C7 Kill them all

We didn't know how my dad got to know we were leaving the country. He stormed the airport with his warriors and refused to allow us to board the plane. He had no problem with my mom leaving but he would never let her take me, and ordered two of his warriors to hold me down

It seemed my Uncle already anticipated this would happen since he brought along with him huge warrior werewolves that were way, way bigger than my dad's warriors. My Dad and Uncle started arguing. Their arguments escalated into bloody fights with my Dad and his warriors suffering the most injuries but still, he refused to back down.

When he saw his warriors were no match for my Uncle's, he commanded them all to leave. After they had all left, he told my Uncle...

''You can take your sister, but it will be over my dead body before I allow you to take my son!''

'Your son? Like seriously!?...' How could he still call me his son after the way he's been treating me!?' I wondered in annoyance.

Even if my Uncle didn't say it out, I think my dad kinda earned his respect because of what happened that day. Although I hated him for not allowing me to leave, I still admired him a little for not being a pushover and for continuing to stand his ground despite his injuries.

I've always wondered about that day. About why he didn't call for backup. My Uncle might come with a small army but my dad had the home advantage over him. Why didn't he call for backup to help him defeat my Uncle and his warriors?

My mom also refused to leave without me so she had no other choice than to stay. I wondered why he prevented me from leaving with my mom that day since he never attempted to make our father-son relationship better than it was. Rather, it got worse.

One would think I would be allowed back in school after all the fights he put up for my sake but no! I was registered in a human school instead. My father is the Alpha of the biggest pack in the whole of North America, yet I wasn't allowed in any werewolf school. Oh, how I hated him then.

And I hated him even more after my mom and Eric's parents were gruesomely murdered right in my presence. He shouldn't have forced us into staying when he knew he wouldn't be able to protect us. If he had allowed us to leave, my mom would be in Denmark with me right now, Eric's parents wouldn't have come for the visit that led to their death and I wouldn't be this mentally damaged wolf who cried at night and suffered insomnia

Nobody ever mentioned to me that Eric's mom was a witch until that horrifying day. Eric was in school and his parents came to our house for a visit. I was outside, shooting hoops with Eric's dad while the women talked and laughed with each other when suddenly, Eric's mom shouted...

"The dark wolves are coming!" She stood up from where she was seated with my mom and rushed toward where we were shooting balls. I could see her face had lost its color because of what she said was coming

"The dark wolves!?" Uncle Drew asked looking widely around "How can that be!? Dark werewolves are nocturnal! They never come out during the day, they will burn! Are you sure of what you're saying? Could you by any chance be mistaken!?" He asked with concern while looking into her eyes.

"Dark wolves? What are they?" I asked them as they talked but no one answered

"I am not mistaken! I can feel their dark energies draining me!" Aunty Liv replied and wrapped her arms around herself as if she was feeling cold, turning all 360 degrees as she looked in different directions. "I know what I'm feeling!" She said to her husband, fear apparent on her face

"Liv, are you sure!?..." My mom held her friend's arm. It is twelve at midday. We all know the dark wolves wouldn't dare come out by this time, they will burn to cinders if they try that!"

"I am sure!..." She answered with frustration. "These are not ordinary dark wolves. Somebody is protecting them from the sun with sorcery! You can't just wake up one day and do this! It takes years to master!" She sounded agitated,

"They are coming in throngs from every direction!... They wanted us dead! How could I be clueless about their plan!? How could I not suspect!? There's no way out for us! We are all going to die!" She fell into her husband's arms and sobbed bitterly.

We are all going to die!? How!? Mom, what's happening?" I asked my mom who was already on the phone with my dad, telling him the situation. It was difficult for me to wrap my head around their discussion. How could things go downhill so fast!? How did we go from laughing and shooting balls to the 'we are all going to die!' kind of situation!?

Our house was on the outskirts of a human town, surrounded by woods that my mom chose because of the privacy it offered against the prying human eyes. I also loved the place for its serenity and the fact that you'll need to walk about half a mile or more before you would arrive at the main town. Right then, I looked around the lonely house, surrounded by woods and I was not so thrilled about privacy and serenity anymore.

"My poor baby... What's going to happen to him, Drew?" Aunty Liv cried on her husband's shoulder...

"Mom, what's happening? What or who are dark wolves and why do they want to kill us!?" I asked my mom who was now putting her phone away, but instead of her answering my questions she moved closer and hugged me tightly to herself.

"I love you, baby..." She said with a voice heavy with emotions. "Whatever happens, I want you to listen to your father and..."

"Mom, stop! I'm not a child anymore! Tell me what or who they are, these dark wolves? Why do they want us dead and why are you scared Mom!? You are a warrior!" I demanded as I pulled away from her hug

"I'm going to tell you everything but not right now! Your father is on his way. Everything is going to be alright okay?"

"You heard that, backup is on the way." Uncle Drew consoled Aunt Liv while patting her on the back.

"It's already too late! They are here! The dark wolves are here!..." Aunt Liv replied and pulled away from her husband's arms, walking towards where I was standing with my mom

"Thor, you listen to me! You and Eric only have each other now! You can only trust each other and no one else, okay!? Do you understand me!?" She asked, vigorously shaking my arm

"Yes, Aunt Liv!..." I replied half-heartedly, not understanding why she said that to me when we were currently in the same boat together. Or didn't she just say right now that we're all going to die!?

Werewolves fight off enemies from their territories all the time. If these dark wolves are another kind of rogues then we can take them or keep them at bay till backup arrives, can't they see that!? I thought while the two women sandwiched me between them in a tight hug.

"It's time!" Aunt Liv abruptly pulled away from our hug to announce but my mom held on, hugging me tighter than before...

"I'm so sorry. There's a lot I should have let you know. I–I didn't know it will end this way. If I had known..." My mom was hastily saying to me when Aunt Liv interrupted

"Viveka let go of him, we have to hurry!" She pulled my reluctant mother away from me and swished her hands through the air before either of us could protest. I was suddenly surrounded by smoke. When it cleared off, I found myself inside some kind of transparent dome. Right then I understood what she meant when she said Eric and I only have each other now! They intended to protect me.

When the dark wolves started coming out from everywhere like Eric's mom had said, I understood why they were scared earlier and most of what Eric's mom said before. There was an eclipse of the sun that turned the day to night, allowing the monsters to move freely without getting burnt... The dark wolves were unlike any wolves that I'd ever seen before. They were ugly creatures that stood very tall, ranging from seven to ten feet in height, and also built like gorillas

My mom and Eric's parents were outnumbered. They had no fighting chance whatsoever against the monsters that had them surrounded. The scene was horrible.

Fifteen years later, I still couldn't forget the terror in their eyes as the dark wolves ripped into them. Their screams reverberated in my head every second of every day, especially at night when I was done with work and had no other things to occupy myself with.

I am no coward! I'm now The General of the warriors in my Uncle's pack and it killed me every time I remember how I was protected like a damn little girl! I would have been glad to fight and die alongside my family. That faith would have been better than watching the repeat play of how my family was murdered in my dreams every night.

"How could I ever go back there and fight for the position of an Alpha knowing how they conspired to kill our parents!?" I furiously asked Eric

Eric glared back at me... "Fifteen years ago, we vowed while standing over their graves to avenge their death, remember!?... How would we ever have our revenge if we don't go back to find who was responsible!?" Eric asked with the same tone of voice I used.

"Finding and killing those responsible for our parents' death will give you the emotional closure that you need to finally have peace of mind, Thor! We have to do this. We have to go back!"

"Yes!..." I replied breathing heavily. "We will go back! We will find them and we will kill them all!"
