C16 Acceptance

Early in the morning, Porter and I went out early to school. Since I already had a car, Porter can hitch in.

I was a little confused and intrigued when several students throughout the school murmuring about Roger.

“Hey, what did you do to Roger?”

Porter moved up his side lip. “I just did according to plan? Don’t worry, I didn’t kill him. I just made him pee from his underwear.”

I felt relieved.

“You really do it? Have you seen his face?”

“Ah-huh. He’s absolutely terrified.

It was at this moment that Ina passed by. I supposed to give her a stolen kissed but she immediately shunned me.

She raised her brows and gave me a worried look. Afterward, she immediately ran off to her room without saying a word to me.

I can’t blame her. After what happened last night, she knew it was me the third wolf in the park.

Porter caressed my back and shrugged me heading to the room.

“It's fine, Emir. That’s part of your life as a human. But, I would suggest you should stop courting her. We both know, either of you will only get hurt after all. You’re a wolf and she’s a human.”

On behalf of Porter’s advice, I am still eager to pursue Ina no matter what happened. I just think I’m in love with her. And that makes me human.

When I entered the room, there was a loud round of applause from our classmates.

“That’s the true hero! Aside from being good at the field, this man is also a good citizen. He just saved some lives last night.” Coach Brown clapped his hands and proudly announced.

Despite their celebratory applauses, I felt round the bend at myself. The truth was I was not able to save the boy last night. He was killed and I just looked at his withered shredded body lying on the ground.

I only grinned at them bitterly and seated on the chair.

“Okay, that’s enough. That’s enough! Settle down, guys. Because today is our midterm exams. Thirty percent of your grades…”

As Coach Brown kept speaking, my mind was out of nowhere. I can’t concentrate. However, Porter noticed me restless.

He stood up and gave his empty test exam back to Coach. I get why he did it. He wanted me to get out of the room and have some fresh air outside.

He was looking at me.

I sighed extremely and stood up. Likewise, I gave my test exam to Coach empty. Kevin also followed.

“Hey, boys, do you want to fail in this subject?” Coach Brown asked.

All of our classmates were seriously looking at us.

We didn’t answer his question; instead, we went out of the room.

Porter and I were taken aback when Kevin blocked our way. He was looking up to somewhere.

“Hey, can you hear what my dad wants to Mr. Spencer?” He was pointing a finger at Mr. Stewart and Mr. Spencer.

“Sssshhhh.” I focused my ear on their conversation.

I looked at Kevin before I replied. “They were conducting a mandated curfew throughout the school at nine in the evening because of what happened in the park.”

“Yeah, maybe it’s quite appropriate and necessary; especially your werewolves’ friends were wandering all throughout Green Hills.

“Okay, that’s enough. We, werewolves disobeyed whatever clampdown this place is undergoing. Now, we need to go for Emir’s practice.” He then grabbed our collars and dragged us outside.

We then hopped into my car and drove away to the woods.

“Hey, Porter what will you do tomorrow during the full moon?” Kevin asked.

“The full moon is not a problem to me. I can control the shift with or without the moon.”

I felt envious of Porter. He is indeed good at shifting. Perhaps, they were trained about this in their world.

When we arrived at Rico’s house, they were already outside expecting our presence.

“What is this little human doing here?” Rico asked.

“I am Clark’s best friend, all right? Wherever he goes I go. And I am the one who helped him since from the start.”

We then hopped out of the car.

I hissed. “That’s enough. I am here to learn. So we better get started.” I immediately interrupted.

“Okay, Porter can you shift into your werewolf form?” Rico asked.

In a split second, Porter shifted and comes back to human form.

My eyes were twinkling after seeing him shifted in a short period of time.

“What about you, Emir? Can you do that?”

I only gave them a wide eye opened.

“Umm, do you have any training manual for that? How would I know the shifting thing?”

Rico then picked up a stick on the ground.

