C16 Chapter-16

Daniel's POV:

I stopped the car in front of the gate, came out to open the gate and parked the car inside. Opening the back door of the car, I took out all the stuff I bought. Mom asked me to do it.

"Dan! You have a guest now. You should take care of her. Also remember to buy something to eat and some products too on your way home."

I shopped at the supermarket on my way here. While shopping, i thought it would be better if I could say sorry to her. She probably doesn't know who i am. And i should introduce myself as well as apologise what happened to her because of me. So, i bought a teddy bear for her as a gift. She might like it, a gift for her room. Girls like these kind of things. With these thoughts, i entered inside. In the living room, on my right side, i saw a girl sitting with her back towards me, watching TV. I took some steps towards her. And when i reached near her, i said:

" Hi! How are you?"

With my sudden sound behind her, she calmly stand up and turned towards me.

" Hello! I'm fine. What about you?"

She wasn't shocked to see me. She knew?

"You don't seem surprised or something. I guess you knew."

"Saw a family photo earlier."

She answered while shrugging. It was such awkward situation for both of us, looking towards the ground waiting for each other to speak first.

" Did you like the house?"

"Yeah. It's beautiful."

She answered while standing in the same posture, looking towards the ground. I noticed her hair were untied. Long brown hair, and her fingers sometimes making her hair at front go behind ear. She was wearing white frock, long enough to reach her knees. In the lights, she was shining brightly, like a star.

"Oh! I remember. I got something for you. As an apology gift. It would be good if you won't tell mom about what happened."

"You don't need to. I won't tell anything."

She answered in her usual low voice.

"Well! Since I bought it. I think you should keep it."

Out of all the things I was holding in my hand, i took a box outside, doll box. It was beautiful wrapped in blue sheet. I handed it over to her nicely. It took her twenty to thirty seconds to get hold of that box. I guessed she was shy enough.

"What is this?"

"Open it yourself. A small gift for your room."

I replied shrugging my shoulders. She opened it slowly. But something happened. She threw it away. She was breathing heavily. I could see fear in her eyes. Her arms, she folded them around her as if she was trying to protect her from something.

"Hey! Is everything alright?"

Her eyes on the stuff doll, a red doll lying on the ground. She stepped backwards, shooking her head. And at the end, she ran upstairs.

"What was that?"

I asked myself cluelessly. What happened to her? Why was she afraid? Afraid of a doll?

Sara's POV:

I was sitting in front of television when i heard someone footsteps behind me. I looked back at him. My reaction told him that i knew who he was. Same case was for me. His was not shocking at all. He knew. How? I don't know. After having a weird conversation with him, he said that he bought a gift for me, as an apology.

Apology for what? Something he wasn't even guilty of. I said he should not do that.

"Well! Since i bought it. I think you should keep it."

He took out that gift, a red box. I was so shy and embarrassed to take it. He asked me to open it. I opened it. I was shocked. No, something more than shocked. I was afraid. That thing, i dropped it. It was on the floor. Scary thing. I lost my mind, ran upstairs. I closed the door. What was that? Why? That bear? Why?Tears flowing down my face.

Flashback:

I could see a room. A big one. My paralysed mom lying down on bed. A lady in red standing near her with a red doll in her hand. Three year old little Sara was hiding behind the chair in the same room, looking at her little teddy in young lady's hand.

A painful truth, little girl saw a murder.
