C7 Fortune Plan

"Don't fuss over that, eat up before it gets cold."

Sung Guodong noticed Sung Zhu fixated on the two bowls, assuming the child's curiosity was at play and thought nothing of it.

"Oh." Sung Zhu munched on her pancake, her mind a whirlwind of excitement.

She was going to be wealthy! Incredibly wealthy!

After all, a well-preserved piece of blue and white porcelain could fetch an astronomical price in the future! With two such bowls at home, once they were auctionable, she and her grandpa wouldn't have a single worry for the rest of their lives.

Hold on!

Grandpa had mentioned that many in the village possessed similar items. If she could somehow gather all those treasures...

"Have some soup! Zhu, you need to nourish yourself." Noticing Zhu was only nibbling on the pancake, Sung Guodong ladled out a bowl of soup for her with a pang of concern.

She had become so thin; it was truly distressing.

"Grandpa, could you possibly trade with the other families for their bowls and plates like these?"

Sipping the soup, Sung Zhu's emotions were indescribable.

Imagine, savoring soup from a vessel worthy of being a national treasure! How many people could boast such a daring act? It was truly... Ah, the taste was exquisite!

"Is something the matter? The bowl isn't broken, is it?"

Sung Guodong inspected the soup bowl closely. It was intact, without a single chip or crack.

"No, it's perfect! Grandpa, I just love these kinds of bowls and plates! I want them, really want them!"

Sung Zhu had intended to reveal to Sung Guodong that these were valuable antiques! If they could collect the rest, they'd be set for life!

But she hesitated, reconsidering her approach. First, she wasn't sure Sung Guodong would believe her. Second, she thought it wiser to quietly amass their fortune.

If Sung Guodong couldn't keep the secret and it slipped out, the repercussions could be grave!

One must remember, this was a unique time. Many wouldn't bother to ask whether something was an antique; such relics were seen as vestiges of a feudal past, subject to destruction and retribution!

Even if the situation wasn't too severe, the owners weren't fools. Why on earth would they just hand over their treasures to you?

So, it's best to keep to oneself and quietly make a fortune!

"Do you like it, Zhu?" Sung Guodong asked with a puzzled look. When had his little granddaughter taken an interest in such things?

"Yes, Grandpa, I love it! Look at this beautiful pattern. It would be perfect if it were a set! Grandpa, do we have any other dishes at home? I really want this kind..."

Sung Zhu resorted to her charm, wrapping her arms around Sung Guodong's arm and giving it a shake.

"Oh, my, you and your tastes. Alright, we don't have many people in our family, and we have plenty of dishes. I'll get them changed for you tomorrow. Okay, no more shaking."

Sung Guodong couldn't fathom why Sung Zhu suddenly wanted these specific dishes, but he adored her and would go to any lengths to procure anything she fancied.

Such dishes were plentiful in the village. If she liked them, he would happily exchange them. After all, the villagers were amiable and didn't fuss over which dishes they used.

"Thank you, Grandpa! Enjoy your fish!"

Sung Zhu's heart blossomed with joy, having achieved her aim.

She wondered how many she could collect! They were national treasures, after all. Once she got them back, she'd have to store them carefully and not squander them as they had been!

The thought of using the blue and white porcelain for serving soup and rice made her heart twinge with pain!

"Come on, eat up," Sung Guodong said, sharing in Sung Zhu's happiness.

Nothing mattered more than his little granddaughter's joy.

Unable to wait until the next day, Sung Zhu fetched ordinary bowls and plates from the kitchen and insisted that Sung Guodong exchange them right away.

Unable to resist her, Sung Guodong agreed to the exchange.

That night, as Sung Zhu lay in bed, she reminisced about the electricity she had released that day and the mysterious space her consciousness had entered. She had tried every possible way to replicate the experience but to no avail. The effort had left her utterly exhausted.
