright."

"Damn dude! What in the name of the Alpha is wrong with you?" Alaric exclaimed with my phone in his hand.

"What?" Darby asked him.

"A hundred and two missed calls, thirty-eight messages and forty pending voice messages!"

"It's not my intention to ignore her."

"Dude, I know it's messed up but you can't keep her waiting for a wolf that ain't coming back yo." Alaric said as he bounced a tennis ball off the wall.

"Oooh! Look! Sexy neighbor is undressing!" Dylan exclaimed as he bit at his lower lips and everyone just stared at him. "What?"

"Tell her." Darby insisted.

I stared at the screen of my phone, "what am I going to do?"