“Tie him up to the tree, Porter.”

Porter and Kevin immediately followed his advice. They tied me up with a cord Rico gave them.

“Is it really necessary? Did your parents do the same thing when you do your shifting?” Kevin worriedly asked.

“Ouch! That hurts, Rico.”

Kevin’s face wrinkled when Rico battered me with the stick several times while Porter was just laughing at me.

“Is that really necessary? Ouch, enough!”

“Do you really want to know how to control the shifting with or without the full moon?”

“Yes,” I shouted.

“Then remember what made you shift the night we encountered Draku’s group. What was the reason why you shifted that time? Think, Emir, think.”

“How am I supposed to know that? I shifted. But I didn’t know how.”

He battered me again.

“Don’t give me that look, Emir. I know the reason why you shifted that night.” He furiously said.

This time, it was my face that he hit with the stick and it hurts. It really hurts. It was at this time I felt the urge of aggression. I started to hardly breathe.

“Anger, Pain, and hatred made me shift that night. I was angry after hearing him threatening to kill all those people close to me.”

Kevin was taken aback. His eyes are wide open.

“What? Ina’s father really said that? Am I in danger now?” Kevin worriedly interrupted.

“Shut up, Kevin. We’re only doing these things for Emir.” Porter replied.

They then looked at me back.

“Use it, Emir. Make your anger and hatred outburst. But don’t forget to control it. Don’t let the anger and hatred controlled over you.”

“Accept the fact that you are a werewolf not a human, Emir. Let your werewolf blood runs through your veins. Get rid of all your worries and fears.” Porter suggested.

All my bones started cracking down. I can feel severe pain all throughout my body.

“That’s it, Emir. Keep doing that. Remember, you have to control the shift so you could not feel the pain anymore.”

My tears immediately trickled down to my cheek.

“I’m sorry I can’t do it. It’s too much pain.” I sighed dejectedly as I crouched to the ground.

“It’s okay, son. The pain was only for the first time. The physical pain will heal but the emotional pain won't. Imagine how you would feel, Ina, hates you and if your parents Judie and Nathan were killed by the Beast Lord. How would you feel?” Cletisa excruciatingly said.

Rico and Cletisa were taken aback when the cracking of my bones continued. I couldn’t help but to release accept the truth it would possibly happen if I am not going to let go.

In a few minutes of easing the pain, I successfully shifted.

Rico and Cletisa were a little confused that I shifted like a normal werewolf compared to the shift I did during our encounter with Draku.

They exchanged glances. While I, on the other hand, immediately laid my body to the ground because of extreme exhaustion.

In a few more minutes, I began shifting back to a normal human being.

“Okay, that would be all for today. The next time you do that will not be difficult anymore, especially since tomorrow was a full moon. We were stronger tomorrow.” Rico said.

Porter took off the clothes I kept in the car and passed it to me. I am keeping clothes in the car for lacrosse practice.

Cletisa and Rico stepped away and had a conversation. Kevin helped me stood up and hopped into the car.

In a few minutes, Cletisa and Rico went towards us.

“Emir, we were just confused about your shift lately. We were expecting that you will show us the same wolf you just did the last time.” Rico said.

I totally forgot to inform them that was another beast inside me who could talk and helped me sometimes.

“Umm, have you heard of someone who was a wolf but there was also a beast inside of him?”

Rico and Cletisa only wrinkled their faces. It appears that they don’t have any idea what was really happening to me. Since I am not good at elaborating things, Kevin answered.

“Actually, here is the real thing, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, based on what Clark told me, there was inside of him who is listening and even talking to him sometimes. He has no control of the beast, yet as it only talks to him if he wanted to or Clark will be in a desperate position. Understand what I mean?”

“So, only in those disparate times, the red chakra comes out to your body?”

“Yeah, I can say that. Just every time when I see or witness that people who are close to me were in great danger. Like what happened to Ina last night.” I explained.
