C20 Recruitment

After Sheriff Stewart and Kevin left the house, a "U-shape" was drawn into my face knowing the accused person had been released from custody.

What happened in the woods lately was like a championship game for me even though the woods were completely on fire which I caused. At least, no one got hurt.

I don't know exactly why or how, but I seem to be able to control the transition though it was just an hour or two.

"What were those deep impressions about, huh?" Porter interrupted.

Though Porter comes from the other realm and is raised by pure werewolves, he seems to be the kind of person who cares about the other's feelings. People called him Porter but he introduced his name to me as Baruk.

I wagged my head as I was seriously looking at the moon. "Huh? Me? Nothing. I am just trying to remember what exactly happened lately but it seems I felt some sort of freedom after all the transformation time lately."

Porter breathed out of dismay.

"It's not the wolf, Emir. You shifted as the fox during the full moon and I got blackout after getting slapped by one of your tails."

"I know. And truly sorry. I am. But there is just one you guys didn't know about what happened to me in the woods before you and Kevin found me." I released some air out of my nose in a relaxing way.

After the blazing woods, we're completely controlled; the Police Officers and the firemen left the area.

From where I am standing, I suddenly noticed the two small wooden chairs beside our gate my dad built for me when I was a kid. Half-smile was drawn into my face reminiscing those days dad and I using them watching the stars every night.

Picked up those two chairs and gave the other one to Porter. The time was already two in the morning but my eyes and mind were sleepless.

The two of us were just sitting at my dad's favorite spot outside the house staring at the cold white moon along with the stars twinkling that lit up the entire Green Hills.

No talk, no sounds. We were just staring at it.

In a few more minutes, we decided to get back inside the house, and my mom was already in her profound sleep on the couch. I know her body was completely exhausted from her continuous night shifts at the hospital.

Am also thankful that she already knows about me but I am certain she hasn't seen me in my beast mode and that's what I am more afraid of. What if she will see me one day shifted? Will she still not get terrified of me?

Before I descended upstairs, I got some pillows and blankets in her room and coated her body, and kissed her on the forehead afterward.

The next morning was Saturday. We were supposed to have our rest day but Coach Brown gave us rings informing us to go into the school's fields for some important announcement.

"Coach, sorry we're late. We just slept late last night because of the fire incident. Umm, who are they?" I raised a brow and was pointing a head nod to those new faces playing in the fields.

"Oh, you haven't got the notification of restructuring announcement?"

"What restructuring?"

"It was the school's tradition to recruit new players from the freshmen when several of you will be graduating soon."

Lucky for me, I still have at least two years to wait before graduation.

"And all the positions are now open." He clapped my chest.

"You mean…?" I was pointing a finger at myself.

"Everything, Mcwell. Including you. So if you still want to be their co-captain, get on the field and fire them up!" He blows his whistle.

Coach Brown went on the field and greeted some of the new players who wanted to try-out.

"Hey, buddy. Sorry, I'm late. There's just something wrong with the pipelines." Kevin leaned both hands to his knees while panting.

"Did you see what I am seeing?"

Kevin looked in the direction where I am looking.

"You mean, about your hottie cousin chattering and laughing at the new students? Nah. It doesn't matter."

I shifted my look at Kevin. "First of all, he's not my cousin. I mean those students. I can smell some unusual scents about them. Are four of them werewolves?"

Kevin and I immediately strode towards Porter and the four students.

"Porter, what's the meaning of this?" I raised a voice at him.

The four of them including Porter immediately shut their mouth and shifted their looks at me.

"Oh, you mean them being the newest member of your parent's team of werewolves? Not my bad. Blame your parents about this, dude! I am just here to talk to them. That's all." He was taken aback and defended himself.

"You cannot dictate us for what we want, Mcwell. Because of your parent's gift, a lot of good things happened to us, right guys?" He enthusiastically told the other three.

This person talking to me was a bit taller than me but he's skinny. He seems to be immature if I could say and possibly, his age was like fifteen or sixteen.

The four of them looked at me in contempt. I couldn't believe Rico and Cletisa would recruit some immature innocent people.

With my anger, I immediately grabbed his collar and punched him in the face.

"Good thing, huh? How about the bad things? Do they tell you how it feels to be afraid of getting exposed to those innocent lives? Do you have any idea that if you cannot control yourself during a full moon, you might kill someone, worst, your family? Do they tell you that?" I was grunting as I kept on punching his face.

Though the man's blood came out from his nose, he didn't fight me back but only laughed at me instead.

The other three new werewolf students decided to fight me back as their friend was already wasted. I got several punches and kicks out of them and I spit blood out of my mouth.

"Hey, Clark. Better stop it now, dude. The people were watching us now." Kevin grabbed my hands and tried to block me from them but only ended up getting punches and kicks instead of me.

Kevin stumbled and moaned extremely.

Porter, on the other hand, just enjoys the show while licking up the lollipops in his mouth. He didn't interrupt nor say anything.

Furiously, I immediately shifted my normal eyes into a terrifying reddish brown. I softly growled at them enough that they felt terrified.

They immediately stepped back out of me. Their faces were like an eight-year-old baby who got scolded by their parents. They were all newbies and I am a natural-born alpha. They should be terrified of me. That's how it works in the werewolf world.

Several students including Coach Brown noticed the heated fistfight and immediately ran towards us.

"Hey, what's the meaning of this, Mcwell? Is that how you're supposed to treat the new players? Get on the bench! Now! You two and you! All of you." Coach Brown yelled ferociously.

I sighed deeply and helped Kevin up. All of us except Porter got some black-eyes and broken noses.

We went to the bench where Coach Brown put the bottled water and a few ice cubes.

"Hey, are you okay?" I worriedly asked Kevin.

"Do you think I am fine with this look, bro? What would my dad react once he'll know about this?" He sighed in regret.

I took some eyes and gave some to Kevin.

"I'm sorry, dude for dragging you into this mess."

Kevin noticed my face in full regression.

"Nah. I'll be fine. I'm just gonna look for a better reason once dad notices me like this." He responded with a worried voice.

"Anyway, thank you for saving the punches for me." I grinned at him to enhance his mood.
